Well, I am a husband and father. I love the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, stand up paddling, fishing, you know "man stuff" but I'm a sucker for chick flicks. I wrote Fields of Alicia, Waterproof, Across Borders, and the series Micah and have several other novels finished and in the making. My Cedar Branch series is a comedy that is well liked and earned an international book finalist award. And yes I am a raccoon lover, my wife and I rescue and release raccoons. Micah Spearman recently moved to the quiet town of Seven Springs, where he joins the lacrosse team, makes new friends and leanrs he’s part of an ancient prophecy. He has to lead an army of guaridans to battle against demons…while trying to stay on top of homework, of course.

I really liked Micah. He’s down to earth mùost of the time, but can be a little bit of a dreamer too. He’s strong and intelligent, brave and willing ot put others first. He has his flaws too, and actq like a typical teenager sometimes, but still I found him likeable and relatable.

The plot had many twists and turns that kept me entertained throughout. The start was a little slow, but once we got past that, I really enjoyed the flow of the story, and the pacing. I also liked the romance subplot, and how it wasn’t the focus of the book but still added an extra layer to the characters.

If you like fantasy for young adults, I would recommend Micah.

I loved the story!!! It’s very intriguing and with a lot of turns and a lot of mystery as well. Romance is not missing either, so I can say this book is addressed to a large type of readers.

The subject is a classic one: evil against good, demons versus… prophets? That’s a new one for me. I’ll stop here with the details. I did not follow how the transition between the real and spiritual world was happening. I mean what happens with his body? How is time flowing between the two worlds? There are some unanswered questions, but it’s just small details for my evil eye J

Micah was not entirely to my taste unfortunately. He is very mature for his age. I mean, for a 15 year old he can act very mature in many discussions, even has friends older than him who seek his advice. I’m not sure this was the author’s intention or just how the character came up. Also, when he starts seeing demons and fighting he is very confident in his actions and even in his abilities. However, when it comes up to asking a girl out, he proves to be very very shy.

Since there is some originality to the story and since I loved it, even though there are things to be improved, I award 4 stars and wait impatiently for the next part. Happy reading!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a great book. It did start a little slow, but I think that was more me and less the book. One should never start reading something when things are chaotic in your household. Once I get into the book, it held me until I got done reading it. It is was a great read and one that I couldn't put down.

Micah is one of those characters you love. If I was a high school student he probably would have been the guy I had a crush on. He is strong, but had his moments. I love how he interacts with the other characters. And his friends are great too! The characters as a whole are great and I would love to know them all in the real world.

The story was action filled and easy to follow. Once you get into the book you don't want to put it down, wanting to know what will happen next. I was drawn in and want to know more, to read more. I am excited to see where this author is going to go with this story. I think there is a great deal of story left to be told, and we can expect to see some great books to follow this one!

This was a really exciting, intriguing read! Packed full of action, adventure and a little dash of sweet romance- I was captivated from beginning to end! The storyline was intriguing, the dialogue complex and the characters were very well developed. This classic adventure of good vs evil left me sitting on the edge of my seat and devouring the book as quick as I could! Even thought there's plenty of dark twists, the writer still keeps the story light-hearted and the sprinkling of sweet teen romance adds the perfect balance to this gripping adventure! I thoroughly enjoyed Micah and can't wait to check out the sequel when it comes out!!

Everything I love about YA is in this book. Great characters, world, plot, and writing. Starting out slow was the only part of this book I did not like, but once the action started it kept the pages turning. This is a true adventure story that will hook you. I enjoyed the main character because he was well written and likeable. I felt connected to the story and want to read more. I believe this will be an amazing series many will get hooked to.
I recommend this book to all who want an exciting adventure in their lives.
