The Taggart brothers’ wild romance ride continues with the new novel from the bestselling author of Renegade.

Rough riding Bodey Taggart may be rock hard and tough as nails, but even he has a soft side when the right woman comes along...

Bodey has always followed his own rules: live hard, play hard, and win big. But when his wild ways give him two concussions within a month of each other, his brothers lay down some new rules: no bronco busting, sky diving, or ATVs for the rest of summer. It seems the only pastimes not restricted are shooting competitions...and women.

Beth Tivoli is new to Bodey’s circle of friends, and unlike any woman Bodey has ever met—she isn't about to follow him into bed. She’s not looking to hook up with anyone, especially when she’s trying to escape her past. Bodey quickly realizes that courting Beth is no game, and despite her resolve, they both begin to discover that maybe romance can be different this time around...

Coffee Dates with Maverick:

First Date: After two concussions, Bodey is lying low for the summer. Which for him means no daredevil tricks like riding broncos, skydiving and ATVS. Instead, he is taking part in a shooting competition, complete with period dress, shops, food stands and prizes. We meet Beth Tivoli, a quiet, guarded young woman who is not at all interested in Bodey. Alright, she is very interested, but she has enough trouble keeping her past from finding her. Right away, I enjoyed the connection between these two and needed to know what has Beth spooked. We get to enjoy some banter, and I loved when Beth surprised Bodey.
Second Date: Brigham weaves in a nice touch of suspense with Beth’s secret and it enhanced my enjoyment and kept me flipping the pages. We get to see a slow building romance develop between Bodey and Beth. It is the kind of budding romance with awkward moments and knocks your socks off kisses. I am all in and feeling giddy.
Third date: A Dog and Beth’s secret will melt your heart. Bodey’s fall was fantastic, and the telling of it had me in stitches even as I occasionally wiped a tear over tender moments with an absolute cutie. The suspense escalated as we move towards its climactic conclusion. Brigham did an excellent job of balancing the threads and weaving them into a realistic tale. I admired both characters, and their romance felt genuine. A delightful epilogue left me grinning like a lovesick fool.

Maverick (Taggart Brothers #3) by Lisa Bingham Bodey has always followed his own rules: live hard, play hard, and win big.

Opposites attract...
When Beth is not avoiding food, she's flirting with Bodey and avoiding her past.
Bodey's masculinity and his down home easy care appeals to her but she has her own well of secrets that eventually catches up with her.
Maverick is actually a fairly good read however I didn't quite mesh with Beth as a person. It caused a little rift that I preferred to skip through at certain points just from how much it annoyed me. I still liked the emotional journey which made it all worth while.

Cowboys done right…

I loved the first two books in this series and I couldn’t wait to crack open this one! You know that feeling, when you see a cover and you just want to grab it with both hands, turn off the world and curl up and read until you finish? Yes, this is just that.

“He competed because something deep inside of him, some restless, prickly portion of his nature, demanded that he push himself to the limits, physically and mentally.”

Bodey, oh Bodey… sexy as sin and a lover of women, he is always on the move, looking for the next win, the next rush. It’s not that he isn’t happy, he is. He is taking his unexpected down time with grace even if he has his eye on the next big thing. Yet, when Beth Tivoli crosses his path – with strength and secrets packed into her petite frame – all he knows to be true is tossed on its ear.

“He was pretty sure this wasn’t the kind of woman interested in a little harmless fun. And he wasn’t the kind of man capable of offering her anything more.”

Beth, on the other hand, has a lot on her plate, and a man – even a temporary one – was not something she could even contemplate. She had a lot at stake and trust was hard to come by, even as he broke down every last defense. And he did it with warmth and charm and a smile that I really want to see for myself (it sounds just that good!). There was mystery surrounding Beth, Brody knew it, but his cowboy tendencies won out each and every time. Beth couldn’t resist a good, sexy man and he was all that.

“There wasn’t a woman alive who wouldn’t respond to the sight of a male dressed head-to-toe in cowboy finery, and Beth was no different.”

I loved both of these characters who were so genuine. All the characters in this series are people you know or would want to know, and call friend. True friendship and loving hearts in all kinds of packages are what you’ll find and Beth and Bodey are my new favorites. LOL – I always say that! ~ Diane, 4.5 Stars

I really enjoyed reading Maverick, the 3rd book in the Taggart Brothers series. I feel the author does a great job blending romance along with suspense.

Bodey is one slick cowboy. He's been around the block and isn't necessarily ready to settle down but one look at Beth and he's intrigued. Like his brother's he's , always willing to help a damsel in distress.
I was on pins and needles for the first half of the book. I kept waiting for Beth to divulge the secret that she's been hiding. What's holding her back from moving forward with Bodey.

Once the secret was revealed I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. It wasn't a new storyline but the author does a good job keeping it exciting.

I also love the setting of these books. The Wild West competitions, the county and their outfits are a character their own.

Review copy given with no expectation.

You need to read this series! Period. The end. Go one-click right this second! Bingham is masterful at delivering humor, heart, and seriously swoon-worthy heroes. Go get them. Go get them now! lol

Alright, yall. So, Maverick. Gosh it was fun. It's set at a shooting competition where they dress up in old fashioned clothes, have competitions, charity events, and a tent-city where all sorts of old timey items are sold. How fun! The hero, Bodey, is there for the competition. His heroine? She's working in one of the tent-stores that belongs to his friends. There's just something about the standoffish woman that sparks his curiosity and has him wondering what she's hiding...

Beth was one of those heroines that just makes your heart ache. She's struggling-- struggling to keep enough food in her belly and a roof over her head and to protect what's hers. She keeps her secrets close to the chest and tries to keep everyone at a distance. Prickly and skittish? Maybe. But she's a survivor. I just. Yall. She broke my heart, made me proud and had me wanting to wrap her up and keep her safe.

And Bodey. Lordy. I did enjoy him, too. He's sexy. all alpha male, and cheeky as hell. He's an adrenaline junkie that's been sidelined due to an injury and is trying to figure out what he's going to do with his life next. He was such a great hero. I can't tell all because it'll be spoilery but, yall, I had some serious swoonage happening over Bodey. So damn good.

Their romance was really touching. It's a whirlwind romance since it's happens over the few days of the competition but it worked. It didn't feel rushed or implausible. The connection was there. The lust and passion and the caring. It was nicely done and had some good steam behind it, too!

Now. Back to these Taggart brothers. Bingham knows how to write a seriously lust-able male, that's for sure. Whew! These are the men every woman dreams of finding one day. They may be a little damaged and in need of a healing touch but these men are real men. They're strong, confident, caring. They have kind hearts and a naughty twinkle in their eyes. Are protective and let their guard down now and again. They're just amazing men and made this series very special.

All in all, Maverick hit the spot. The romance and passion, the characters, the surprises along the way, the little touch of suspense. Bingham has a winner on her hands!

Three ranching brothers all get their romance and this is wild adrenaline junkie Bodey's story. I've loved the Taggart Brothers' series since Elam jumped on the pages in book one bringing along his brothers and a fun western small ranch town setting along with an exciting Wild West Competition. Bodey is a competitor and now the story swings full circle for another Old West Competition and the third Taggart to get the final story in the series. This was an exciting blend of romance and suspense, family, and western fun.

Maverick is book three in the trilogy and works best when read in order, but it would also be fine as a standalone.

The story opens with Bodey Taggart competing in a shooting competition in Cheyenne, WY. The competition is unique in that the competitors must use period weapons and dress in authentic gear. Bodey is somewhat disappointed that he's not out on the rodeo and cow cutting circuit, but a concussion and adamant older brothers have him restricting his competitive spirit to less hazardous challenges for the moment. Bodey loves seeing his older brothers happy after finding their special ladies and settling into family life and he wants that, too, but a part of him is constantly restless and can't settle on one woman or staying still. It has earned him a reputation and he can tell by the steely-eyed expression he gets from the new woman working Syd and Helen's booth selling authentic clothing. He's never had to work so hard to get a woman to go out with him and he certainly hasn't met one as closed off as Beth that has him reassessing his care-free life. For the first time, he wants to be with someone and know them. He senses that Beth is in trouble and sets out to win her trust.

Beth Tivoli was desperate for a job and money to help support her and her younger siblings who are on the run. Kind-hearted Helen and her equally generous husband are great employers. Beth might not get this crazy group who like to dress up and pretend for a Western-style shooting competition and festival, but they all seem good people. An encounter with Bodey Taggart has her heart racing and her internal alarm going off, but not because she thinks he'll try to hurt her. No, he's the first man that she has a spark of interest in and he's interested right back. This is dangerous. She can't get close to people or let them get close. When this week-long gig is over, she will snag her paycheck, grab her siblings, and run. Staying and accepting help from others is not to be considered. So why is she dreading the end of the week.

Alright, Maverick was another good one. Bodey has his issues and Beth certainly does after her past situation. I love how the author slowly brings out the mystery surrounding Beth and develops Bodey's story as he learns about himself as he's growing close to Beth.

Bodey was a fun hero. He was so cocky, but underneath he's a solid guy. He's a good match for Beth because he doesn't let her push him away and he is a gentle man who still shares the same tough protective streak his brother's have. Seeing him step up in the latter half of the book and take on what he did had me melting in adoration for him. Beth has had to stand alone for so long and she's at the breaking point. I loved seeing care for her younger siblings as best as she can and slowly open up to first Helen and Syd and then Bodey. She honestly had no idea what to do with generosity and people who wanted to help. Sad, but then sweet when she had happiness beyond her dreams.

The backdrop is a lot of fun. I enjoyed the festival setting with the shooting competition, and Old West trappings, loved the addition of Helen and Syd, and that sure was fun to have Elam and PD and then later Jace show up in the story.

The book starts out straight up Contemporary Romance, but then after the half-way point, the suspense slips in. That was good stuff and things got exciting for all concerned. It was a slam-bang finish, for certain.

Saying good-bye to these brothers, the little community, and their romances has me a little sad. Loved this series and hope others who enjoy Contemporary Romance will take the opportunity to pick them up.

My thanks to Penguin Group for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I'm obsessed with the Taggart brothers now! I need to pick up the first two books and devour them. I loved MAVERICK! It's the third book in Lisa Bingham's Taggart Brothers Series and can be read as a standalone. I didn't read the first two books but I will be reading them next. The story takes place at an old western reenactment event where people dress up and compete in cowboy competitions. It was so much fun. I loved the storyline, the characters and the author's writing style. There's danger and  romance with some fun mixed in. I highly recommend it and can't wait to go back and read the first two books.

Maverick can be read as a standalone. I didn't read the previous stories and was able to keep up, but I would like to go back and read the first two books in the series.

Beth takes a job working for Helen at the Hell on Wheels shooting competition. Where people dress in period costumes and shoot. While working thre tent, a cowboy comes in with a migraine. She needs to keep this hot man away from her. She doesn't get attached.
Bodey has always loved the ladies, but they always end up as just friends. Beth isn't like any woman he's dated, but why can't he stay away?
I really liked this book. it sucked me in from start to finish.
The writing is great and the story flowed well. It's told in both Beth and Bodey's POV.

Maverick by Lisa Bingham is the 3rd book in her wonderful Taggart Brothers series. This book belongs to Bodey Taggart, our hero, who is very competitive in everything he does. Bodey has suffered some concussions in his previous competitions, and despite warnings from his brothers, he continues to push himself to win.

At one event, Bodey finds himself almost near collapse, with a major headache. Enter Beth Tivoli, who is helping out with sales in a tent run by some friends of Bodey. She comes to his rescue, helping him out of the sun, and giving him drinks to hydrate him. Beth is only staying in town a short time, to make some money, as she is on the run, taking care of her two younger siblings, who are staying at a cheap motel. At the death of her mother, Beth was able to get custody of her brother and sister, but the cult that her mother belonged to wants the kids. Hence, Beth is constantly moving.

Bodey finds himself interested in Beth, even if she is not the usual women he likes. Beth shows no interest in Bodey, though she is attracted to him; after all, Bodey is one hot hunk. Beth does fight her attraction, since she doesn’t plan to stay long, but Bodey constantly gives her a ride to her motel, or invites her to lunch. She accepts, so that to be able to bring home food to her siblings. This starts off as an unlikely romance, but along the way, we really want them to find a way to stay together

What follows is a nice sweet romance, with a couple that truly had nothing in common, but life has a way of changing things. Bodey begins to suspect Beth is hiding something, and is determined to help her. The story becomes exciting, as the villains that are chasing Beth and the kids, finds them. It will be Bodey, his brothers, and their friends who will step up and help Beth. Just when you begin to relax, the danger is still not over, making it even more exciting. I not only grew to love Bodey and Beth, but it was great to see many of the characters of the previous books again.

Lisa Bingham once again gives us a wonderful story that had us worried, and anxious a few times for Beth. I did think the previous story was a bit better, but I enjoyed this book very much, and have become a big fan of Lisa Bingham and this series. I suggest you start with the 1st book, and read this series.

This is book three in the series and can be read as a standalone, but if you read in order you'll get more background information about the other characters.

Bodey Taggart lives most of his life on the road. He competes in a lot of events and travels all over to do so. While at one of the competitions, he meets a woman who is the complete opposite of the women he usually goes for. Everything about her is different and that draws him in.

Beth Tivoli is working for two of Bodey's friends from his hometown. She's passing through town and needs the extra money. Beth has been on the move for almost a year. Her life is complicated and she keeps everyone at arm's length so she doesn't get attached.

They can't fight the attraction they both have toward one another, but being together isn't that simple. Beth has a lot to worry about and she's not sure about trusting someone new. Each time she's with Bodey, he proves to be a man who truly wants to spend time with her. With every little piece of her he learns, Bodey grows more and more protective of her.

This book has a great build up to a dramatic peak and then ends perfectly. I loved Bodey and the other Taggart brothers. His story was a great addition to the series. Sexy cowboys, the women they love, plenty of steam and drama, this series has it all. I can't wait to see where the author will take us next.

The third installment in Lisa Bingham's captivating Taggart Brothers series, Maverick is a charming romance between a rough and tumble cowboy and a feisty yet cautious young woman. While this latest release can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend the entire series.

Bodey Taggart is an extremely competitive cowboy who is always up for any challenge or adventure that comes his way. He is easygoing, laidback and very popular with the ladies, but lately, his life feels a little empty. Sidelined due to a couple of very serious injuries, Bodey is taking the Hell on Wheels competition very seriously when he meets Beth Tivoli. The lovely and spirited young woman is NOTHING like the women he usually dates, so he is very surprised by his attraction to her. When his patented moves fail to win her over, Bodey is taken a little off guard, but he refuses to give up on getting her to go out with him. Realizing very quickly that his feelings for Beth are different than anything he has experienced in the past, Bodey is quite introspective as he reflects on the path his life has taken since the tragic accident that killed his parents and younger sister years earlier. Finally understanding the reasons for his reckless choices and empty romances, Bodey is determined to do whatever it takes to keep Beth in his life.

With plenty of complications already in her life, Beth's unexpected attraction to Bodey is more than just an unwanted distraction. Letting him get close to her is a risk she cannot afford to take but he somehow manages to slip past her formidable defenses despite her efforts to hold him at arm's length. Beth has an enormous responsibility resting on her shoulders and a mistake on her part could have dire consequences for the people who are depending on her. Used to handling her problems on her own, she finds it very difficult to trust anyone and despite Bodey's best efforts to get to know her, she cannot take him into her confidence. Despite her reservations, Beth cannot resist giving in to her desire for the charismatic, fun-loving cowboy. However when her past catches up with her, she has no choice but to reveal her secrets to Bodey but once the danger has passed, dare Beth hope he will still want a relationship with her?

Like the previous novels in the Taggart Brothers series, there is a bit of an insta-love quality to the romance between Bodey and Beth. Their time together is brief but meaningful and the added element of suspense helps to accelerate their feelings for one another. The Taggart siblings and their significant others are mostly absent in this outing due to the Wyoming setting (instead of Utah). With little in the way of external distractions with characters from previous novels, the storyline mainly focuses on the developing relationship between Bodey and Beth which lends credence to their romance. A strategic guest appearance by older brother Elam does provide Bodey with a useful sounding board as he tries to sort through his confusing feelings for Beth. Elam's help is also invaluable when the situation with Beth turns violent and Bodey is even more grateful when his other brother, Jace, makes an unexpected detour to Wyoming just as the crisis with Beth turns dire. When the dust finally settles from a violent confrontation, will Beth and Bodey find a way to live happily ever after?

With an appealing cast of endearing characters, an engaging storyline and a heartwarming, sizzling hot romance, Maverick is a marvelous addition to Lisa Bingham's Taggart Brothers series. The change in setting not only keeps this newest release fresh but the time away from his family provides Bodey with the opportunity to sort through his conflicted feelings. Beth is a vibrant yet sympathetic character whose reluctance to confide in strangers is understandable. The romance between Beth and Bodey is an absolute delight to watch unfold and although they fall in love extremely fast, their connection and emotions ring true. With just a hint of suspense, this delightful novel is a riveting love story that is sure to be a hit with old and new fans of this wonderful series.

I am completely blown away by how wonderful and amazing this story is.

Bodey was always such a light-hearted flirt in the previous books, it’s wonderful to see a deeper side to him. I loved that he’s more than just this womanizing adrenaline junkie. Bodey is loyal and dedicated to his family. He has respect for animals and people, in general. But under his cocky smile, Bodey struggles with finding fulfillment and happiness. That is, until he encounters a fiery little woman with enough attitude to see right through his flirty persona.

Beth is a strong, protective heroine I admire greatly, and not just because we share the same name :) She is the sole guardian of her younger brother and sister and takes any job she can to help care for them. They have to stay under the radar because her siblings’ father is the crazy leader of a religious cult and wants them back into the fold. Beth has no time for a sweet talkin’ hunky cowboy with a smile full of sin. But slowly Bodey works his way under her skin and Beth is powerless against the explosive chemistry between them.

After finishing this book, I am physically and emotionally exhausted. The author has broken and mended my heart throughout the whole story and I loved every minute of it. The character building is amazing. The storytelling is brilliant and the love story is so beautifully fragile, I couldn’t keep the tears in!

MAVERICK is by far one of the best books I’ve ever read. Hands down. If you are looking for a contemporary romance full of heart, look no further. Lisa Bingham’s Taggart Brothers series has everything you need.

Lisa Bingham has done it again! "Maverick" kept me engaged from beginning to end--and beyond. I'm not ready to say goodbye to these new friends from "Bliss!"

Oh how I love Lisa Bingham's ability to bring characters to life through the written word. Lisa is a brilliant story teller who knows how to draw a reader into the world--the hearts and minds--of her characters. When I read her stories, I feel like I'm right in the midst of the action and part of the families and friendships. I laugh, worry, and love right along with the characters in her stories.

I've heard of the SASS events that are highlighted in this series and although I have a huge fear of guns, I feel the NEED to go experience the world of SASS in person! The costumes and the immersion into a bygone world and all of its quirks and traditions, sounds delightful beyond measure. "God bless America!" Love it!

The other reviewers give a great sense of the main gist of the story, but I must comment about some of the supporting characters, namely Queen Helen and Syd. What fun characters! I love, love, love how these two pop into the stories with such a fantastic measure of quirkiness, and yet they offer a real a strength and stability to the Taggart family--the unsung heroes that help hold things together when life goes awry.

The characters in this series are so realistic, I think most readers can connect with them in some way. The emotions expressed are raw and deep. Lisa shares just enough back story for us to grasp the depth of hurt, fear, love, wit, and hope that each character experiences. She is masterful in the way she develops her characters, and I sincerely appreciate her talent!

I came late to the series...like the last book of the trilogy. Three ranching brothers finding love, well, I missed the first two, but overall I didn't feel that impacted my love of the current couple.

Competing in a shooting competition Bodey Taggert opens the story as an adrenaline junkie that is been benched after a series of accidents and concussions. The fun part? The competitors and shop owners were time appropriate clothing, which at times is sexy, but also hot and stuffy. Women fall easily for Bodey's charm, but when he suffers a migraine and stops by the tent of Syd and Helen (friends from back home), he encounters a no-bullshit kind of woman that instantly intrigues him. Beth puts up walls, remains secretive and screams trouble to a man who doesn't want trouble. Well, that changes and now Bodey has to work to win her trust.

Beth Tivoli just needs a no drama, short time job to provide for her younger siblings, who are all on the run. Helen and Syd offer a no questions job, for cash she desperately needs. Riding her bike to and from the event to the hotel, she keeps to herself, trying hard not to draw attention to herself. Drawn to the handsome Bodey, Beth knows she can't get involved even if he is one tempting morsel of a man. Slowly Helen, Syd and Bodey all work their charm and giving ways on her. Beth isn't used to this even as she replicates the love to her siblings.

The romance is mostly sweet with Bodey realizing maybe he is tired of the life he has led. Beth realizes that she doesn't need to do it all on her own. The two learn that maybe the life they planned isn't going to happen they way they planned. The suspense builds slowly as you uncover more about Beth's situation, but the ending happens in a bang of action.

This may be the last book in the series, but it was a good one to end a group of brothers I would really like to have as neighbors. The romance is sweet, but also kind of sensual at moments. Family is family and once your in, it's for life. I loved every minute of this story and wished I had started at the beginning with them. I guess, I could read them backwards?
