My daughter has loved all the Daisy books and was delighted to read the latest adventure. Halloween is coming and Jack Beechwhistle is full of stories – such as, if you tread in a puddle at midnight on Halloween night when there’s a full moon, you’ll turn into a weregoldfish. Daisy and Gabby are determined not to believe him, but Jack’s stories go on getting scarier and scarier… Before long it is Halloween night and Daisy is going to go trick or treating for the first time – what can go wrong?

Like all of the Daisy books, this is full of things that children can relate to – from playground teasing to the excitement of going out in the dark. All of the pages where Daisy is trick and treating are printed on black paper, with white font, which makes it really atmospheric. Also, like all the Daisy books there is a fantastic ending which has a really funny twist – don’t worry, I won’t spoil it by giving it away!

I think I like the Daisy books as much as my daughter. These are clever, wonderfully written and I love Daisy and her long-suffering mum. Jack Beechwhistle now has his own book, although she was not as keen on that one, Jack fans will be glad to know that he has a big part to play in this story. I do wish that, with all the merchandise offered for other characters, there could have been a Daisy doll on offer. Perhaps it might still happen – until then, enjoy the stories, they are wonderful.

Daisy doesn’t do anything for Halloween but this Halloween Mrs pike asked if daisy wanted to go trick or treating with her she didn’t want to but her mum was behind her and she said yes

A nostalgic read. I used to read the Daisy books. This one is newer but I am not sure how that compares in the grand scheme when you consider also that its been like 15 years since I read the last one.

Still. Pretty good. Simple easy to read and she complains a lot which is great. An index of complaints. Wonderful.

i used to love the daisy picture books (especially daisy eat your peas) when i was young, and now my sister reads these daisy books and so i had to check them out for the nostalgia…

This is the first book from the 'Daisy and the trouble with...' series that my daughter and I have shared and I have to say, it's one of the best books we've shared together. Wonderful characterisations, very funny in places and just enough spooky suspense to keep my daughter on the edge of her seat. It must be good because my daughter was a little bit frightened by it but at the same time, she thought it was funny and was a bit glum when we got to the end. We'll definitely be reading more of Ken Casey's 'Daisy' books.

I read this book because my friend recommended it to me. This book is about Halloween. Daisy and her classmates are looking forward to it. Occasionally, Daisy heard a story about vampires by her classmate and best friend Jack at school, so Daisy was very excited to look for vampires. I like this book because her writing is very interesting and fits our age to read.

My son and I really enjoyed this book as a bedtime read-aloud. It is funny and a tiny bit scary - the perfect balance for a 7 year old. Jack keeps telling Daisy scary stories in the run-up to Halloween and Daisy’s imagination is running away with her, even though she knows she shouldn’t listen to Jack.

A sweet spooky Halloween treat. It has all the Daisy hallmarks. Kes Grey's lively text bounces along and creates a nice amount of tension and is superbly matched by Nick Sharatt's illustrations. These are great books for those wanting more substance than a picture book. I have used them very effectively with a couple of reluctant readers, and they are fun to read together.

Daisy can't stop listening to Jack Beechwhistle's stores, goes trick or treating with her neighbour and ruins her house.

My daughter and I read this together. It's incredibly funny and keeps you entertained.

Finished reading this with my grandchild today. It was such a fun read. Daisy going trick or treating with Mrs Pike is hilarious. We just laughed reading this book. Keeping the book to read later in the year again for Halloween.
