In the start of a sizzling new series, bestselling author Megan Crane takes readers deep into bayou country, where the sultry swamp has nothing on the heat of Louisiana’s fiercest bikers: the Devil’s Keepers.

Merritt Broussard grew up knowing she had two choices if she stayed in Lagrange: run with the outlaws or get left in their dust. So she got the hell out, leaving behind a bad-boy biker and scorching memories of their summer fling. Now Merritt’s back, with trouble on her tail, and the sergeant-at-arms of the Devil’s Keepers is the one person she can still trust. But Greeley isn’t the boy she remembers. He’s harder now, more dangerous—and even more alluring.

Joseph “Greeley” Shaw loves two things: his bike and his club. At eighteen, he escaped a rough life, found the Devil’s Keepers on the wrong side of a bad weekend, and never looked back. Greeley swore to live and die by their code: Devil’s Keepers first, Devil’s Keepers forever. No one comes between him and his brothers—except for the tantalizing woman who touched his soul. Greeley’s the kind of man who honors his commitments . . . and Merritt is one promise he’s determined to keep.

~4.5 MC STARS~
"Baby. Enough. Get on the bike. If we're gonna fight and fuck all night, we might as well do it somewhere without an audience."
description

Devil's Honor is the first book in The Devil's Keepers. With a rowdy bunch of bikers, some small town people with big personalities, and a smart and sassy heroine this second chance romance packs a powerful punch!

description
"Because this is where she's supposed to be, a garrulous voice from deep inside of him growled. Every fucking night."
Merritt Broussard knew one thing growing up. As soon as she could, she wanted to get far away from the swamps of her hometown of Lagrange. Compounding her desires to leave is her father, a loyal doctor to the local MC, who lacks in offering her the kind of comfort every daughter desires. When Merritt shares a summer fling with a local biker Joseph “Greeley” Shaw she questions her goals and desires. When her drive to be something more pushes her away, Greeley makes certain that she understands that if she ever comes back, she will have to answer to him.

description
"She couldn't help herself when it came to Greeley."
After launching a successful career in law in the big city of New York, Merritt finds herself in a dangerous situation. The only thing she knows to do is run. The only logical place fo her to go is her hometown. But even the quiet comfort of the swamps cannot protect her from the fierce affections of her former lover Greeley. Greeley, at first, wants nothing more than to seek revenge on his little lawyer for leaving him all those years ago. However, when the two are back together again the old flame is reignited, and sparks fly once again between the two. Merritt is desperate to keep her troubles hidden and not to fall for Greeley again. But the heart wants what the heart wants. And Greeley and Merritt undoubtedly want each other! Mix in some MC troubles and the danger chasing Merritt and we have one fast paced action packed sexy read!

description
"You're mine."
Told in dual POV, Devil's Honor has a strong cast of characters and smoking hot steam! Although the plot was slightly predictable, I felt the complexity existed in the relationships between the characters. Merritt might seem slightly bothersome to some, and yet, I found her tenacity to be quite appealing. She isn't ashamed to have set high standards for herself. I found the evolution of her character to be unique. Greeley is a strong hero who is adamant about wanting Merritt by his side. The club business exists in the background and yet there is great promise of things to come as the series continues to develop. The flow of the dialogue was paired well with plenty of internal monologues. The brothers are loyal to each other, and I look forward to hearing each one of their stories. One more standout character was Merritt's best friend Lanie. She is quite spunky and I look forward to spending more time in this world!

Overall, Devil's Honor is a must read for MC Romance fans! I am a huge fan of Megan Crane's Edge Series so it's no surprise that I would enjoy her MC Series as well! I look forward to more MC goodness to come from Ms. Crane and the Devil's Keepers!

3.5 stars. Merritt goes back into her old town after some trouble but she's walking right into the territory of her old flame Greeley. His welcome was part scary and messed up, part sexy and definitely threw sparks. I liked Greeley's persistence and even though he was clearly angry at Mer, he definitely cared about her. Mer had some tough breaks in her life and she took the long route to get there but after what she experienced she needed the comfort and strength that Greeley brought to her. They were sexy together. The plot was good. It hinted at a possible bigger premise that I would be interested in finding more about. The characters are flawed and better for it. Enjoyable read. Safety: h has big time ex drama. There is abuse and attempted rape. If gas lighting is a trigger, this is definitely present here.

4 MC loving stars!

Hero: 4.5 stars!! Oh Greeley. I want a Greeley. First of all, his name?! Wonderful. I loved how he loved her so much, and staked his claim and quit fighting what they have fairly quickly. He fought for both of them… and it was lovely to read!

Heroine: 4.5 stars!! Oh Merritt. (okay, her name I didn’t love so much). She is such a confused woman. I was rooting for her the entire time. It wasn’t even that she needed to get her head out of her ass, it’s that she was raised with certain expectations and she doesn’t know how to reconcile everything. I don’t always love heroines; they usually annoy me. Merritt, however, was awesome.

Plot: 4 stars!! I really enjoyed this story. Also, the writing was fantastic which is always a nice bonus. The story doesn’t span that long; almost 40% of the book was for ONE day. I think that’s a little much, but luckily I never got bored. There is actually more going on than you think at first, and by the end of the book you are wondering “Well what now?!” (this is about the backstory, not the couple). The overall plot is great, heartbreaking, and a little freaky. I wasn’t expecting the backstory to continue on which was a surprise I was okay with.

Sex Scenes: 3.5-4 stars! The scenes were hot and fit the characters and plot. Sometimes I wanted a little more, but that is because I’m a pervert.

What I loved: The story; the main characters. I love that the couples story was wrapped up without tooooo many loose ends, but the backstory doesn’t seem to be over.

What I disliked: To an extent I would have liked a little more background on the H especially. We get a short overview, but I think it helps to understand his past to get where he is now. I just wanted it to dig a little deeper. I also think since almost 40% of the book was focused on one day, it would have been nice to shorten that up a bit. It was starting to drag just a little.

Will I read this author again? Yes, definitely. This series has hooked me, so I can’t wait to read on!

In short: A great MC story that isn’t full of fluff! Wonderful characters!

Starting off the first book in a new series with a hot and steamy sex scene is a risk. You’re either going to entice readers to want to read more about the two characters in question, or turn them off with the blatant images presented. Ms. Crane seems to be doing her fair share of risk-taking these days, with her Dystopian erotic romance series The Edge paving the way for an audience of readers that are getting used to her new bold style. As it turns out, the prologue that introduces the Devil’s Keepers motorcycle club (DKMC) series did its job in hooking me completely and I was more than ready for the tightly paced and intense second chance romance that revved all my engines and has left me wanting more.

Next time I see you baby, I’m either going to keep you or kill you. No in between. Those words have haunted Merritt Broussard since the day she’d left the stagnant small town of Lagrange, Louisiana, and the man whose bed she’d willingly warmed for the previous three months. A dare from her best friend Lanie to visit a local strip club frequented by members of the DKMC resulted in the brief yet fiery affair with Joseph ‘Greeley’ Shaw. Even visiting home that summer, when she was twenty-two and in between colleges was a mistake, or so she tells herself. It left her with a broken heart when she had to leave Greeley for law school, a plan she wasn’t going to put aside even for him.

But things in New York didn’t work out the way she’d hoped. For five years she’d stayed away from Lagrange and thoughts of Greeley, but after starting her law career, she’d become entangled with a man, her boss, who had become more and more controlling and abusive. Worried about her safety, she thought the only place she might have some peace would be her old home. Her estranged father had passed away three months prior and she hadn’t attended the funeral (an absence that had been noted). Cleaning out the house gives her the excuse she needs to return to Lagrange without having to reveal that she’s on the run. But nothing escapes the notice of the DKMC and when Greeley hears that she’s back in town, he’s on her doorstep, ready to make good on his promises. Greeley has his own problems these days, club concerns that take most of his time, but nothing will keep him from getting Merritt back into his bed. Trouble is coming down on them from both sides. Will they make it through to a happy ending?

I don’t read a lot of motorcycle club series but I’ve read a few, and this one seems to have all the main details down pat. The men have an interesting relationship with the women in their midst. For most, getting laid at the end of the day and avoiding commitment seems par for the course, with the exception of those who have an ‘old lady’ (and even then, faithfulness is not guaranteed). The clubhouse scenes take on the rough, gritty, and sex-laden atmosphere one expects. Things aren’t okay in MC land and it’s clear that there is tension between Greeley and the MC president Digger who is becoming increasingly closed off and secretive. There are a fair number of scenes centered at the clubhouse or at the local strip club, where Meritt’s best friend Lanie still works. In fact, the town of Lagrange is pretty clearly under the protection of the club and everyone has some kind of involvement with it. Merritt’s father was the doctor for the club members for many years and as a result Merritt has got a standing of sorts with the members, not to mention that everyone is aware of her hookup with Greeley before and knows to keep their hands off. I like how the business of running the club is detailed, the politics that runs behind the decisions and how the characters interact with each other.

Greeley appears at first to be a fairly stereotypical biker. He’s hard, he’s rough, he’s all business. He’s also nursing a little bit of a broken heart from when Merritt left him, though he’ll never admit it out loud. Having her back in town pushes him to face those feelings, though he’d rather just imagine that their relationship was only ever about sex. In truth, he’s a very intelligent man who enjoyed the conversations he had with Merritt as much as the sex. Though at first he tries to maintain an emotional distance from her (even as he is ready to re-establish his physical dominance) it’s not long before he is sharing things with her that make Merritt realize how much value she has in his life, and it’s a lot more than she expected. As far as Merritt goes, she’s coming to grips with the fact that she’s never let go of her feelings for Greeley either. She might have put them out of her mind while in New York, but they are very present now. The difficulty is in believing that she could be safe here in Lagrange. She knows her ex won’t stop looking for her, and that she’ll have to move on soon if she’s to keep one step ahead of him. She doesn’t yet trust Greeley enough to spill the details of why she’s really back, and Greeley can sense she’s got one foot out the door again. This time though, he’s not going let it shut on him.

The second half of the story brings the situation Merritt faced in New York right to her doorstep in some intense and exciting scenes. Plus, the club problems take on some new significance. Not all the subplots in this story are resolved, paving the way for an ongoing story arc in the next few books. Merritt and Greeley do admit to their feelings (along the way experiencing some pretty steamy scenes together) and we get a happy for now ending that’s appropriate for the characters and the lifestyle. I hope the next in the series, Devil’s Mark is just as good as this one.

I love Ms. Crane's books. Her Edge books are some of my favorites. So having to give this one 3 stars really hurt.

Merritt was a little wishy-washy. Really she was going to leave him. Greeley was yummy and for a bad a$s biker wasn't afraid to say and show his love for her. I was expecting some really hot bedroom scenes, but they were just meh. Plus there are holes all over the place.

"You don't have to go anywhere." He leaned in, resting his forehead against hers and feeling her breathe against him. The way she was supposed to. "But it doesn't matter if you do. If you run. If you're out on some roof again. Whatever. When you're ready to come home, baby, all you have to do is look around and I'll be right there to catch you and bring you back. Always."

This is the type of book that you really read it for entertainment purposes only.
It's not the best story line I ever read but its entertaining and easy read.
However, it's definitely not a book you want to read it in public because it is H O T.

The storyline is very fast pace and very predictable.
I wish it was more action based and has more badass scene since it is a biker book.
But it was more heavily on the romance instead. No complains but I wanted to action.
The character involvement and introduction is small and simple, no complicated details.
I can't wait to read about all the other characters.

The male lead is definitely a romantic person.
Like its a good change since its always the the woman showing their feelings and love.
He could sweet talk to me everyday.
I honestly roll my eyes with the female lead a fair few times.
She is quite annoying but I kind of get it with where she is coming from, how she feels and grew up.

Excited to read the rest of the series and other characters!

"Because if it's the second one, don't you think it's high time you asked yourself what happens if you decide to stay If you do what makes you happy for a change?"

I discovered this author from the Deacons mc series. I found her style similar to Kati Wilde and as I'm a Wilde fanatic I immediately bought 3 of this author's books.
Greeley and Merrit spent a summer together where at the end he told her he loved her and asked her to stay in their small town. Merritt had plans of being a lawyer however so she left to go to school and make something of herself.
Five years larer she returns a lawyer buttrying to escape her ex boyfriend who was a scary guy.

This was our reintroduction to Greeley~

Joseph “Greeley” Shaw kicked back against the clubhouse sofa and sank his hands deep into the hair of the blonde on her knees before him with his cock down her throat. She was some drunk sorority bitch who had rolled in from Baton Rouge with a bunch of her slumming LSU girlfriends, looking for the kind of party they could tell war stories about back in the dorm between boring formals with dumbass frat boys. Greeley was happy to help her out.

One of the main reasons m not a fan of second chance romances is because there's generally sleeping with Other People during the separation. Merritt had one boyfriend during the five years and Greeley did as bikers do. As much as I can't blame Greeley for moving on I became uncomfortable at this point but because I enjoyed this author's writing I continued.

Shortly after Greeley 's time with the OW he learns Merritt is back in town and tears off to find her. The confrontation between them is heated especially as the attraction is still fierce between them. They start arguing then start making out. They are stopped from having actual sex by Greeley 's phone ringing. As he leaves, in anger at what Merritt says to him he says ~

“Tell you what,” he said, rough and hard, no give in him at all. “When you crawl into your twin bed upstairs and get your own hands in that hot little cunt to take the edge off, remember this. Right here. You climbed me like a fucking pole and were about to take my cock despite the fact another bitch was polishing it not even an hour ago.” His mouth kicked up in one corner then, hard and dark and so knowing it hurt. “Welcome home, Merritt. I’ll see you real soon.”

As much as i was enjoying this author's writing my stomach kept rolling as my mind replayed the above, added to that Merritt annoyed me for her spineless, cowardly and often times immature behavior as well as the fact thar her ex was the main bad guy i just couldn't continue. Up until the point I stopped Greeley had been determined to get Merritt to see that they had something together. He was going all out to protect her and to that point had not been with anyone else. As i don't have brain bleach however i still couldn't continue with the story.

Now this one I could fan girl on in a heartbeat. 5 stars for me. I started it yesterday evening and stayed up until 2am reading it. Believe me I have to really be into a book to stay up reading that late. I first fell in love with this author's writing in Make You Burn (The Deacons of Bourbon Street). Her writing is so descriptive that I feel like I'm watching a movie instead of reading a book. In the former book she took me back to my visits to New Orleans and in this book her descriptions of Louisiana Cajun country and old southern culture just put me in the scene. I absolutely loved the main characters and the love story was one of the best I've read in a while. I can't wait for more books in this series. I could just keep going on and on about this book but suffice it to say that I loved it.

Merritt is the good girl from the right side of the tracks destined to leave podunk LaGrange for bigger and better things. Her BFF, Lanie, is the total opposite of Merritt, wild, free and happy to stay true to her roots. Merritt takes a bet from Lanie and shows up at the strip club and meets Greeley. He's the bad boy MC club member who hasn't led a rosy life. They feel the instant attraction and within an hour have hot sex, which leads to a summer of clandestine meetings. Greeley is a hard a** but he falls and falls hard for Merritt. He begs her to stay with him and not follow her plans of the ivy league college and law school. But she runs. Merritt's daddy is the doctor for the club, not a member, and he's always kept her away from the club members. He's a cold father, giving little affection but always pushing Merritt to leave and get away from LaGrange. She leaves Greeley behind and finds a new career and life in New York City.

Five years later, she's back in LaGrange hiding from her crazed boyfriend. Greeley told her when she left the first time not to ever come back. Thus begins the story of first love, only love and love rising from the ashes between Merritt and Greeley. He fights it at first and comes across as a total a**. She fights it at first because she feels she has to do what her father wanted, leave LaGrange. But in the end, she knows Greeley is the only one she can love and he's the only one that can protect her. She finds that, after all, LaGrange is not such a bad place to be.

I would rate this book more than 5 stars if possible and I hope there's another book coming soon for T'Roscoe. Loved the secondary characters and can see the potential for a series here that would hook me completely.

This review is hard for me because I love this author, and I loved the writing style of this book, and I was loving it and hooked right away. Megan Crane never disappoints and hooks you the second you start her books. But I have to say this book is a DNF for me. Sadly there is just too many triggers for me, and if I'm being very honest I think the hero is a jerk and after one specific scene I had a hard time liking the heroine. I know no one is perfect but there are huge no no's for me and just plain ol gross for me that made me want o shake the heroine. I am the first to scream from the mountain tops that I love a jerk hero who redeems himself but wha the hero says and does I can't get past and II hope he redeems himself but for me there isa line a hero can't cross.

I was so looking forward to this book, like I said I have loved all the book from this author int he past and even after this i will still read her books, and she will still be on of my favs but I can't get past some things. I know everyone has different taste so if you don't have hard line triggers I can't recommend this book enough you will love it. And I know some think having "issues" with books is stupid or being to sensitive or that it's fiction and thats great that some can feel that way but I can't. When I read I can't detach from the book and I'm sure a lot of that is because I put myself in the heroines shoes and I know most of that is because thats just who I am.

As I said if you don't have triggers(and I admit I have several) read this book, the author does and amazing job creating this world and sucking you in. Her descriptions make this world very real and I know many will love this book. In fact I know many already did(many of my friends recovered ARC's). I have never done this before, I have had authors ask me to read books but when I see a trigger will tell them thank you but I can't so I don't take not finishing this book lightly but when I sit and think about it I know me finishing this book would be worse than stopping where I am.

3 Stars - 3 Flames

Although I liked the concept of this MC based read, it left me feeling slightly underwhelmed. Not in the "I didn't like it" state, more like "I didn't really get it" kind of way. And that's really hard for me to admit considering I was so drawn in with the Prologue.

After Merritt's father passes away and feeling scared of her boyfriend in New York, Merritt seeks "solace" in her hometown of Lagrange. But returning to the town she left behind before attending law school isn't exactly the "welcome home" most would picture. She's returning to the town she fled from. Away from her father, the "going nowhere" of the town, but most importantly, the guy she had a three month fling with right before she left for school. She never forgot his parting words and is scared to find out what might actually happen now that she's back.

Five years ago Greeley lowered his guard and allowed himself to fall for Merritt during a hot and steamy summer. But even though he professed his feelings for her and asked her to stay (Prologue), she still left him behind. Fast forward to the present and Greeley is Sergeant at Arms for his MC, Devil's Keepers, where the tension within the club is getting pretty intense. So when he hears that Merritt is back in town, things get pretty heated, pretty fast. And then....

Sigh...this is where is I become underwhelmed. Everything starts off so promising, but then there's no true character building. The timeline is erratic (not smooth) and then, bam...it's over. Yeah, there's a little bit of drama within the club and it's a good way to keep the series going, but I just felt like there was useless filler instead of building. Does that make sense? I hope so because that's why I'm still giving this one a 3 star rating. The pull was there, the sex was hot, the concept was even there, but it was just...sigh...sorry. Just trying to be honest.

Unfortunately I am giving up on this author. This is the third book I've attempted read by her and while the plot was interesting, the style of writing is just not for me. Too much time is spent on the inner thoughts of the character rather than on the development of the story line. In the entire first chapter, only two words are spoken. It's too easy to lose the reader in the constant descriptions of driving or what the house looks like.

Also....we're led to believe that in 5 years the main character completed her undergraduate degree, finished law school and passed the bar? This just isn't possible. Undergrad alone is typically 4 yeas, law school is 3 years (You cannot work at your own pace) plus passing the bar. Then she lands a job at one of the successful criminal justice firms immediately out of law school? The timing just doesn't add up which is a major turn off for me. I kept going back and making sure the timing in my mind is correct; she repeatedly says she left 5 years ago to go to college when she was 18.

Book Thoughts: I am always looking for a new MC Romance. Devil’s Honor (Devil’s Keepers #1) by Megan Crane is a second chance romance full of angst. The first time Greely and Merrit see each other after 5 years apart he is an ass. It did not bother me and I understood where he was coming from as he obviously was hurting. He is harsh and I was shocked at what he says to her. I was still able to continue but I felt the angst in the story took over and as much as I seemed to understand where they were coming from I could not feel any of their hurt.

Very descriptive writing where I really felt like I was in the bayou. While I loved this I also thought it was too much.

Got some serious club business that I love to read in my MC Romances. But as soon as I got into the club drama it was taken away too quickly. I needed more secondary characters to be involved in this and maybe something to look forward to.

Not a hit for me but not all a bust either. I needed more character and plot growth.

Overall, I thought Devil’s Honor was a good book. It was a quick, easy read and a great second chance romance. Merritt pulled me in right away and had me wanting to know more about her and Greeley’s story. Greeley and Merritt made for one interesting couple. They really were opposites, but they made up for their differences in some scorching hot chemistry. Their chemistry was undeniable and I loved how Merritt brought out the alpha in Greeley.

For the most part, I really enjoyed this book. I thought that the plot was entertaining and I loved how sweet Greeley was with Merritt. However, I did have a couple of issues with this story. I had a few problems with the flow of the story. It wasn’t always on track. It felt like there certain moments where the story skipped ahead or a part was left out. And those moments left me feeling confused, and I would have to try to figure out what was missing. Also, Merritt did drive me a little nuts with her back and forth with Greeley. He honestly was a great guy, so unlike most of the bikers you read in other stories, and I just wanted to shake Merritt for the way she acted sometimes.

Even though I had some issues with this story, I have to say, the overall bones of it were good and despite the problems I had, I couldn’t stop reading. I had to know how things would turn out for our two main characters. Overall, I think this series has a ton of great potential. I think if the kinks are worked out, this will make for a really exciting biker series.

The cover grabbed my attention. The premise of the book got me excited about reading this story.I found this story to be just an okay read for me.The heroine denies or lies and runs so often that it becomes irritating. Their first couple of interactions I did not care for. It took a few times before I saw the connection they had as a good thing during their interactions and not something bad. I actually started to like them better together. They do have some hot sex scenes. Overall, her behavior didn't work for me.This book had danger, a stalker/abuser, fighting, and an MC. I look forward to seeing other characters get their happy ending.

Everything seemed too heavy. Merritt's whole issue about the town seemed heavy. Her not coming back for her dad's funeral seemed heavy. I just got tired of it on Greeley's behalf.
If you like MC genre it tends to be intense but I think Merritt was the reason I did not like the book. She barely tolerated her friend Lanie.

Quick disclaimer here: I love motorcycle romances. So for me what was a 4-star book, might be 3 or 3.5 to someone else. I'm kind of forgiving in that way. Anyway, moving on...

I liked Merritt for the most part. Or at least as much as I can like someone who hates who they are or were because of where they're from. I really can't identify with that kind of self loathing and Merritt REALLY wallows in it. I think it's a big part of her character until maybe the last chapter or two. What I DID like about Merritt and her story was that the author didn't go with the boring old "my ex was abusive and is now a stalker" theme. It was a really refreshing twist on a tired trope.

Greeley was pretty cool. Of course, at the start of the book (in the present), he's a total dick and I really didn't like him a whole bunch. But as the book went on and I saw more inside his head, he became much more interesting and fun. As you'd expect, I LOVED his protective streak and it was nice to see him be intuitive as far as the danger than Merritt was in is concerned. Most authors strive to make their motorcycle heroes NOT stupid and Greeley was a great example of this.

The Sexy Time was pretty scorching. And there was enough of it. I was glad that it wasn't wall-to-wall Sexy Time and that the author gave plenty of character development and that the plot was fairly consistently paced. I don't always love second chance romances but this one was fun and neither the hero nor heroine brought too much baggage.

I enjoyed this first book in Megan Crane's new motorcycle romance series. The characters were fun but not too cliched. There was a good mix of Sexy Time, action, and humor. I also liked that there's a little side story that's going to go on in the background and it looks like its going to span the series. Something about the leader of the MC and possibly something with the town executives. I don't want to give anything away so you'll just have to read it! I would recommend this book to fans of MC romance that want a little dash of New Orleans heat. I, for one, will be coming back for more!

I have a different set of expectations for biker romances than I do other books, and this one hit the spot. It's hard to find quality ones of this genre that have great smut, interesting plots, and good writing without being too over the top.

** I received this Arc from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. **
This is the story of Greeley, the sergeant of arms of the Devil Keeper's and Merritt. The two of them met the summer before Merritt was leaving for college and the story briefly touches that time frame in the prologue which starts off very steamy! But Merritt is hell bent on leaving Louisiana and her small hometown and even Greeley can't get her to stay. The story then fast forwards 5 years with Merritt coming home running from her ex boyfriend. This is where the story kind of stalls for me a bit, I am at 50% of the book and in story land only 24 hrs has passed. The writing is extremely descriptive which is great but it does stall the time frame. I would have like to get more glimpses of their relationship progressing or even more character development of other Devil Keeper members since this is going to be an on going series, other than half way through the book saying "and then a few weeks have passed" and move to just another 24 hr time period to finish the story.
That being said I did enjoy the book and would recommend this as a quick light read to my friends. I do look forward to seeing what happens with the Devil Keeper members since we do have a teaser of future problems.

TW: DV? Heroine was in an abusive relationship. Attempted assault.

Reading this makes me sentimental for the good old days when I first forayed into the adult romance genre and all I consumed was MC romance. I loved Megan Crane's post-apocalyptic romance series (and gushed about it on the blog), so when I saw this book on sale and featured a biker hero, I immediately one-clicked.

Greeley kinda reminds me of Tyr (The Edge book 1 hero) and I love him and his rough ways. I love how he didn't want to want Merritt, especially after how their affair ended in the past, but he also couldn't stay away from her. Their chemistry is so intense! I was completely engrossed in the scenes whenever they were together.

Book 2 next!

I love to read new to me authors. In this case, it was also intriguing to see another author's take on the workings of an MC. This one taking over a small town deep in the bayou. This is a second chance romance. Hearts were broken once upon a time and neither Merritt or Greely have been able to move on.

I liked the world building and getting to know the secrets of this small town. I loved Merritt's best friend. Something sinister is still afoot with this MC. Things are going to get a whole lot worse before they settle.

Loved Merritt in this one. Very strong lead. A woman who knows what she wants. Of course, true love can change those plans in a heartbeat.

I'll be reading the next book for sure, just to see what this club gets up to next.

Oh my.... well I loved the story... I was not sure at the beginning as I was NOT a fan of Merritt... walking away from one of my favorite biker heroes of all,,,, Greeley ...hot and heroic.....and one who admits his love... HOTTEST...lol.

There is club drama going on, there is Merritt's return from NY with trouble coming swiftly after her... her best friend she left behind when she fled home.... the bikers that you want to know more about.... I cannot wait for the next book.... I want to know more about the bayou and the Devils Keepers men... read it in a couple of hours while refusing to putting it down... Thank you netgalley and Megan Crane...~

I really don't know where to start. That's not because the book was bad, but it was because the book wasn't great either. It just felt kind of blah. There were a few good scenes, but then there were scenes that just didn't make any sense. Merritt was disappointing throughout the whole story. Greeley seemed like he was an uber hot alpha and she ruined the romance for me.

Sizzling hot and combustible!

When Greeley and Merritt are together that is what they are. Problem is, he can't seem to convince her to stay. After five years of being gone though, this time may just be different.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

There was part of the book where it went from 4 stars down to 2.5...

I liked EVERYTHING else, but that one beginning where he did something ... just a huge no-no for me.

I have read alot of MC books of late so had to look into this one. I had read another book from this author so thought this would be one too since I did like her writing. It will pick you up right away and take you away with it centering around Merritt and Greeley. Also would say a second chance one two since this is not there first time around. Now older and better we go with them as things speed along. Crazy comes a knocking but doesn't have a place up against this one. Heat will also be the fuel but the drama will carry it along. By the time you get to the end of this one you will be scorched.

This is exactly what I want from an MC romance - lots of dirty, hot fun, with two main characters that can't stay away from each other. I'm moving on to #2 in the series...
