Their relationship didn’t get off to the best of starts … but who can tell what the future will bring? As a longstanding fan of bestselling author Jivan Childering, aspiring young novelist Jessica Lord is dismayed on encountering the man himself to find him aloof, arrogant and stand-offish. But, some months later, many thousands of miles away in Western Australia, Jessica’s path is destined to cross with Jivan’s once more – and she begins to see a different side to this talented yet reserved and private man. For his part, Jivan finds himself increasingly drawn to the unpretentious Jessica, and impressed by her single-minded determination to follow her dreams of becoming a successful writer. But following a bitter divorce, Jivan has vowed never to get romantically involved with a woman again. Can Jessica break down his emotional barriers? What’s more, Jivan’s vengeful ex-wife is determined to stop him embarking on a new relationship – and is prepared to go to any lengths to achieve her aim.

This is the first Anna Jacobs book I've read in a little while and I remembered just how much I love them.
Jessica meets one of her favourite authors at an award event where he presents her with the top prize. He appears quite standoffish with the contestants but she notices that he is much warmer with his agent.

When their paths cross they get to know each other better and it's really interesting to see their relationship develop.

This book has everything- romance, office politics, relationships and friendships and drama. I couldn't wait to read on. A real page turner.

With many thanks to the publisher, Anna Jacobs and Net Galley for the chance to read this one in exchange for an honest review.

Jessica had just been placed as a finalist in a large contest for people struggling to become published authors. She was one of the final three. She had a favorite author, Jivan, and had argued with him once while being picked to ask him a question about his latest novel. Now he was the presenter at the presentation of the finalists.
This story had a little bit of everything: action, harassment almost to the point of murder, unadmitted love, danger, a brute for hire, and so on. The characters were great as was the plot and overall story. I read most of the story at one setting. I fell asleep or would have finished it all in one sitting. I highly recommend.
**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review

This is a thin book but is a great story. Great to read where part of the story is based in Perth.

This is such a lovely story and a very easy read. The characters you grow into the story with them. You simply live with the characters of Jessica Lord and Jivan Childering the story covers them from meeting in the UK and when they meet again in Australia. I could not get enough of this story which is a recommended five star read yet again from Anna Jacobs.

Tomorrow’s Path by Anna Jacobs

Gorgeously interesting, Tomorrow's Path by Anna Jacobs is a modern read that starts out more of a romance than the author is known for. Interesting also because the protagonist is a writer. The story line captures a very believable conflict finding a balance, the need to be out and about to promote books while longing for solitude to write. Mesh this problem with a newly found desire to share space with someone from whom emotional comfort can be derived and you’re ready to be pulled into Anna Jacob’s story.

Just when the reader is settled with a plot of romantic conflicts the author injects intrigue and off we go on a rather wonderfully tame thriller of a mystery.

Tomorrow’s Path by Anna Jacobs is almost three plots wound in one; rather grand and quite thought provoking. Well worth five stars and re-reading at regular intervals.

Anna I love your stories. What an imagination you have. Loved the characters the drama the love story. A real virtual page turner. Jivan and Jessica has a nice ring to their names together and so happy they found true love. Money can truly be the root if all evil. Can't wait to read your next one

A gripping and unusual novel from this much loved writer .
Jessica Lord is a huge fan of best selling author Jivan Childering . She is dismayed to find him arrogant and overbearing at their first encounter . Fate intervenes and they meet again , not in England this time but Australia where they have both independently moved . Jivan is attracted to Jessica. She is so unlike his ex wife who is hellbent on destroying his life .

Another great read
This one was not set in the war like Anna’s saga mostly are but still grabs your attention from page to page
It’s a story of a famous writer called Jivan and he his always seen as not a nice person but Jessica who as always wanted to write meets him and falls in love after seeing a side he usually hides away but things turn dangerous for him and her from his ex wife.
definitely worth reading

Same old; same old.

Unfortunately Anna’s books are all the same. Different names but same story. Boy meets girl - they often fall in love and marry within a week or two - someone nasty is out to get one, or both, of them. Nasty person catches up with up them, big, usually unbelievable, show down. Nasty person gets their comeuppance or dies, boy and girl live happily ever after.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 - 20 May 2021

A good friends-to-lovers novel. Includes the issue of stalking from the perspective of the victim as well as how quickly stalking can escalate, which was interesting. Also enjoyed that the two main characters were novelists, and providing a perspective of what life is like for a writer.

Would definitely recommend if this appeals to you and if you are looking for ab easy and interesting read.

I read and double read all books by Anna Jacobs. This one I really enjoyed until the final part, it seemed too extreme. I still really enjoyed the story and could not put the book down but I just needed a different ending.

Jivan is an author, a well known author. Jessica is perhaps one of his biggest fans. Jessica is an aspiring author. Jivan is divorced but his ex wife goes to extremes to find him and is convinced they will get back together.

This was a simple, lightweight romance read. words like gentle and mild come to mind. It was a short book that spent a long time winding up to the two main characters becoming involved, and then sort of rushed through their involvement, into an action/ suspense section that felt almost out of place with the book, but that was also quickly resolved for the HEA. There was definitely something odd about the narrative pacing, how you'd be very in the moment, with dialogue, at one moment, and then rushing ahead, being told, not shown, days, months, even years. It was almost disorienting, like a strange literary amusement ride.
Despite the complaints, though, the book was pleasant and mostly harmless. Jivan let his issues make him kind of a jerk sometimes, but he and Jessica seemed well suited to each other. And while the need to have a romantic lead who is rolling in money certainly gets old after awhile, it WAS lovely to have two main characters who loved books and writing and reading and peace and quiet. Perhaps that was what helped me ignore the other weaker qualities of the book--that it was such a pleasure to read about people more like me. Less TV and parties. More reading and writing and enjoying nature.
If you need a very fast and easy read that doesn't demand much of you, and is sort of relaxing, this might be for you too. Especially if you would also enjoy the chance to walk in the shoes of character who are authors.
