She’s a stripper. He’s a preacher. Her name is Faith and he’s been faithless since the day she went away.
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t know it’d end like this. From the beginning, it could only go one way, and straight to hell it did. My past reads like a film stuck on repeat; fall in in love, get heart broke, and then run. Just fucking run.
And run I did. Straight back to that place I swore I’d never return. Straight back to that place where my broken heart lies buried deep within one man's chest.
Noah Parker was my first love. He was my only love. The only boy that could ever make me feel alive. The only boy who ever truly broke my heart. The only boy who could possibly save me from myself.
But Noah isn’t a boy anymore…
Faithless is a standalone romance and is intended for mature readers only.
I grew up on a farm in Ohio, but that's not very interesting, is it? When I'm not writing you can find me doing one of two things; getting lost on highways or getting lost in the lives of fictional characters. If my heart had two feet, one foot would be in romance and the other solidly in geekdom. I hope you'll all follow me on my journey through this carnival they call life.I promise there will be a happy ending.

“Why won’t you tell me where Luke is?”
This wasn’t a bad story, but it wasn’t quite what I was expecting either.
I didn’t really like the characters in this, they all seemed broken and it made them really difficult to relate to. I think if we’d known more about where they were coming from earlier on it might have helped, but I just couldn’t connect with them as it was.
Maybe I was wrong for thinking that this was a contemporary romance, because there was a heck of a lot of other stuff going on in here, and it didn’t really interest me. We got the story hoping back and forth between the present and the past, and I just wanted an answer as to what was going on, and we didn’t really get that. The romance was also in the form of a bit of a messed up love triangle, and I think I’d have appreciated that more if the story had been about the romance, and not about all the other stuff that had happened to the characters.
The ending to this was a bit weird, and I wasn’t expecting the semi-paranormal moment we got towards the end.
This wasn't what I was expecting. There was a lot of pain and hurt in this story. But even though it was depressing and dark, it was beautiful.
The story goes back and forth between the past and present. Faith and Noah were adopted by a loving family, but on one tragic night, everything changed. Everything was ripped away, and the chain of events led to destruction.
Faithless isn't just about a preacher and a stripper. It's more about being broken and finding a way to heal. Usually I tend to lean to more fluffy romance stories, but I'm so glad that I got to read this. Thanks KB Nelson.
The book is confusing as hell because it bounces between present day and the past while mixing in Luke, Noah and Faith. Mostly told from Faith's POV, there's a lot of messed up vibes going around. I mean, she has sex with a "Man of God" and said "Man of God" is revenge seeking so it is just a mess. Luke gets mixed in and further complicates the reader's understanding of the story, as well. There's mystical elements to the story which would normally interest me but I think I was so focused on how messed up everything was that I just took it in stride.
There's a faithless, jaded and hollow woman who ran away from home to lead to the spiral of the two men she cared about. Faith's name is a complete joke when you compare it to her nature. She's a runner, always running away, and she has zero faith in anything. She ran back to Noah but was't just back in the town for him. Her and Noah are both messed up creatures yet Noah thinks he needs to save her.
Noah looks like he has it all together but is actually carrying all the weight of sins and revenge inside of him. He's dark, angry, twisted and just a little bit worth saving. The man Faith use to know is hidden somewhere inside of him, buried deep due to the last five years of life. He is interesting yet terrifying, honestly.
Faithless is much, much more than the blurb suggests, the characters are incredibly broken, there's some twists that will shock you, and there's a third character that really should be considered a major character and not secondary. There's also a lot of religious talk, some paranormal, and of course, forbidden romance. While I enjoyed the story, some of the turns took it a bit too far for me to stay completely invested in the story of Faith and her return home.
Told from alternating POV's, but mostly Faith's, we jump into the present time as Faith returns home after leaving a bad situation. However, home is much different than what she remembers and everything she expected to return to is different. As she tries to deal with the changes, her ever present feelings for Noah, and helping him face his demons she looks back on the past ten years of her life, from the moment she met Noah, Luke, and their relationship until the day she ran away. I loved the idea of forbidden romance between a stripper and a preacher, however this was much more than romance. I came out of it thinking quite a lot about good versus evil and acceptance. Some of the scenes completely messed with my head, because I didn't expect evil to play such a huge part in this book. On top of that, the romance that is there is very taboo, it's enough to be uncomfortable, but didn't take away from the book for me in the end. The characters are untrustworthy, but I found myself really feeling for Faith and her life's general lack of direction.
I think Faithless is the kind of book you have to read to be able to judge, it's different than I expected it to be, but enjoyable still.
So when I clicked 'Request' on this book, it was with the understanding that things in the book had changed, that the author had made changes to the story to make it better, to rework it and if you, like me, are scratching your head wondering if you're suffering from deja vu, you're not. Yes, I had read this book before, but that was when it was released as a serial rather than an entire book. Unfortunately for the author, my opinions are unchanged. Even sitting down and rereading the story in it's entirety from beginning to end, I can safely say that I was still sitting there scratching my head afterwards wondering what the hell had just happened. There was no changes to the story that made it more sane, more readable, more...anything, so it still jumps all over the place leaving you with whiplash. I still don't understand the chemistry or real relationship between the characters, let alone see any growth with them. The writing style hasn't changed and still didn't click with me and overall, I found the whole thing is just scream-out-loud-into-the-great-abyss messy. I can safely say that I didn't enjoy this book. I didn't enjoy it when it was a serial, I didn't enjoy it as an entire book, I just plain didn't enjoy it. I'm sorry to the author and thank her for allowing me to request and read it, but as a reviewer, I believe that I have a duty and obligation to allow my followers to know what I think and let them make up their own minds. So my fellow book nerds, be free and make up your own mind on this one.
I don't know what it is about this authors writing style but I tend to feel all the emotions of the story that much deeper. The loneliness, the guilt, the grief, the regret, K.B. Nelson writes emotions so potent that when you put the book down to continue on with your everyday life you're left with this pit in your stomach and an ache in your chest, the feelings this story evoked in me haunted me even when I wasn't reading it. This book is beautifully written, so charismatic, K.B. Nelson is almost poetic in his story telling and his books always leave me with that sense that I'm going to remember these characters stories for a long while. This book only loses a star due to my personal preference in the kind of books I prefer to read, I do generally prefer more romance in my books, and although this is a love story, it's more of a personal tale of healing for the main character who had lost her way in the world. However this book is so intelligently written and beautifully lyrical at times that whether or not it would be my usual preference I just could not put it down and in fact, devoured it in a few hours. I'm now left feeling slightly heart sore after what I went through with these characters but thankful that I got to witness their story. So if you're looking for a book that will grab you and pull on your heart strings then you should definitely give this book a go!
This was not the story I expected from the synopsis. Reading other reviews I see this book was originally released as a Trilogy but it appears nothing has been changed since it was originally published.
I found Faith and Noah unlikeable characters. Also, Faith is not just a stripper she's more or less a Prostitute. When she reconnected with Noah, the apparent love of her life, I felt no chemistry between them and no emotion. Noah doesn't appear hurt by anything he learns about Faith's past. There is a lack of dialogue. It's a very depressing read.
We then learn about Luke, their 'brother' but then learn the trio had a menage relationship which was confusing as although Faith likes to tell the reader it's Noah she loved it came across to me like it was Luke she was closer and more connected to.
This was a far fetched story that had a plot that went from bad to worse and bordered on ridiculous. At one point I thought the story wasn't going to have a happy ending which normally would piss me off but in this case with such unlikeable characters I couldn't have cared less. There is an alternative ending but quite honestly these characters deserved neither ending.
This is an honest review thanks to NetGalley. I wasn't expecting what I got from this book, I wanted to like it and I did for the first couple chapters but it went down hill from there. I just didn't connect to the book itself and felt no connection to the characters either. When I don't connect to characters I can't like the book, for some people this might be a great read but it didn't have enough substance for my tastes.
**I received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions are my own and not influenced by my source.**
I was drawn to this book because of the forbidden love aspect: Preacher and a Stripper in love? Colour me intrigued. I also really loved Nelson's bold approach to her characters' stories when I read Bad Reputation last year and so I was excited to give this one a chance.
This book wasn't really what I was expecting but that is ok! I didn't really know that it would be more of a suspense novel so that threw me for a while; though I think it was one of my favourite aspects of the story. The suspense and mystery made it more exciting than your everyday second chance contemporary romance. But, at the same time, I was kinda expecting a more romantic plot than we got so it caused me to rate it slightly lower.
Faith and Noah's story has so many twists and turns that make it so heartbreaking. I really felt for these characters because they got a crappy hand in life. It's a tad unrealistic as it leans more towards the soap opera side of dramatic but it gives this story a unique flare.
I think this story will appeal to people who want a story that is so different from the other second chance romances out there. It's more of a suspense novel that has events that occur because these two people reunite; rather than a second chance romance with a minor suspense plot. (I hope that makes sense). And if you can't stomach darker stories or non-traditional relationships, then you should probably avoid this one.
No. No me gusta.
= DNF.
Sorry. :(

I really enjoyed Faithless up until things took a ridiculous turn with Paul and Ben towards the end. Besides that, I was hooked on Faith’s and Noah’s story. Knowing that Noah is a preacher that doesn't follow the rules is exciting...well for me anyways! ;)
Faith and Noah met through the foster system and have been extremely close as they grew older. It isn't until they're both settled into the Eastwood's home that they finally feel like they've found their 'home'. The Eastwood's only son, Luke becomes their friend and the three of them have an unbreakable bond. I loved how the author gave us their past, making us feel like we can befriend all three of them and yet feel so torn and heartbroken for them and their struggles. And man, does the author know how to write up a ménage scene. Phew, I knew the three of them were close but knowing they were that close was unexpected in a very clever way.
I just loved this story up until the ending where things take an unrealistic turn. I would have rated this a 4 but it started going downhill from there and it didn't pick back up. But some people like the dramatic endings so if you're one of them, pick this up!

The story of Noah and Faith was one that will definitely stay with me for some time. Noah and Faith truly had a 'one-of-a-kind' love that was at times very emotional, heartbreaking and insanely intense. Faithless will touch your heart, test your boundaries and most of all give you a reading experience like no other.
K.B. Nelson really takes the reader on a sexy, emotional journey that also is full of thrilling twists and turns that you will never see coming. Nelson knows how to bring the reader into the story with a gripping plot and characters that not only have depth, but are sexy as hell!
This novel is definitely one that you will need to check out, if for nothing else, to see the talent that the author has - because let me tell you, this author is not afraid to break the rules. At all.
I received this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
The blurb of this book sounded like it was going to be really promising. Then I got to about the half way mark and it all fell apart. I felt like we only got a glimpse into Faith and Noah's lives. I wished there had been a lot more backstory to flesh everyone out. That would have made this short novel a lot more enjoyable.
We are introduced to Faith a stripper who is always running from her tragic past. Currently living in Florida she decides to move back home to Ohio. We get an immediate flashback of Faith going to live at a new foster home. She's not thrilled as she's been bounced from home to home. She eventually finds solace and peace at her new home on the farm and falls in love with it. I know the foster system, my mom was a foster parent. Why after living on the farm for so many years didn't the family adopt them? Makes no sense.
We learn that a horrible car crash has taken her parents from her, leaving her broken and unable to fully heal and recover from the ordeal.
At the 20% mark we are then introduced to Noah who became a priest because he never wanted anyone to feel pain again. He wants to be there and help others. That's more of a reason to be a priest from in Priest by Sierra Simone. Which was a good idea in theory but we get nothing about his priest life which was sad. I was expecting it there to be a service or something at least to show how he had helped his congregation.
Faith wants to avoid running into her old love Noah, so she goes to the last place he should have been, a bar. But lo and hold there he is drinking, which threw Faith off. From what I remember Noah leaves the bar allowing Faith to go to a hotel with some random stranger so they can shag, which makes Faith feel better because she feels nothing.
Faith is able to get her old job back as a stripper, Noah somehow is there again and gets really upset, barging into Faiths dressing room and tries to tell her to leave, that she shouldn't be doing this. There's a really heated moment where it's clear they want to jump each other but because Faith mentions he's a priest and shouldn't do that he doesn't until he does. But he doesn't try to use god and faith as an excuse to remain celibate. I'm wondering what his faith is, Catholic, Baptist, Protestant? Is having sex not a very important part of it?
I liked that Faith wasn't portrayed as some virgin who couldn't fend for herself. She was a battle worn woman, who could take care of herself, and definitely NOT a virgin. She used sex and being a stripper to make herself numb to the pain she had been feeling since her parents were killed.
We find out that Faith went back home to see her foster brother Luke. Something crazy happened to him too, which affected both Noah and Faith immensely, shattering both of their hearts even more.
Up until the 60% mark I enjoyed the sudden changes from past to present. It made meant me to keep reading. There were so many things I wanted to know. Then I was no longer a fan of the sudden time jumps, and was having a hard time keeping track of them all. There were too many crammed into the rest of the book and they ended on such cliff hangers.
There are some sex scenes, nothing incredibly hot, but not bad either. We get a better look into Faith's time in Florida, how she met a man named Paul and lived with him for two years. Paul was married, but that didn't stop either of them from being together, or from Paul basically buying her an apartment so he could have her whenever he wanted.
There is an odd twisted sub plot involving Luke, Noah and someone Luke was involved with that seemed over the top. I initially liked and understood what when on with this guy, Noah wanted revenge for something he had done to Luke. But when he showed up later on in the story actin super crazy it was a bit much. I felt like there was no need for it.
From about the 75% to 80% of the novel was when things started getting ridiculous and I don't understand why the author wen this route, especially since the whole book had a more New Adult feel and we suddenly get this thriller/suspense/action sequence which was hard to follow.
I liked Noah and Faith as a couple and the dynamic they had with Luke. I could tell they really cared for each other. Again I wished they had gone into more depth about their relationship. But for what is there the author did convince me that the three were in love with each other.
Wish the characters had been more fleshed out. They were ok for a quick read, but there was so much that I felt was lacking between the characters. Especially a more in depth look at both Noah and Faith's time in the system, before they came to live with Luke's family. I wish more had been written about their relationship together.
I like the alternate ending a lot better!!! It makes much more sense this way and is very enjoyable! The way it was just so haphazardly and oddly placed into the novel we now have just doesn't have the same feel as the alternate ending did. This one made me smile and feel something. Wish this one had been left in.
Over all an alright novel, I was a bit underwhelmed by it especially since the blurb sounded so good. If it had been longer and gone into more detail about the characters I could have enjoyed it more.
This novel was nothing like I expected it to be. When I first read the words stripper and preacher, I was like hells yaaass!! But it’s really not that type of book. There is so much feeling between the characters that it almost hurt to read at some points. The overall tone of the story was really somber and sad. Faith learned early in life that the world is a pretty unpleasant place but as luck would have it, she was able to land the best foster parents in the world, during her teenage years, but good things can never last. When the world came crumbling down she stayed, but after a while it became too much and she ran away. Now back, years later she’s in for another devastating blow but can her childhood love, Noah, help her through this crushing news? Or will they both run away and never look back? Noah was always faithless until he met Faith. Faith restored so much light and hope in his life that he forever knew that she was the one for him. Until the day his world crashed down around him. Unable to cope with the memories, Noah left and was able to find God. But all the while he was finding himself his love ones were in a downward spiral and by the time he came back there was nothing he could do for them. Years later, Noah is a different man, a hardened man who is out for revenge. Can Faith restore his humanity before it’s too late? Or will Noah’s revenge make him into a shadow of the man he was once before? This story was told in first person point of view of Faith as well as past and present point of view. It was a little jarring to go from the present story line to the past story line in every other chapter but it did give a glimpse into the background story of the main characters. Ultimately, this novel was unexpected but beautifully written. The tragic parts really hit you in the gut and the peaceful parts make you feel like you are finally out of gloomy depths of heartbreak. All in all, if you are in the mood for a novel that pulls on your heart strings and makes you beg for the characters second chance then come check out why Faith is Faithless!
** ARC PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR FOR AN HONEST REVIEW **
Faithless is a dark love story. It will mess with your mind and leave you reeling. A roller coaster of emotional pains and full of suspense, you will be at the edge of your seat with every turn of the page. Every character fights with their own demons and all running away from having to deal with the life that pushed them to their breaking point.
A love triangle between broken souls.
Faith grew up in foster home after foster home, never really having stability or a place to call home. Her only true friend was Noah Parker but he also was the one that broke her heart and ultimately one of the reasons she left everything behind. 4 yrs and shes back home trying to start a new life.
Noah Parker loved Faith since they were kids and has always imagined her in his life, but sometimes life has a different path for us all. He lost everyone he's loved and now he has lost even more .... his Faith and his soul. Noah believes he can't be brought back and that he has been broken beyond repair. When the love of his life comes back into town, he might just break every rule and risk what little he has left.
Luke had the perfect life. Loving parents and two new step siblings. The three of them were inseparable but in a blink of an eye he lost everything even both his soul mates. Now he is lost and lonely.
After an accident life changes for all three of them. Their once inseparable bond is broken and when faith disappeared for 4 yrs everything is gone. The once soul mates find themselves lost and full of pain and regrets. They all have secrets and they all have to deal with the consequences of their choices. Can they find what they lost and learn to live again ?
This book was dark and pushed some boundaries for me. The drama and pain between the characters was truly scary. It has action and revenge keeping you on edge trying to find what happens next.
“Faithless” was brilliantly written and thought out. There was a constant battle with all the characters but especially with Faith, the main female character. She had the hardest time balancing what she considered her fate and what she wanted to be. You were able to feel that struggle. In fact, you were able to feel all the emotions within the book. It was very moving and inspiring the way things played out. Love was very evident in this book. Luke, the main male lead, was really hard to figure out in the beginning but as the story played out his character became clear. The story toggled back and forth from Present to Past. And once the past was explained the present made sense. I like books written like that. Especially when you can read just the present or just the past and it still makes sense anyway. That process kept my mind in constant motion, which sucked me further into the book. You wanted to know what was going to happen next, like reading a mystery novel. There was quite a bit of violence that I wasn’t expecting but nevertheless, it worked well with the story. I didn’t mind the violence. It was a bit graphic but not so graphic that you had to skip those sections. The intimate scenes had just the right amount of detail. I was entranced and caught up in the scenes. It felt like you were Faith and it was happening to you instead. There ended up being a dynamic between the two main characters and a special third one. For me I kind of thought there was something but not what I was actually thinking it was. It was definitely welcomed in my opinion. It worked very well with the story line. In fact, there were quite a bit of surprises throughout the book. It was very intriguing how things were going to go from surprise to surprise. There was a ton of emotional value in this book. Lots of inspiration as well. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I can’t wait to read another book by this author.
Having read Carnival, I'll be honest and say I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm glad now that I went into it with my eyes open! This book is leaps and bounds ahead of Carnival. Seriously.
Faithless is so much more than a story about a stripper and a preacher. It's a story about family. It's a story about loss. It's a story about broken hearts. It's a story about second chances. Love. Redemption. Success. Failure.
Faithless makes you question how far you'd go for someone you love.
Meet Noah and Faith. 2 halves of a broken whole. When their family shatters around them, Faith does the only thing she can - she runs until she can't run anymore. 5 years after her life went down the drain, Faith returns home in search of her foster brother Luke. When she runs into Noah, the love of her youth who became a preacher, her carefully constructed world unravels.
Look for a wonderful cameo by 2 faces you may recognize from K.B.'s debut novel, Carnival.
What an explosive ending! Not where I was expecting it to go at all. K.B. Nelson stays true to the story and characters even if it's not quite the HEA readers have grown to expect.
Faith's true dark side comes out to play and it's a delightful trip.
This book wasn't what I was expecting; but it was just okay.
Faith is a stripper who grew up in the foster care system before finally being adopted into a loving family. When things got tough she did what she always did - she ran. Five years later she returns home; but five years without contact with the men she loved has left a scar.
Noah found God, becoming a preacher after a tragedy changed his entire world. Noah and Faith grew up in the foster care system together and were the only consistency either of them had.
This is less of a romance book and more of a book about how one single event can change the lives of 3 people so differently. At times the book was confusing; it jumps between past and present often and the past is not always the same time period (5 years ago, 10 years ago, 4 years ago, etc...). It was hard to follow at times because you weren't sure of events that they were referring to. There is a small element of science fiction in this book which I hadn't expected; nothing too big but it's there.
Overall, it was just okay. The characters were strongly developed, but I felt the end lacked closure.

This books is a good read, however, I was expecting more. When I first read the synopsis, I was thinking that I would love it. Forbidden romance with a preacher and a stripper sounds thrilling. What I was reading was not as great as I thought it would be.
The book is also slightly confusing. It jumps around to so many different time frames with the past and the present. I often times forgot what was happening because I was trying to figure out when everything took place in relation to the other events. I hurt for the character of Noah. He has been through so much and carries his pain around with him everyday. The man he used to be is gone and in his place is an empty, broken shell. Faith is a character who you will also feel sorry for. She has been through so many things that a person her age should not have to go through. After being forced into a job she began to feel trapped. It was almost as though her entire world was collapsing around her.
With all of this being said, I did still enjoy the book. It had a gorgeous cover, amazing synopsis and a good premise. If the book was altered slightly in it's order, it would have made for an even better book.
As the cover says, this is not a contemporary or classic Romance story.
I picked up the novel reading the blurb, I knew this wasn't a classic preacher story but I did not expect the paranormal twist ... a little warning would have been nice!
Having that said, all the three lead characters were broken - Faith, Noah and Luke.
I could not understand the relationship dynamic of the three lead characters... It is a story that could make you emotional, and feel for all the characters ... but I felt few things did not add up right...
There were a few unexpected twists and turns and the book brings out how bad decisions can permanently alter one's life course ... also the dark pasts of Noah and Faith can sort of help you understand why they took a few decisions ... even so, this was a hit and miss for me!

I am a fan of the Bad Reputation series. So knowing this was written by KB Nelson I was pretty stoked to read this book because she is an exceptional writer. She knows how to plot twist THE plot twist and knows how to make some extremely complex characters. Therefore with that said this was not let down... The blurb alone had me "hook line and SINKER!" and sure enough it was all the way through. Nothing short of excellent! looking forward to the next!
2.5 stars. I received a copy via NetGalley. This book was not what I had expected. It is not a love story between a stripper and a preacher. It is a story about how an event can turn upside down the life of three people and how, as a consequence, they take different paths in life. The truth is that this book is really confusing. We find out what happened in the past through flashbacks but sometimes, the characters talk about events that we haven't heard about yet so it is easy to get lost. There was a moment where I even liked it because I must admit some chapters are good. But then, again, it gets complicated and confusing. It was very difficult to get myself involved in the story.
Definite dark romance. The book bounces back and forth between the past and now. Faith and Noah both foster kids got taken in with the same family. After knowing each other before. Now they have a brother Luke. When death changes their lives each go through their grief in different ways. Years later Faith returns to town. Still in love with Noah and still loving Luke. Noah has a darkness inside of him tat wasn't there before and as Faith slowly finds out the reason their life changes again. The ending kind of threw me, I really didn't see the book wrapping up that way. It was an intense read.
Loved the concept, the reunion of lost love and the heartbreaking parts of losing their third partner. Really enjoyed the ending even the alternative one. But the for most of it it was present then travels past 5 years then present but again back to 10 years and back to the present, I got confusing through those parts but I figured it out eventually.
~~~~~~~~~ ARC was given for a honest review~~~~~~~~
This book was ok. I was lost for quite a while. The book mixes the past and the present. It took me a while to figure out who was who and how they fit into the story. I needed more of the characters back story. I think with some editing, this story could be very interesting.
