Maribel Gibson always wanted to be extraordinary.

Having grown up in the Deep South, she not only dealt with racism, she triumphed over it. No matter what came her way, she turned the situation around to her benefit. So when she moves to New York in pursuit of a journalism career, she thought her life could only get better. But as her main job opportunity slips through her fingers, she suddenly finds herself all alone and jobless in a big city, panicking. Then chance presents her with an unexpected boon: the scoop of a lifetime in the form of an unhappy billionaire. Regardless of how she feels about the man spilling his story, she knows it’s her shot to get in the big leagues, and she’s about to take it.

Jim Craig only wants normalcy.

The son of a billionaire and forced into the family business, Jim longs to be just a regular guy. Maribel is confident & determined to be a successful New York reporter. After being told she didn’t get the job, she runs into Jim, the billionaire. He’s freely giving her the story of a lifetime…testing her southern morals. Maribel has a choice to make, write the story and get the dream job or keep job hunting so she doesn’t have to return to the deep south. Jim is drawn to Mari & sense she is being vague with him about her career but determined to help her get her NY legs, he gets a wake-up call.

Great book. Jim was faced with marry a woman by the name of Lucy. There was no love involved on either end. It was a business deal and that was it. He felt the pressure of his father to do this. Jim could not just take that leap and have a loveless marriage.

Maribel was a southern girl who longed to make it in the big city. She long to report on corruption and use her writing to help others. She was willing to do what ever it took to get her foot in the door.

Maribel will feel like Jim has fell in her lap. Here she is meeting this billionaire that is a run away groom. As Jim pours his heart out to Maribel and they start to become very close she will have to decide if she will give into love or start her career.

Good Stuff

This was a light feel good story with two likable main characters. The story moves at steady pace so you really do get a dull moment. This was typical boy meets girl and they fall in love. This is one you can pass on to your mother.
