So if I was going to divide this book up the first half was 3 stars. The nerd love is the reason I bought this book and what caught me for this plot line. It had the normal debut novel issues.. Excessive use of words/scenes that all said the same thing. But the main part of the story was cute so I overlooked it...

Now the second half.. Holy shitballs I think another author took up the reins here because it went from being pretty cohesive and good to wtf did I just read. So the second half was 0 (not even a 1 people) so equally it out I give it 1.5 but decided to round up since this is a debut novel.

Still the same issues as the first half but also add in sentences that didn't make sense and jumping around. I felt like I was reading a bipolar book. It couldn't make up it's mind!!! The backdrop of the second half was basically Psych Unit meets High School with some LSD thrown in for fun.. It was OFF the wall and not in a good way..

The heroine had FEELS and I mean I thought she would off herself one minute and then she was okie dokie two seconds later it was like reading about a 4 year old temper tantrum. I have rarely read a book with so much whiplash from almost all the characters. I could go on but this is debut author. I liked the idea of the story it just went animal house when she tried to put in the angst and I am just going to leave it at that.

1. Edit
2. Delete a 3rd of the book all those scenes with the same information different backdrop is not needed.
3. Do NOT write angst
4. If you have heavy plot points like abuse in a story it needs to be a center point of your novel not a sidebar if you wish to sidebar it do not make it front and center happening to the character but not having her deal with it... put it in history of the character.
5. Try a romance that doesn't focus on relationship angst. So basically not contemporary romance.

I will give you kudo's... Thank you for making two characters devoted to each other even after meeting online. Knowing the H was faithful to her even without meeting her was a huge plus.

OK and that's it

Ok so I don't really know where to start with this review and apologies if I start to bore but there's ALOT that needs to be said about this book .... To start of I'm going to give you the good bits, What I did like about this book is its female lead Abby is a curvy, fuller figured woman. Because let's face it, not everybody can be a size 8. I did like the blurb of the book and I was really looking forward to reading it.
Now I just want to say that I'm really into my reading and once I get into a book, I get lost in the story and I won't stop reading until I can no longer keep my eyes open. But love me like you was the hardest book I've ever had to read and I had to stop and go back to it several times. For me this book had the potential to be great, a good story line and not the usual slim heroine. But it failed MISERABLY. The writing is very very basic and there's not enough description given to any of the characters. I just couldn't vision anybody.
One minute Abby is 25, the next she is 30?? Very confusing! There's no humour, no depth and bits of information thrown in at really odd times that make no sense. The sex scenes I had to skip because to put it bluntly they was repetitive and boring. The story was also predictable and very fast paced.
The thing that really made me dislike this is that it briefly goes into physical abuse right at the end of the book. But it's taken lightly. There's no hint throughout the book that the physical abuse had occurred and it should of played a bigger part in the story. I don't think that it was thought out properly at all, it seemed to me like it was thrown in to spice it up a bit. And in my opinion if you going to go into that sort of abuse then it needs to be solid and affect the reader. I could go on all day but I don't have the time. All in all this for me is a 1 star book.

I really enjoyed this book it was fast flowing and I had finished it in just a few hours it hooked me straight away. The characters were easy to relate too and and your heart will just break for Abby.

Abby definitely didn't have it easy growing up suffering abuse at the hands of her father and throughout it all she kept it to herself, she was brought up been told she was fat, ugly and that no one would ever want to love her this had a major effect on her self-esteem. She had a close knit circle of friends and also turned to on-line gaming it was a way of making friends and she could really be herself because she would never actually meet them or would she.

Cash Hawthorn along with his sister Sally runs his family's hotel in Florida after their parents were killed in a car accident. Cash turned to the bottle as a way to cope after their death his friend Shawn got him into on-line gamig as a different way to cope.
When Abby and Cash start to become friendly through gaming and then become to know each other on a more personal level textingand calling each other are they just what each other need to help them heal and become the people they deserve to be.
Tissues will be required when reading this book and I'll definitely be looking out for more books from Jamie Russell.

This was a good debut novel by Jamie. I am a gamer nerd and so is my husband so I really loved how these two met. Abby has been told her whole entire life that she isn’t good enough. Everyone has always let her down so when presented with the opportunity to meet Cash in person, she isn’t jumping up and down at the idea, even though he has been there for her for the past year.

Cash runs a hotel and spends all his free time gaming with Abby. Over the past year, he and Abby have developed a relationship and Cash looks at her more than a friend. So when his best friend and her best friends set up a meeting for them he is actually excited to meet the girl who has stole his heart. But Cash just doesn’t realize how damaged Abby really is… can he save her?

I love of course the relationship with Cash and Abby. There connection is amazing even before meeting each other. Abby is hiding a lot of things on the inside and has kept a huge part of her life a secret. At first, Cash doesn’t understand why Abby is the way see is because in his eyes she is the most beautiful woman ever. But when secrets start coming out, Cash understands just how much Abby needs him, but he also needs her just as much. I really hope to see more from these to one day as well as some of the other characters throughout the book.

Reviewed on behalf of 2 girls who love books blog
This book had a real ‘today’ feel about it. It is relevant to the world as it is today while adding in the romantic streak that we all love so much! I enjoyed reading this story simply because gaming is a huge part of many people’s lives now and it was nice to read how it could end up.
The characters are also very real with Abby being a very clever, bright young woman who has very low self-esteem due to abusive parents who try to control everything about her life and her plus size she believes she is unlovable and unwanted. Abby, her best friend Sarah and her brother Max all share an apartment and know of the guy she has been talking to online for over a year and surprise Abby with a trip of a life time that will change her life forever.
Cash Hawthorn was introduced to online gaming after losing his parents. He inherited a hotel along with his sister Sally. He is a lost soul who has sworn off women apart from Abby the girl he met while gaming online. His sister doesn’t approve of his obsession with gaming and the girl who takes up his time on the phone. Cash has issues of his own to deal with including not turning back to a bottle to get through hard times.
There are lots of twists and turns along the way and although for the majority the story is quite predictable it does have parts that you couldn’t have guessed and none of this makes the story any less enjoyable. It is nice to read a romance about people who don’t have perfect figures and in general are not perfect at all, who have flaws and their own secrets without it being over the top. There is a fantastic ‘real feel’ about this story and I loved it from start to finish. Some parts do become a bit repetitive and I did find myself skipping a couple of pages so I didn’t have to read the same words in a sex scene yet again but other than that I really cant fault this book!
If you want a feel good story that proves love can be found no matter where you are from or what you look like then add this story to your TBR list!

Two lost souls find meaning and each other. 3.5 stars

Abigail “Abby” Stephens is a high school history teacher who tries to make history come alive for her students. Due to her father’s belittling, bordering on abuse, she believes she will live her life alone. She loses herself in the on-line gaming world where she has developed friendships that extend into the real world. Cash Hawthorne took over the family hotel when his parents were killed. Even though he has now reached thirty, his sister Sally is over-controlling and questions all his decisions especially in his personal life fearing women will only be after him for his money.

Abby’s friends take her on a “surprise” trip – she knows she is going – just not “where”. They know of her friendship with Cash and arrange for these two to meet. Can an on-line friendship survive a face-to-face meeting? Will Cash turn away from Abby as her father has told her many times any man would? Can Abby escape her father’s reach, and Cash deal with his controlling sister?

A nice first novel for Jaime Russell. It started a little slow for me with many characters introduced. I found the tolerance of the verbal abuse by the dad (with a weekly dinner) suspending belief, and the controlling sister was so overboard at times it also stretched believability. Good story premise. Enjoyed when the characters rose to the occasion – for example when Abby meets Sally for the first time.

Abigail Stephens is a school teacher who is 30, at night she is a gamer. She has been playing with Cash Hawthorne for a year and a half. They now message and sometime call each other. Abby has a lot of hangups because her parents always told her she was ugly and fat and stupid and no one would every want her. Her dad always says she will be someones dirty secret. Her last three year relationship ended when she found out he was married the whole time. He just wanted her on the side. Cash lives in Florida and Abby in Pa. Her best friend suggests a vacation somewhere and she is all in. What she doesn't know is her friend, Sarah, and her brother,Max, are planning a trip to Miami so Abby can meet Cash, but she doesn't know. Cash inherited a hotel from his parents when they died in a crash. His sister, Sally is part owner and also the event planner. She also likes to tell Cash what to do and all women are after his money. When Abby knows they are in Miami she texts Cash and he is excited when he sees they are at his hotel. When they meet stars fly. They have wanted each other for a long time even though they hadn't seen pictures of each other until yesterday. This is a sweet love story with many ups an downs, but if you don't like sex scenes please don't read this one. There are a lot. Sometimes I think too many. The story was very good.

Abby has no self-esteem due to the abuse she has received most of her life from her dad and has hidden away by playing online gaming. In the gaming community, Abby becomes friends with Cash, after talking on the phone, texting and playing online for over a year together they finally get the chance to meet.

Abby was they kind of character that you just want to hug and reassure, she has some amazing friends who help her but they don’t know all there is to know about Abby. Being a school teacher, Abby always has a story to tell about a student.

Cash is the kind of guy anyone would swoon over. He is the perfect match for Abby and it helps that he is hot!

I loved how real the book felt. Some people couldn’t get their heads around two people falling for each other when they hadn’t even seen each other BUT this book proves that looks aren’t everything.

After they meet, I did find the book extremely fast pasted. At times I wanted to take a breather as information was flying round left, right, and centre. Some of the story seemed a little out of context, if some parts of their story would have been told sooner it would have made this book amazing but it’s all there! There was also a hell of a lot of sex going on, so much so that even I felt a little sore from it lol

Having said that, it was a really good debut novel!

Well welcome to the book world Jaime. She is a brand new author with a debut novel that is sure to be a hit among romance readers. This book kept me glued to the pages from start to finish. This author definitely has talent and I cannot wait to see more from her in the near future.

Amazing book. This book was so good and kept me on my toes throughout the entire time. It was sexy, sweet, fun, passionate, steamy, and made me swoon a lot. Cash and Abby gave us a beautiful romance that was intense, engaging and completely captivating from the first word.

This is Abby and Cash's story. Abby is damaged. Broken and jaded, she knows she will never be someone to someone. Cash is the man who is going to change the way she looks at herself. He is going to show her love. It won't always be easy but a love like they have is worth the fight.

Oh man! I loved Cash and Abby. This book was so sweet and had a great message underneath it all. I think we could all relate to Abby. Man did she deserve love and everything it offered. I loved how these two met... the bond they developed.... the chemistry they had... oh and the steam, HOT!

I recommend this book.

Abby & Cash meet while gaming online & start up a friendship that has lasted a year & a half without even knowing what either person looks like. They enjoyed talking to each other so much that it didn't even matter. As time progresses their friendship turns into so much more. I loved that they couldn't even go a few hours without having some sort of contact whether it be a text, a phone call or chatting while gaming. They finally meet and dive head first into an intense & very passionate relationship. I like sweet stories but I love them when the author turns up the heat between the H & h & that is exactly what happened between Abby & Cash. Both characters have their own demons to overcome and I could relate to both but more so Abby. Let me just say that I read purely for entertainment, in saying that I have never read a book where I have been able to connect on such a level with a character that it felt almost real. This book had me smiling, crying, laughing & staying up way too late & left me feeling wistful, happy, hopeful & hungry for more. I will definitely be reading Jaime's next book. Fingers crossed I don't have to wait too long :)

The first time I read through this book, I did so as a proofreader/beta reader and LOVED to whole concept of the story! The story definitely needed some work and at the time I still had made up my mind that once Jaime got through edits and all the other changes that she was going to make, I was buying this book to re-read. Well when it was released I did buy the book! Only problem was I was just to damn busy reading ARC's and helping out a multitude of other authors that I was not able to get to it right away. But I had to get it read because I want to read the second book of her Love Me Series! After re-reading this book, I fell in love with it all over again. I love a book that can bring out a sh!tload of emotions in me as I read it, and this book certainly did that! At times it made my heart ache and at others it pissed me off! But the most important one is the feeling of love I got from Abby and Cash. The story flowed nicely and did not stall out like some books do. I think the characters are well developed and I definitely felt like I could relate to them. I look forward to reading book 2!

I liked this story. There were some editing mistakes which were a little distracting, but I can be a stickler about things like that. I liked the story line, although it was predictable, it was also different in its own way too. There were a few story lines that seemed a little far fetched, like the relationship between Abby and her parents, mainly her mother. I feel like it could have been a little less...strange? And the relationship between Cash and Sally....it flipped from being very tense and strained to perfect in less than a page, and that was weird.
I recommend this book to everyone who loves sexy and hot romances! Get it and read it. I bet you will find something to like about it! I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review.

If you're looking for a different type of romance story to read, this is it! This is a clever, bittersweet, poignant story of big girl Abby who's been fat shamed all her life by those she thought would offer her unconditional love. This leads to her retreating into the world of Internet gaming, and never trusting she was worthy of meeting someone in person who would truly love her. During one such gaming session, she meets Cash and they slowly develop this internet relationship that leads to feelings she's never felt before for anyone. Except they've never seen what the other looks like. Is love blind? Don't miss this read to find out!

Cash is my new book boyfriend

Great first book for this new author!! A few redundancies in the story but felt like I could overlook those because the story was still great!! Loved the few twists and turns and Abby's parents better not be in any future books. They are horrible people!! Can't believe they treat their daughter the way they do!! Loved the epilogue because of the twist at the very end!! Again, great first book!

I had a hard time with this one for so many reasons and just couldn’t finish it.

First, what adult woman you know talks to a guy online or on the phone for 2 years without EVER looking him up? Especially if they have details such as his full name, phone number, occupation, and residency. Trust me, any woman would have been looking him up inside a week or two. And her friends and brother find him in 3 days with just that information and never having talked to him?!? Come on!!

The other thing that’s preposterous is the fact that when they got to the hotel she didn’t put 2 and 2 together about where they were at. Hello!! The hotel has his last name. They’ve talked about him and that he works at a hotel. I’m sure there are signs everywhere that she could have read with the hotel name on it. You know....his name. So you mean to tell me she didn’t figure it out? This had me rolling my eyes so hard.

Second, I didn’t like the way these characters talked. Cash came across like a whiny kid sometimes for someone who was 30, had been a lawyer, and was now a business owner. Abby wasn’t any better. It didn’t feel like I was reading a book about adults at all.

Third, time was a little hard to understand. The way the book started off, I got the impression that Cash and Abby were in 2 different time zones. Later on it’s revealed that he’s in Florida and she’s in Pennsylvania. Uhm, that’s the same damn time zone. That threw me way off.

Then comes the passage of time itself. There were no pauses or breaks to demonstrate passage of time. Things are just thrown together from one sentence to the next in such a way that it made things too confusing to follow.

And lastly, the book needs a proper edit. The mistakes were getting on my nerves so much that I started editing what I read. Not exactly what you want to be doing while reading for leisure.

And let me just say, once and for all - commas matter, people. There’s a difference between:

Let’s eat grandma.

And

Let’s eat, grandma.

Can you fall in love with someone you've never met? Someone you know from playing a computer game? Someone you've talked to on the phone but never seen? Not even a picture? This is such a nice book. I love Abby and Cash, and how they met. They both have issues from their pasts - her abusive upbringing is just heartbreaking, and is life spiraled out of control for a while after his parents died - and they work hard to try to overcome everything. I love Abby's unique relationship with Max, her adopted brother, and how the two of them have forged their own little family with her best friend Sarah. It was the sweetest thing ever when Max and Sarah, along with Rob and Aaron, conspire to ensure that she and Cash meet in person. Cash's sister Sally seems to run hot and cold, but most of the time, she's bossy and demanding, and not at all nice to Abby. It's hard to like her most of the time. This book is long, longer than I expected based on other books from this author. At time, I felt like I'd been reading forever. The story moves along and doesn't drag at all, it's just long. Overall, this was a really nice book to read, and I'm looking to the rest of this series.

Love Me Like You Do is the first book in a series and for me it is a very powerful story.

The two main characters are Abby and Cash. Abby's been so emotionally abused all her life that her self-esteem really is shot to hell.

But Abby isn't the only one with issues. Cash has his own to deal with and with the help of Abby's best friend, brother, and Cash's sister (despite her MEAN STREAK and issues of her own) and his bff and a co-worker, these two manage to work past those issues.

Why I love this book -

I loved how close Abby, Sarah, and Max are as friends. The family dynamic you built for Abby and Max to show how SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT NOT TELLING YOU GO READ THE BOOK was intriguing to me. The SPOILER ALERT at the beginning of the book did have me wondering if he was also SPOILER ALERT and when you introduced that later in the story, I cried for her, for Marshall, and for Max. When Cash learned of the SPOILER ALERT WHY HAVEN'T YOU ONE CLICKED AND STARTED READING THE BOOK YET? , I actually almost dropped my kindle as it startled me. I understand where he was coming from, I just didn't expect it. It was a good reaction.

...

And what is up with Sarah and Max? I feel like there's some couple chemistry there and that Max needs to wake up to it. Just my two cents.

I know I'm jumping around. I don't write reviews chronologically, just write things down as I think of them. I'm weird, I know.

I will be purchasing the next book to read as soon as I can."

This is quite long & drawn out at times but if you like a girl that has body issues, brought on my her family, & an H who loves her curves, then you'll enjoy this.
Cash & Abby meet gaming but not yet in real life. Through her friends the couple find a way to the other in his family owned hotel.
A lot family issues are at play here with this couple. I found Sally, Cashs sister, annoying. A bit overdone at times. Abby's parent were horrible & more will come out later but I wasn't happy how that was dealt with. The truth came out but it seemed secondary in this. Like I'll add this in for effect.
It was just too much at times with all the inner dialogues, some unnecessary to me & others a bit repetitious & childish.
Maybe a bit of an edit here & there would help condense this.

Can love win when the odds are stacked against a hot guy and a beautiful insecure woman

Absolutely loved Abby and Cash's story. I have heard of love at first sight, but they fell in love blindly without even knowing what each other looked liked. Spent a year in a half gaming, e mailing, texting and then chatting on the phone. Sounds crazy but it seemed like when they did they finely exchange pictures and then see each other in person their love and connection was even deeper. They had so many obstacles to over come to make the relationship work to be able to be together forever. Sadly in relationships love is not always enough to over come so many obstacles and make it work. I highly recommend reading to see if Cash and Abby get their happy ever after.....also worth the very very very hot sex threw out the book.

Very good book about fighting demons and taking a chance on love.
Cash and Abby are no strangers to heart ache. They both no what it's like to deal with loss. But now they have to decide to take their virtual relationship to take it to the next level and meet in person. With the help of their friends they do end up meeting in person but will they be able to put their insecurities to the side and focus on each other?
This was a good story but there were some parts that drove me a little insane (the constant back and forth in Abby's head, the way she pushed Cash, etc) but with that all being said I will definitely be reading the rest of the series!

This story hit home is several ways with what Abby went through growing up and all of her esteem issues. She takes to online gaming and hits it off with Cash, also turned to online gaming after the loss of his parents and fell down a bottle of liquor.
Cash and Abby find solace within the gaming world and also with each other.
The moral of the story is one to live by, I enjoyed the actual storyline and loved the banter between all of the secondary characters.

The story within itself was a good story, I gave this book a 3.5 stars due to the editing.

Abby has a self-esteem problem. Possibly because her parents, especially her father, called her names her entire life. That kind of abuse makes it hard to believe that someone could love you for who you are. Her other siblings were not abused, only Abby. Now even though she has her brother and friend, she finds love thru gaming. With Cash, she can just be herself. When they finally meet, it's an uphill battle to get through her inner demons to see what he sees. Triggers for some.

Abby comes from an abusive family and has always had problems with her self worth. She loved gaming and had met Cash through it. Cash loved BBW. He had always thought he would never commit to any woman. But since Abby and him had started texting and now talking he wanted to meet her because he was falling for her. But Cash would have to to fight the demons from her past before they could get their future. Great story

Amazing read

Love this book. Love Abby and Cash’s romance story. Cash and Abby met through an online gaming system. Overtime, they end up growing very close together. Cash and Abby don’t live in the same state but through texting and calling they develop a very close relationship. Abby is a teacher and she and her best friend decide on a Christmas vacation. What Abby doesn’t know is that her friends are going to surprise her by going to the hotel Cash owns. When Cash and Abby meet in person, it was like love at first sight. Abby and Cash become inseparable during Abby’s vacation. Throughout this book, readers can tell that Abby’s view of herself is low but with the help of her friends she feels beautiful. Love how Cash and Abby end up together. Worth the read

*I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book*

This book is about Abby who suffered abuse at the hands of her father. She meets and falls in love with a wonderful man but doesn't know how to move forward. I love the real-life issues in this book. These are abuse, trust issues and self-loathing due to years of abuse. There were some minor grammar issues that detracted from the story slightly. I would definitely recommend this book to romance lovers.

Wow!, The heroine, Abby, was the most immature, and annoying character I've ever read about. I was done with the book around 30% but, kept thinking it has to get better it was rated so highly. Never got better, if possible it got worse and piised at myself for continuing to torture myself.

I did finish reading this book because once I start reading a book I always finish it. My fault, I know.

Pity, I liked the secondary characters, but will not continue to read this series. I'm out.

Enjoyed this book!

This was a fun story to read and I enjoyed the unique storyline. I loved Cash and Abby together! Abby could drive me nuts and be childish at times but I still liked her. it was definitely a rollercoaster ride of emtions. The only thing that really took away from the story was some of the editing, there were quite a few spelling errors and sentences I would have to re-read to figure out what she was supposed to be saying. Overall an enjoyable and fun read.

This book gave me all the the feels. I laughed, I got angry and I cried (a lot). Abby had a lot of self esteem issues which I can totally understand with what she went through. I am glad she had the support system of her family and friends. I just wish Cade’s sister would of been more supportive at the beginning. I could not put this book down. On to #2.

Abby and Cash's book was a good interesting read and I will admit this is the first time I have read a story where the characters had met through World of Warcraft. This was a good book and there was plenty of heat but I have to admit there were times I wanted to shake Abby she was very childish a times, overall I did like the book
