- Graphic details of animal abuse (I did not expect so much)
- Disturbing descriptions of violence towards animals in Thailand and Romania
- Some happy rescues throughout (which kept me reading)
So disturbed and shocked at how graphic and gory this book was. I wanted an uplifting rescue story not a load of detail about the awful things that happen to dogs on the streets etc. I'm still in shock.
I understand the importance of spreading the message about cruelty to animals but I wasn't made aware by the synopsis that this book contained so much brutal violence. I think there should of been a warning on it!!
I really did not want to read about this, call me ignorant, but I just wanted a simple rescue story (as suggested by the synopsis), this was more like a horror book.
Rating:
I really don't know how to rate this book;
The first part of the book was about miscarriages and awful things that the author had gone through, which really didn't connect to the story of dogs.
Then it finally, after like half the book, went into having an autistic child and so much animal abuse and then it was about the bond between Kyle and Miracle (rescued dog, which is supposed to be the main part of the book) and how they won a crufts thing and that was basically it.
Most of the book was animal abuse and i'm so confused and shocked and all over the place about this book. None of it adds up??? so confused
NB: I skipped threw the last 2 chapters I could not bare to read anything more than a happy ending.
