I stole her to make a baby… Wrong? Hell yeah, it’s wrong. Wise guys never live by the rules, but there’s one you don’t break.
I’m not a damn bit sorry. I’m done with one-night stands. I need a family to call my own. A wife. A kid.
I found the perfect girl: Sarah. The second I felt her curves, I knew she was destined to be mine. It’s been explosive since we met, and it’s only getting hotter. I won’t stop until she’s carrying my baby.
One problem—she’s engaged to an abusive bastard. Sal. The man next in line to become my boss. He doesn’t deserve the girl or the job. And ever since I took Sarah, he’s out for blood.
She wants to leave him, so we made a pact: protection for a baby.
I know it’s wrong.
Ask me again if I care.
Bring it.
Author's Note: This is the second book in the Spada Crime Family series but is a standalone novel. For a limited time this copy of Wrong includes the first book in the series, Filthy!
This is the second book in this series and can be read as a standalone.
Nick saves Sarah from Sal, a fellow member of the Spada crime family. He's watched Sal be abusive and is unable to fight the attraction that he and Sarah have for each other. He makes Sarah an offer, his protection for her agreeing to give him a child. He's ready to settle down and wants to start a family. Sarah really has no choice but to accept considering Sal is her other option. Sal isn't so quick to agree to this plan.
I wasn't sure how I felt about Nick at first, but decided I liked his character. He cared more about Sarah than he was willing to admit and was determined to protect her. Sarah was okay as a heroine but her decision making skills lacked and drove me a little crazy. I'm not a fan of the stupid heroines who continually put themselves in danger and are too naive for their own good.
When I purchased this story, the first book Filthy was also included.
The overall book was good. The beginning was too unrealistic though. The way both Hs went right to their 'relationship' was so damn fast. And I didn't really like the heroine.. she had the potential to be the kind of female characters I like... you know... strong, independent ...Sarah was almost strong.. she was even sassy but she was like the ultimate damsel in distress. She was smart as told by the book but the way she kept getting herself in dangerous situation really pissed me off.
For the way she went about her business.. It was all wrong to me.... perhaps because personally I would never sell myself for my dream job... ever. So it was not appeal to me when I read about a woman who sell herself to a man in exchange for him supporting her business financially. Actually that did not sound bad at all in a normal relationship... even marriage.. husband/wife help support their significant others' business financially. But when one actually had sex with a person you didn't even like... who was violent and hit you and not supporting you in anything... it was all wrong to continue to stay with him and I was glad she got out of it.. But I didn't like that she need another man to help her. From the way I saw it, if Nick didn't come into her life, she would probably never change or try to escape. But I guess sometimes, one just need a trigger to make a change and Nick was Sarah's trigger and ultimate rescuer.
And although she seemed smart enough to see that she escaped a death trap into a possible another one. She still went with him anyway.
In the end, the book was actually pretty good in explaining the reasonable whys. the story was eventually okay.

Sarah made a deal with the devil when it came to saving her struggling bakery. Moving in with Sal, was a mistake she wants out of desperately but she is indebted to him financially and has no way out. When she meets Nick at a party with Sal, instant chemistry surrounds them and Sarah pays for it with Sal hitting her once again.
Nick seeks out Sarah, he can't get her out of his head. As they succumb to the passion between them , Sarah believes she has found a protector. However Nick has his own plan in place, a baby and taking out the number two in command.
I wanted to like this but it was a bit all over. I think maybe if the characters had developed a bit more before the story fully unfolded, it was a bit quick before they jump into bed together. Would check out the first book as I have seen good reviews on it and am curious.
Wrong: A Bad Boy Romance by Katherine Lace This is the first time I am reading this author. The introduction to her characters is easy and you understand the mind frame of the mobster Nick. Whilst he is not a good man by no means, he does have a soft spot for Sarah. Sarah has a sweet nature and you will feel for the situation she has found herself in. The question is “Out of the frying pan, into the fire”. Nick propositions Sarah to protect her, but is the proposition any different to what she finds herself in at the moment. The only difference is that she is very attracted to Nick and the chemistry is off the walls. Nick seems to be her saving hero on numerous occasions all while fighting for position in the Spada family. This was a good read and I enjoyed the story of Sarah and Nick. There was lots of excitement and this book had lots of drama with a strong storyline – I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more.
A fluid prose eases the reader into the characters' frame of mind in a very convincing manner. I loved Nick's inner dialogue. He's a bad man, a mobster who's done his share of crimes. Yet his weakness for the damsel in distress was so charming. I fell for both his craving for her beauty and his attraction to her warm, sweet nature. Despite this man's dark deeds, he rises as a kind of crooked hero to the rescue.
It's not as pink-sweet as it seems. There's a harsh, cold deal between Nick and Sarah while a dangerous rival mobster poses threat after threat to them. Yet their business relationship is no match for the extremely hot chemistry burning up between them. I must say that the man's intent to become a daddy was a real turn-on. Lately I've been craving this kind of stories :-D After all, the method to get a family involves lots of bedroom action. And in this novel, I loved how the heat builds up to the most sensuous, primal claiming of the flesh. Thankfully, feelings start to sprout, slowly but in the most comforting way.
Not only is the double POV nice and cozy, the mobster life is ever present in the story as it's the reason Sarah is in this mess between two wise men. Of course, I enjoyed the steamy times immensely, yet I was also very happy to read about Nick's work and ambitions. That brought about quite a bunch of scenes full of action and vengeance. He's dominant and bossy, but he's always respectful toward Sarah, and I loved that.
With a thrilling and sweet ending, this second novel in the Spada Crime Family saga has proved to me that I'm a fan of this author's for life.
Eh. This one didn't do it for me. More to follow..
This is the second book in the Spada Crime Family series however it has nothing at all to do with the first book, barely a mention of those events, and ultimately that was not a good thing for me.
Sarah is an absolute fool who sold her body and soul to Sal, next in line as Spada Family Crime Boss, to save her struggling bakery. She was just NOT SMART. When you take a loan from the mafia - THEY OWN YOU AND YOUR BAKERY. Nick, also a member of the family witnesses Sal mistreating Sarah in public and decides that she needs out - so he decides to steal her and make her his wife and get her pregnant ASAP. (Apparently Nick at 36 years old wants a family NOW and thinks he has no time to actually court anyone). Sarah - desperate to getaway from abusive Sal, basically trades one mobster for the other.
My problem with the story isn't even this ridiculous plot. It's Sarah. I hated her. All she did was make dumb decisions, cry and whine. I have NO CLUE why Nick even wanted her. And not once throughout this whole story did I feel like they were remotely in love.
Book 1 was so surprisingly good, and this one was surprisingly disappointing.
That said - I do like the authors writing style, with giving us peaks of the characters inner thoughts, so I would def try her next work.
“You’re mine now…and you’re going to have my baby.”
WRONG: A BAD BOY ROMANCE opened with a real bang and gave me serious heart palpitations! Katherine Lace’s second book in the Spada Crime family series has all the makings of a gripping mafia romance novel: A fiercely protective mobster hero who swoops in to rescue a beautiful damsel in distress. An evil rival out for vengeance. Murder, mayhem, action and suspense. Plus a plethora of mouthwatering sex!
There is discontent reverberating throughout the Spada Crime Family organization and people are jockeying for power. Our cool, ultra-suave hero, Nick Angelino, sets his sights on taking over once past-his-prime Mob kingpin Phil Spada steps down…or is forced out. The only thing standing in his way is Salvatore De Luca, the mob boss’s right hand man. So what’s a power hungry Nick to do? Why, steal his rival’s girl right from under his nose, discredit him in the organization, and take his rightful place at the top of the empire of course! And as luck would have it, Sal’s arm candy, Sarah Corelli, is drop dead gorgeous and sexy as sin. When he shares a sultry dance with the brunette beauty, the combustible chemistry between them threatens to consume them both! But it’s more than pure physical sexual attraction that draws him to the beautiful, porcelain-skinned young woman. She has an air of vulnerability that arouses his every protective instinct.
Sarah’s whole world is spiraling out of control. All she ever wanted was a little bakery to call her own, but she sold her soul so she could fulfill her lifelong dream. But Sal is not living up to his end of the bargain, and she now she’s stuck with a floundering business and a crazy, abusive, volatile boyfriend whom she’s terrified of. So the way Nick sees it, this is a win-win for them both. He’d be doing Sarah a favor by whisking her away from her miserable life. She deserves a real man…someone who will keep her safe and warm, protect her to his last dying breath. He imagines her in his home, his bed, her belly swollen with his unborn baby. Truth is, he’s not getting any younger and after the tragic loss of his father, he yearns for a family of his own. An heir to carry on his business, his legacy. So after Sal blindsides her with a public wedding proposal and she runs off in tears, Nick gallantly goes after her, takes her gently in his arms, and strikes a deal with the distraught young woman. He’ll keep her safe and save her beloved bakery—and in return she’ll be all HIS. Feeling the walls closing in, she takes Nick up on his offer and just hopes that she can trust him. Only one itty bitty problem. Nick forgot to mention that in exchange for his protection, she’s gotta agree to have his baby. But being blackmailed into having Nick’s child is the least of their problems. Sal is on the warpath now that Nick has stolen what’s his and is trying to badmouth him to the mob boss. As danger and dissension rises in the Spada Crime Family empire, it’s anyone’s guess who will be the last mobster—or pregnant mama- standing.
I think that Katherine Lace did a fine job with her second novel. The characters are engaging, the plot is fast paced and dramatic, and my attention was sustained through. And I just adored Nick! He is the quintessential mafia bad boy who lives by a strict code of honor. I enjoyed the different facets to him as well. He is fierce and formidable-- downright feral--in protecting is own, but so chivalrous and tender with the heroine it melted my heart. I fell for him---hard--and found it particularly touching how extra careful and gentle he was with her, considering her abusive past relationship. She was so used to being physically and emotionally abused by Sal, and braced herself for more of the same from her new suitor when conflict arose. But although he enjoyed dominating in the bedroom, he proved to be nothing like her dastardly ex, the complete opposite in fact. Turns out this big, bad mobster had a swoony sensitive side that left her—and us!--breathless for more.
Another highlight for me was the mafia melodrama, especially the fierce rivalry between Nick and that whacko Sal. It was pure fun watching those two bitter foes fighting over the girl and vying for the top spot in the organization. Campy, over-the-top mafia mayhem at its best!
That’s not to say the book was flawless. Although I enjoyed the sexy sparks between Nick and Sarah, the heroine admittedly got on my nerves on more than once occasion! She was kind of an emotional wreck throughout the book. Constantly crying and in need of comfort, but also incredibly stubborn and set in her ways, as well, defying Nick’s orders and repeatedly putting both their lives at risk. I actually thought Nick was way to lenient when she disobeyed his orders, and wished that he would have laid down the law more sternly so she wouldn’t keep making the same foolish mistakes over and over again. While I got why making the bakery a success was so important her…it was her chance to prove that she wasn’t a failure...her obsessive fixation over the business got old after a while. It was a constant source of tension between them and I kind of wish there had been a more compelling catalyst that brought them together and caused strife in their relationship.
I also had trouble connecting emotionally with Sarah because of her lack of faith in Nick pretty much till the end of the book. It was disappointing that as their relationship appeared to evolve, and Nick proved his devotion toward her time and again, her feelings for him remained oddly ambivalent. He brought her to the heights of passion night after night, risked his life for her, went out of his way to make her feel special and cared for and worthy of love. But still she stubbornly refused to believe that he had genuine feelings for her and was just using her as a means to an end? Why? Sorry his actions and her subsequent reactions did no compute.
I think part of the problem was that their entire relationship seemed to either revolve around the bakery, mob warfare or the business of making a baby. Perhaps if there was more between them romantically than just hot, torrid sex I would have been more emotionally engaged. Overall, I feel there were a few too many bedroom romps (so many in fact I ended up skimming after a while), and not enough soulful, emotionally-driven exchanges showcasing them as a couple falling irresistibly in love. Also I would have like to have gotten to know Nick a little better. We know that his family legacy is important to him, but it never went beyond that. I would have loved for the author to have included a scene where Sarah accompanied him during a visit to see his mom in the nursing home. That would have been a wonderful intimacy building block in their relationship, seeing firsthand how sweet and tender he was with his mom, and subsequently losing her heart to him more in the process.
Overall, I felt there were a few missed opportunities along those lines to further develop these two as a couple, infuse more emotional layers to their interactions, and heighten romantic tension. I hate to say it, but even though the big explosive showdown at the end was incredibly riveting and ended on a high note, the romantic aftermath felt underwhelming in comparison. I kept waiting with baited breath for THE MOMENT…you know, that big, grandiose outpouring of emotion between the two of them once the danger passed, but the happy reunion was so rushed that if you blinked you would have missed it. Ultimately, I wish that Ms. Lace would have played out more emotional beats between them at the end for better romantic payoff. (She did include a sexy final chapter after the baby was born, but I consider that more of an epilogue than a romantic denouement.) Finally, I thought the author made some rookie missteps in terms of plausibility. If Nick is supposedly so fiercely overprotective of Sarah, why was she always left unguarded? You would think a man of his high ranking position within the crime organization could afford to spare a couple of bodyguards to watch over his woman when he couldn’t. But apparently not. Bottom line…the concept/writing were stellar, and I really did enjoy the red-hot chemistry between the characters and all the exciting mob drama, but I think this book would have probably have benefited from a strong developmental edit, or at the very least, a team of experienced beta readers who could pinpoint areas in need of improvement.
WRONG: A BAD BOY ROMANCE is a hot, sexy, fast-paced read, and even though I didn’t resonate a much as it could have, I do think Ms. Lace has a bright career ahead of her. She seems quite prolific and has a knack for penning action-packed mafia romances with heart. I have every confidence that she will continue to cultivate her skills as she gets more books under her belt, and look forward to reading more installments in the Spada Crime Family series!
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I read this following Lady and the Champ and although it had a darker tone it was still almost as good as that book IMO. I haven't and don't intend to read the first book in the Scada Mafia series though.
I thought the book was well written. I enjoyed the mafia aspects of the story. They weren't overly detailed or violent like some other mafia books are. I enjoyed it for what it was. I found the heroine Sarah quite likable. I felt bad for her situation and obviously, her choices weren't the best which are what put her in such an undesirable situation. I also really liked the hero Nick. Even though the book blurb gives off the vibe that he stole her and forced her hand in getting what he wants: a family. I found that it was misleading because that wasn't the case. He did set out to have Sarah for himself, and then upon his attraction to her and his recent father's death he realized he wanted a family for himself, a wife and child of his own to come home to. And because of Sarah's situation with the jerkface Sal, another wise guy in the Scada Mafia, Nick decides to take her for his own. For many reasons, most important being to undermine Sal and make him look weak, but also because he wanted Sarah for himself and he knew he could keep her safe. Sal was an evil bastard and he didn't like that Sal treated her like trash.
Their attraction wasn't instant in the sense it was like BAM there's the spark, but it was there from the beginning. There wasn't any insta-love or the over the top insta-gotta-sex-you-up vibes either. They did jump right into a sexual relationship rather quickly but it somehow didn't feel that quick to me even though it had only been maybe a week since their first "official" meeting I think.
I thought Sarah and Nick were super cute together. I enjoyed the build-up of their relationship. It wasn't much of one even after their first night together but it grew and evolved into something more tangible and real. It wasn't all puppies and flowers romance, but Nick was a sweetheart with Sarah. Always holding her close and kissing her forehead which I found so endearing. It allowed him to come across in a more realistic way for me. Most mafia books carry the heroes in the vein of being a cocky jerk for the most part but even when they're with the women they still remain cocky but don't usually soften much or at all. That wasn't the case with Nick. He was still plenty cocky and full of himself at times but he was sensitive enough to read Sarah well enough that he knew how to approach certain things with her. It created a normal sort of intimacy between them.
The book was for the most part predictable with the actual mafia part of the storyline. Mostly I enjoyed Nick and Sarah's interactions and relationship growth. The sex was steamy and hot. The ending was satisfying and the last chapter was perfect. I enjoyed it.
I loved the story of Nick and Sarah ,Sarah didn't know that Nick would really change her life for the better.Nick also didn't expect to fall in love with her it had alot if suspense and action it was exciting wonderful.
This was a great follow up to the Spada family. I loved seeing how the story progressed and Sarah learned to trust herself as much as Nick and that dreams change and evolve.
This book was "middle of the road" for me. I didn't love it. Yet, I didn't hate it either. It's a short read and it still took me 2 days to complete it. Which says a lot. It was somewhat dull This book left me with questions. I'll explain, but they will contain SPOILERS, so beware...
It's never explained WHY these two men wanted her so much. There isn't any mention of it at all. It wasn't her sparkling personality, trust me. Apparently, she was pretty, but beyond that, nothing. She can apparently cook, but besides her stirring sauce for spaghetti in the very beginning, that was it. Even after she shacks up with Nick, she never cooks. She owns a failing bakery, which is what the story is based around, but besides her punching some dough on a table, it really seemed to be ran mainly by her assistant. We hear nothing about what made her such a obsession. She even asks Sal why he wants her, and all he can say is, "Because you're mine!" He even spends the night with mafia hookers instead of her. And with Nick, he sees her and wants her. Apparently, so bad he puts his life on the line and steals her. Why?? I just didn't get it. I needed to be shown -or even told, what made her so special. She kept ignoring Nicks warnings and making TSTL decision, needing rescuing EVERY time. Every time!! I wanted to like her, wanted to feel sorry for her, but I just ended up giving up. Especially at the end...She walks through the door or her house -holding her brand new BABY, and instantly knows something is wrong. She's not alone. So what does she do? Turn around and safely secure her baby boy into the car and leave? No. She investigates with her eight-week-old son on her shoulder. She's married to a Mob Boss and had recently barely survived (several) vicious attacks. Again, TSTL right up to the end. Luckily, this last intruder was Nick, so phew... But still.
I also couldn't figure out why Nick didn't just directly shoot Sal when he busted into the burning bakery to (again) save the h. He had his gun already pointed at him and could have taken him down in 1 second flat. Instead, he decided to engage in conversation which led to him dropping his own gun on the floor 20 seconds after entering.
It was odd little things like this that made this book fall flat for me. The sex scenes were also flat, but that's just a personal opinion.
If you're looking for a softer mafia book, not too explicit sex scenes, a non-alpha type male. (Nick was soft and considerate, asking if she was ok when they were having sex) Than this is one you should try. It just wasn't my preferred kind of story.
I received this for a honest review. Author did a great job on this story. I can honestly say since I have not read book one that book 2 works fine as a standalone. I had not issue following along.
I loved Nicholas Angelino. He has ambition and knows what he wants. He is willing to do everything in his power to get to where he wants to be. The moment he sees Sarah is the moment he knows he wants her. He hates the way her boyfriend Sal treats her. Plus he sees away to move up if he has her.
Sarah is in a relationship that she does not want to be in. She feels trapped. She fears Sal and for good reason. I love her secret revenge like letting the dog lick the spoon. She does harmless things to get back at Sal. Sal has plans for Sarah. Things Sarah really does not want.
When Nick offers Sarah a way out she knows she needs to take it, but is the price to great. Sal wanted marriage but Nick wants a family. Is Sarah willing to give Nick the baby he wants. Sal is mean and curl but Nick seems understanding and tender.
The bakery is everything to Sarah. It is something that Sal wants to take away from her. Sal wants to control every expect of her life. Nick on the other hand wants to give Sarah a little control and give her the bakery she always wanted.
There is a war breaking out among the mafia family. Sal is causing all kinds of trouble. Sal is mad that the boss has allowed Nick to keep Sarah. He feels the boss is weak. Nick is having problems keep Sarah safe. It is almost like Sarah does not realize the danger she is in because she has a habit of putting herself in danger. Can Nick and Sarah have that happy every after?
Nick and Sarah start an unusual relationship when they meet and Nick is instantly drawn to her. Sarah is with Sal but seems quite unhappy. My issue with Sarah throughout this book was her ridiculous idea that she "owned" the bakery and Sal just loaned her the money. She sold her body (literally) and soul for this bakery and can't quite seem to grasp that Sal isn't a nice person (after all he did hit her in public in front of all of his mafia co-workers) and knows that he keeps other women on the side. Sarah's woe is me got old real fast for me. Nick steps in and decides he wants to help Sarah and also get the heir he decided he now needs after the death of his father. Sarah agrees and then makes even dumber decisions than she previously did. I did not understand how if she was in fear of Sal, she would think going back to the bakery (multiple times) would be safe. She needed to buy a clue throughout this book and was not even remotely a likable character. Her spreadsheets and calculations should have told her she wasn't making it and she needed a "sugar daddy" to save her again. Nick owned what he wanted from the beginning and stuck to his word to Sarah. He found himself having to save her over and over again. I understand wanting to be successful, but selling your body and soul for it and then not having the epiphany that you could rebuild in another location was just too much for me to understand. Sarah's mind was a terrible place to be. Overall a decent ending but I would have like to have seen Sarah have to work for what she got and not be given her dream by Nick after all of her stupidity and recklessness.
I could not put this book down! I was literally up until 5am, reading, telling myself "After this chapter, I'm going to sleep." The chapter would end, I'd glance at the clock.."2am...that's not too bad, maybe 5 more minutes." 45 minutes later, and I'm like, "OK, after reading Nick's section, I'm done for the night! Do you hear me book! We're done for the night!!!" And 2 hours later, I was still reading. Smh This was THAT kind of book!
The story continues from her first book FILTHY, but you can completely read this as a standalone with no problems. Though, FILTHY is included as a bonus because this author rocks like that. Both mafia romance, neither has a cliffhanger, so you're well satisfied by the end of the story. So awesome!
I can honestly say I liked the heroine. Often it's the hero that sells the story for me, and I'm wondering why in the h*ll he's bothering with the annoying a$$ heroine. She wasn't annoying at all, and was actually someone I could relate to on a personal level. Love those types of characters!
I also really enjoyed how the relationship played out. It wasn't insta-love, which can sometimes make your head spin with the speed from "Hi, my name is.." to "I'd die for you!!". As left field as the terms of the relationship are (which are explained in the blurb), it didn't play out in a way that made me cringe and say "Pffftt...whatever." It was all laced together quite nicely.
I will definitely continue following this author. It seems her work just gets better and better! Thank you for this read!
This book is more 3.5 stars then a solid 4. I gave the 1st book a solid 4 stars because I loved Cain and Jessica. That wasn't so much the case in this book.
In Wrong we meet out H, Nick and our h, Sarah. Sarah screwed up. She pretty much ends up trading her life away to one of the worst guys ever. He was controlling and mentally and physically abusive. Nick sees her at a party with Sal (the guy she is with). He is instantly attracted to her but also wants to take her from the Sal (Who is the 2nd in command). Nick offers to help Sarah with her dream and protect her from Sal if she leaves him and they are together. Nick isn't just doing this out of the goodness of his heart, he wants a baby. Who is Sarah to choose, the man who is abusive or the one that wants to use her for a baby?
Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of Nick at first. His wanting to take Sarah to get back at Sal just didn't work for me. I resented him for using Sarah as a pawn. Later I began to like Nick much more. He wanted to take care of Sarah while also helping her reach her dreams. Now Sarah I never liked. Not once. She risked everything, her life and Nick's, for a bakery. It just didn't endear me to her at all.
This is the 2nd book I have read by this author and I will continue to read her books. I can easily get lost in her Mob world and I LOVE the Dual POV.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review
this is the second book by this author and I am beyond excited! I loved this book! it was awesome love me them crime family, gangster books...who doesn't love their bad boys!?!
Sarah got herself attached to Sal, a mafioso, who is an a$$h*l@ he beats her and verbally abuses her. he told her he would lend her the money to start a bakery and she ended up living with him. he throws a birthday dinner party for her and announces to all that they're getting married without so much as a question if she wanted to or not. Nick is also a mafioso and he wants Sarah for himself. he wants to steal her from Sal which will make him lose face in the mafia but he also wants Sarah for reasons he can't understand. on the night of her engagement to Sal, Nick finds her sobbing in a closet and they make whoopie. from there he takes her home and tells her he will protect her and her bakery from Sal...she only has to agree to give him a baby. Nick is tired of his one night stands; he wants a woman to come home to and he wants children, a legacy. Nick also wants to take over as the head boss man of the mob and puts a plan in motion this story is one you won't be able to put down, I read it in one sitting definitely recommend to any and all
Is this seriously only Katherine Lace's second book? Wow! I got the opportunity to do an arc for her first book and it was a good debut but this one was a lot better! Sarah tries to prove her parents she is not a failure but when she starts to have problems paying off her loans she makes a deal with Sal. Sal is ruthless and I seriously disliked his character! I wanted to get inside the book and hit him a few times lol! He seriously had no respect for no one not even his boss! Nick is very confident and has his own agenda. He and Sarah are attracted to each other and when he flirts with her it gets her in trouble. Having witnessed Sal being abusive to Sarah, Nick feels rage and protective of her. This is where the story begins but I don't want to give out spoilers so you'll have to read the rest! One thing I can say is that Sarah and Nick's chemistry was really hot! The scenes were very steamy! This book does end with a hea and there is no angst which is good too. Although this is the second book in the series it can be read as a standalone! I can't wait for Katherine's next book! Love these mafia boys!
I tried to enjoy this book, but it was a bit difficult for me. How many times does Sarah need to be told NOT to go out of the house, or go to the bakery? It's ridiculous to the point I could make a drinking game out of it- though I'd probably black out before the end.
"I know now that this isn’t my fault. Unlike other messes I’ve gotten myself into, this time I really did everything I could."
Wait. Wait. Wait. Waitwaitwait Wait! It WAS your fault. It was completely your fault. Remember when you were told stay in the house and set the alarm? Nope? Figured as much. She is one of those people I think we should lift all restrictions on, tell her to do whatever she wants, and let nature take it's course.
"Maybe I’ve learned something. Too bad it’s far too late." Well bless her little heart! Poor thing is delusional as well as stupid.
I could have really enjoyed the book if it weren't for this. I'd try another book by the author, but if the h is anything similar to this one, she'll be on my blacklist of authors.
It was a very quick read so I really didn't get the time to connect to the characters or plot. I just needed a little more to relate. Also, I prefer my heroines to be strong and intelligent...sadly Sarah was not.
******Mild Spoilers I mean really she gives herself to Sal to build a bakery that's failing... She is miserable but stays to prove a point that she's not a failure....umm you gave away your body and soul for pastries...doesn't sound like winning. Then she immediately jumps into the same situation with Nick...but that's ok because he's nicer and the sex is good. Ugh. Also, how many times does Nick tell her to stay home, she doesn't and she gets into a bad situation...over a bakery. Smh ********
Nick was smooth I give the author that, she pulled off Nicks character, but that made the book okay. Storyline needed a little beefing up but not much you can do with a novella. All in all it wasn't great, it wasn't horrible... It was an okay read. Don't know if I would read more from this author.
Nick is a ferocious made man, planning to head the family. Only if a certain someone wasn’t standing in his rightful place. For Nick life isn’t the same as before, nothing appeals, keeps his fascination. Somethings missing, but what? Men I swear! Sarah’s found herself in a scary bad way. Any & all choices mean an outcome; even if means regretting every choice you’ve ever made in life, getting to where you are at that point in your life. To meet ‘that somebody who you know will change you, save you from the world only to make it spin for the better!! Gosh, it’s love at first sight for Nick & Sarah only to not be the wiser until both are in too deep. They have to fight to keep what they want, not letting anyone get between what they’ve bargained for; even if it was for the wrong reasons. This could cause a hella war! I was graciously gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.
nothing really wrong with this author's writing, i just hated the female character. she makes less sense than the male. the sum of her qualities is that she's useless and i couldn't root for her. i didn't want her happy ending , i didn't want someone to save her. she didn't need saving. she quite literally chose to get her ass kicked- for no reason. she chose to spit in the face of her saviour and keeps dragging him into her shit while acting like he owes her something. quite frankly i find her lazy. if she had simply applied herself in a different way instead of asking for a handout, she would not have been in a mess. i'm also tired of hearing these female characters talk about how they only had a few partners. it is a really unnecessary statement and sends us back centuries. it is also VERY redundant and implicates that there is some sort of outline that EVERY unoriginal author follows.

Wow, this author is truly writing her butt off because this is an awesome addition to a great story Filthy. This is an intriguing story full of secrecy, and action which starts at the beginning of the story until the very end. It is the story of Nick and Sarah, I truly loved both characters especially the heroine and how their relationship came together and it had a lot of depth that I don't see in a lot of Mafia novel. Nick was one of the greatest true alpha-male IMO, Someone should've grab Sal by his BALLS and clipped them off;) Their scenes will leave you breathless as well as on needles and pins with curiosity. The drama was at an all time high, and the mafia backdrop only heightened it's appeal. I'm looking forward to the next addition and overall, an amazing read and I highly recommended!!
Did not like the characters in the first book and dnf'd before 10% but I'd already downloaded this from Kindle Unlimited. Happy to report it was better.
I'm new to "mafia" romances and I've dnf'd 2 before, this is the first I've finished. The characters actually had some development and the love scenes were hot. While there was a lack of emotion during most of the story the H & h were tender towards each other. Would have been nice to have some good conversation but the love scenes were hot.
Sarah is with wise-guy Sal who is an abusive douche. Sexy wise-guy Nick wants her so she winds up under his protection. Sal isn't happy and causes trouble. So I did like it even though the h was tstl a couple of times (leaving and going where she had not protection and running into her ex).
Wrong is the second book in the Spada Crime Family Series. Nick wants to get back at Sal and become second to Spada and the only way to do that is to go after Sal's woman. Sarah is way over her head with Sal she agreed to be his woman to keep her bakery however, things are not going as she hoped. Sal is adusive and he really doesn't want her to succeed. Nick and Sarah have chemistry from the first and when he comes to her when Sal springs on her infront of everyone that they will be married she picks the lesser of the two evils. Nick wants a family and child. Sarah still wants her bakery and so they come to terms. Of course Sal isn't just going take it and threathens to kill them other. Things in the Crime family isn't what it seems. Everything comes to blows before Nick and Sarah tell each other how they really feel. Hoping there is more in this family saga.
I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this bad boy! Nick is sexy, caring and fierce. He gets what he wants and what is wants is Sarah. I'm not really into reading about cheating but when the man is a piece of s*** woman beating thug, then it is not wrong!! He is a savior, although all bad boys want something in return.
The chemistry between them is hot and they have a playful banter that I love...I do wish that the POV would have went back to Nick before the end of the book to get his thoughts. This is the second book I have read from katherine and I have loved both. She writes about the bad boys but they are all softies when it comes to these strong women. Keep writing about this crime family!
Wrong by Katherine Lace was gifted to me in an ARC in exchange for a honest review. Nick and Sarah story was amazing I mean they had everything from passion to lust. Of course every mafia story does not start off so nice and sweet, and there story was not different but at least they got there happy ending. Unfortunately it doesn't come so easy to them. They first have to get rid of Sarah abusive ex who is such a prick who doesn't care for anyone but himself. But once Nick sees his chances to get rid of Sarah ex he takes it, and not only does he get what he always wanted which was a family but he also gets power. I love this series. I really hope its not over. If you have not checked out the Spada series you should read it.
