The Audition, a short story by new author Amy Mallory was a delightful start for her journey into the realms of becoming a new author! This author is one whose work I would like to read more of in the future!
Because this is a short-story, I cannot say much without giving away the story; and where’s the fun in that?
Kaitlin is down on her luck. Circumstances have led her to consider a job outside of her comfort zone. Although complimented that the owner of the company asked her to contemplate the position, but she is still unsure whether or not this job is for her. When she shows up for the interview, a beautiful woman greets her in the lobby…
(Excerpt)
“You must be Kaitlin,” she said as she lifted her hand to take mine, smiling even more brightly than before. “You are quite the beauty, I must say. You’ll fit in around her perfectly.” There was something to be said about getting a compliment from one of the most beautiful women I’d ever seen…
As the conversation progresses, she is told she would need to prove she is willing to give the job her all; hence, the audition...
(Excerpt)
I tilted my head in question and bit my tongue, curious to hear what he had to say…”I think it’s time she met James.”….
James is one completely sexy man. As he auditions her, he seeks to calm her fears…
(Excerpt)
“This is just a moment in time. A means to an end…”…I needed this to work and only I could make that happen. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, giving in to the situation. I told myself that I could not, and would not leave….
I found myself charmed while reading this story. It is not what I expected from a new author; the characters were developed well in a short amount of time. I found myself caring about them. I found myself wishing this was actually a full-length novel because I’d like to “spend more time with them.”
The chemistry between James and Kaitlin was palpable from just these few pages. I could feel the attraction between them as I read, and I wanted more.
I liked the end; I especially liked the end that could be expanded but it could also easily stand on its own. I don’t often really enjoy something so short that can be read so quickly, but this was an exception. I hope this author continues to write; I’d like to read more from her as her career progresses! Good job Ms. Mallory!

Smutty fun. A down and dirty steamy, short little tidbit of naughty goodness. If you’re looking for a quick read with emphasis on the naughty good parts, then this is the story for you. Amy Mallory’s writing is strong and her ability to get you hot and bothered is fierce. These characters know what they want and they go for it, sans clothing.

Kaitlin has some hard decisions to make and her choices may lead her to a dark world or maybe she’ll find a little bit of light in her position between a rock and a hard place. That light may just come in the form of finding herself in a compromising position with an extremely attraction man.

Choices are made and decisions can’t be taken back. Will this new path Kaitlin walks be the destruction of her life as she knows it or the stepping stone to forever? Read The Audition to find out and make sure to turn the air down in your house before you start this hot short-story.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

If this is a debut book for Amy, then she is heading places. Yes, it is very short, but I really enjoyed it. I hope there is more to Kaitlin and James's story. If not, I look forward to reading something else from this author.

Perfect beginning

Amy Mallory truly shines with this her first published work. Kaitlin's audition had me from the very first page. If you like it hot and steamy, look not further. Personally I look forward to many more of Ms Mallory's steamy words.
