They had been neighbors since they were kids and she had a crush on him back in the day, but he dated everyone but her. She wasn't pining for him though, and she wasn't a virgin. It's pretty insta-love, and I wish it had been a bit longer. but overall I enjoyed it.
Odio leer de fantasia la verdad jamas imagine que eran osos reales tipo crepusculo jajajja no se no me gusta la ficcion, pero bueno fue un buen trama nada fuera de lo normal X espero leer el de los otros dos hermanos
In this first book of the series we meet the Doucet brothers Cyrus, Chase and Cole and learn a little bit about Cyrus and his family's shinanigans when they were young. Now they are all grown up and run a very well known lucrative Security business.
Claire Erickson has had a crush on her next door neighbor since they moved in when she was 5 years old, now all grown up she has not lost her crush, but she knows better, or does she?
Cyrus Doucet one of the Black Bear Outlaws has always been in love with Claire, but he always kept clear of her because of his past. But now that he fears she may mate another bear, his instincts kick in and he cant help but try to woo her by any means at his disposal.
This looks to be a very fun and entertaining series.
Fated mates is the only explanation here. Why does Claire go goo goo for Eric Clapton and chocolate malts? Why is Cyrus so interested in strait laced Claire?
The chemistry is okay, the sex is hot, and the danger is real, but short-lived. It wss a perfectly adequate story, but I was disappointed that Claire's objection was never addressed.
Claire Erickson is a bear shifting wedding planner. She fell in love at age 5, when Cyrus Doucet and his family moved in next door. He never gave her the time of day. She started dating bad boy Vince Crane. During her senior year of high school she had to go before the council of bear elders and tell them all she knew about the Crane brothers drug dealing. Vince and his brother were sent up north to work the logging camp to work off their debt to the clan. Vince shows up at her door while she was waiting for wedding clients. He tells her they are going to be mated by order of the council and she said there was no way in hell, when Cyrus suddenly comes in the back door and tells Vince they have been together for 6 months. Claire is in shock, but agrees to pretend Cyrus is her boyfriend and they plan a public date so the council can see they are together. During the date Cyrus set up, Claire was hit with mating fever. They rushed home and she did the one thing she said she would never do, get with another bad boy. They had mated multiple times during the night and breakfast. Cyrus had to rush off to a security break at Miranda's house, and Claire was going to the printer to find out about the proper invitations for Miranda's wedding. Vince grabs Claire and kidnaps her, injecting her with some potion that is supposed to remove the mating bond between her and Cyrus. Claire wakes up in a cage in a basement, with an ungodly headache. Vince says her mating heat will go away and then he will mate with her and make her his wife. Will the potion break the bond? will Claire be forced to mate with Vince, or will Cyrus be able to rescue her in time?
"Cyrus" by Kenzie Cox is a nice little novella and took me around 30 minutes from start to finish. Cyrus and Kenzie have been neighbours since childhood. They more than like each other but nothing more seems possible between them - until the Bear Shifter Council try to force her into marriage with Vince Crane, a nasty piece of goods who, back in the day, nearly had Kenzie outlawed. Cyrus takes matters into his own hands and, in the blink of an eye, they are on a fake date which morphs into passionate sex, etc. It's all very rushed but nicely done - it would have been better at twice the number of pages. 3 Stars.
I have been provided with a review copy of Cyrus from the author for an impartial review. This is the first book in the Black Bear Outlaws series and this was just a great way to start off a new series. I loved being transported into this new world with it’s new characters. It was just so easy to get lost in this story and I was just so disappointed to turn the last page. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
It's mating season and the elders are on a role. When Cyrus comes to the aid of his next door neighbor, the clock starts ticking. Claire has loved Cyrus since she was 5 and when her ex kidnaps her, she discovers she never stopped. This is a really quick read with enough twists and turns to keep you interested
She was 5 when she had a crush on him when he moved in next door, 7 years old. Now they are still living next to each other and there is an evil ex trying to get her back. But Cyres steps up pretending to be her boyfriend. Now they have to pretend to be a couple, but is it really pretending? And the evil ex still doesn't give up either.
Great story with action in and outside the bedroom
Claire is thrown into a fake relationship with a man she has been crushing on since high school. Claire’s ex, Vince, has been tasked by the elders to pick a mate and they feel Claire would be the best possibility. Only Claire wants no part of the idea. It doesn’t take Claire very long to change her mind! Things take a turn when her ex makes a desperate play. Action packed ending!
What a wonderful romance! It has just the right amount of excitement as well. Things can become sticky when ex's come back into the picture and won't take no for an answer. Can Cyrus and Claire make things work or will they go their separate ways?
I've loved Deanna Chase's Jade Calhoun and others so reading this seemed right up my alley and it was. She has a knack for writing strong women with a wicked sense of humor and this book falls right in line with that
This series is short reads.(75 pages) I have read this authors witch series so thought I would read her shifter series. Being it's a short read it doesn't drag out it gets to the point fast with some action and detective work with love also. Case is next
What a great start to the new series. I absolutely loved this terrific paranormal romance with thriller overtones and a HEA.
I love Kenzie Cox's books and 'Cyrus', the first in her new Black Bear Outlaws series is a terrific opener. Well written in the first person with the POV alternating between the heroine and the hero, this book is full of great characters, plot twists and turns, a red herring or two, lots of funny bits and a fair helping of steam to go with the happily ever after. 'Cyrus' is also part of the multi-author Mating Fever Collection of stand alone paranormal romances. I really couldn't put it down, devoured it in one sitting and absolutely loved it.
Bear shifter Cyrus Doucet had something of a wayward youth, but now, together with his brothers Chase and Cole, he runs a private security business. He's lived next door to Claire Erickson since his family moved to Basin Bayou and she's been the love of his life since he was seven years old. Over the years, he's dated pretty much everyone but her, and she made it pretty clear he wasn't her type, but he's watched and waited, hoping for a chance to finally go out with the woman he knows is his true mate, his one. Then, all of a sudden, an unwelcome face from the past provides an opportunity he really isn't going to pass up...
Wedding planner Claire Erickson's got an appointment with a groom shortly, strange the bride isn't coming to the meeting as well, but sometimes it happens. She needs to get ready, but it's hard dragging her attention away from the half naked hunk mowing the lawn next door, and she's having such a nice time drooling over the man of her dreams, even if he did break her five year-old heart and she keeps telling herself he's not her type, if only the body would actually listen. Still, she's having a nice day, right up to the point when she opens the door to her soon-to-be client and comes face to face with the drug dealing ex-boyfriend she hasn't seen since she testified about him to the pack Elders six years ago. Vince Crane isn't someone she ever wanted to see again, and even worse, the Elders seem to think the wedding with Vince as the groom should also include her....as the bride. Thank heavens Cyrus was paying attention and came to her rescue just in time, but now she has a whole new problem to deal with...
I really don't want to give any spoilers but this is a fantastic start to the new series. It has some really great characters including Cyrus, Claire, Chase, Cole and Katrina, as well as some truly stupid ones, mostly in the form of the ex and the stone-age mentality pack elders, as well as a great plot with unexpected twists and turns. It has humour, a little action, steamy bits and the happily ever after we all expect for Cyrus and Claire. I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review and I absolutely loved this wonderful stand alone paranormal romance with thriller overtones. Well worth 5 stars and I can't wait for the next one in what promises to be another terrific series.
Cyrus and Claire have been neighbors since she was five and he was seven. Claire's ex-boyfriend has spent the last six years in shifter prison and returned to make her mate him as part of his rehab and she refused. Things became complicated as a result. Cyrus came to her rescue and you'll need to read this book to find out what happens. Enjoy!
