Tobin Hale knew that it would raise eyebrows when he moved in with octogenarian Garnet Evans, but he didn’t see another way to protect her from the son who’s railroading her out of her own home. He just didn’t realize it would raise hackles with Jade—Garnet’s fiery, beautiful granddaughter.

Jade Evans doesn’t care that Tobin is the hottest man she’s ever seen; his rugged looks and sweet-talking ways only make her all the more certain that he must be up to no good. When the cowboy digs in his boot heels and refuses to leave, she’s all the more determined to be there to protect her grandmother—no matter how close the quarters with the stubborn, sexy man.

But once Jade sees firsthand the hardworking, fiercely loyal man Tobin is, the only thing that needs protecting is her own heart…

We are together and that makes you mine. I take care of what's mine. From the smallest things to the biggest. Now close your eyes and pucker up, baby, 'cause I am gonna rock your world.”

Nice guys don't always finish last.

Tobin Hale has always been known as the nice guy in his small town, the boy scout that's perpetually friend zoned by women that crave someone with more edge. Leaving town to seek the career he wants may be his answer to everything, but before that he has one last duty.

When Tobin moves in with Garnet Evans’s in order to stop her son from forcing her out of her home, what he didn't expect is Garnet's beautiful and sassy granddaughter to test every ounce of his ironclad control.
The stubble on his jaw wasn't affected like the city guys she knew who didn't shave in an effort to appear more manly. This guy probably scared his razor away. He probably hadn't shaved because he had important manly stuff to do and didn't waste time with trivial stuff like running a blade over that beautifully chiseled face.

Jade may need a break from the hustle and bustle of NYC and working three part time jobs, but she'd never admit it. But when her father asks her to look in on her grandmother that seems to have a hustler that recently moved in looking to hone in on her belongings, Jade knows what she needs to do. But she doesn't expect the tempting cowboy that greets her or the immediate sparks that fly between them
Say yes.” He brushed his lips across hers. Just once. “Admit you want to be a dirty little rule breaker too."
“I do,” she said breathlessly. “Like you wouldn't believe.”

I loved the banter between these two. It starts out with a little hate/lust that soon begins to turn into something much more. Neither Tobin nor Jade deny their chemistry when they finally give into it. Their relationship is a tease at first, the sexual tension spanning over half the book. But when they finally give in? Yowza!

Tobin may be a nice guy, but that man sure has a dirty mouth on him. I loved that he had both sides to him, the dirty and the uber sweet.
Tobin?” she said softly. “What are you doing?”
“Memorizing you.”
“Why?”
Tobin forced his gaze back to hers. “Because when I close my eyes at night, I want to recall with perfect clarity every nuance of this face.”

Garnet and the Mud Lilly's were the perfect comedic relief. Their colorful personalities never failed to put a smile on my face. And while I love the bad boys, it's a nice change of pace to read about a nice guy every now and then.

While I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was a touch too sweet for me at times and I found myself getting restless in the second half. There wasn't much tension going and even though Tobin and Jade burn up the sheets together it just wasn't enough to keep me riveted to the pages. The story was a great balance of sweet and sexy, and if that's what you're in the mood for, this will surely fit the bill.

Tobin is at crossroads in his life. He's been working at the Split Rock Ranch as a ranch hand, and under utilizing his specialties in farm animal reproductive and genetic research. Also, he's watched as each of his friends found love, and settled down, while Tobin, unfortunately, remains alone. Leaving Muddy Gap for those reasons becomes an imperative.

He's all set to take a job in Cheyanne when his favorite Mud Lilly, Garnet, needs his assistance and protection. Seems like Garnet's stunts (Waving a gun around, and being locked up overnight for a drunken disorderly. Yes, she's a bit of an eccentric grandma!) have finally caught up with her, and Garnet's son is wondering if she's safe living on her own after hearing about her shenanigans. Garnet asks Tobin to move in and fend off any movers that might come and try and take her away to a nice, quite, boring nursing home. Tobin is happy to oblige because he couldn't bear for anyone to crush Garnet's free spirit.

Jade Evans loves her Grandma Garnet. She knows GG gets up to trouble here and there, but mostly harmless fun. However, the news that some young cowboy has taken up residence at GG's is worrisome. Jade heads over to Muddy Gap to make sure her Grandma isn't being taken advantage of by some enterprising freeloader. What she finds is an infuriating, but oh-so-hot cowboy challenging her at every turn.

Both Jade and Tobin are dissatisfied with the direction their lives have taken them, so each can relate, (after they stop the snarking and snipping at each other) and find they have so much in common. Their mutual attraction was immediate, delicious, and intense! Love-to-hate romances are a lot of fun especially when they don't go on for too long. Jade and Tobin's relationship was low on drama and hot has hell!

I loved Tobin's determined, bossy, possessive side, and oh lordy, a muscled cowboy gets me hot and bothered! Jade was normally a shy girl, but for some reason she had no problem sparring with Tobin, and pushing his buttons!

All around, Hang Tough was a sizzling romance with great quirky secondary characters, making for a story I thoroughly enjoyed!

I've always enjoyed this series more than LJ's "Rough Riders" series, and this was no exception. Cute, sweet, funny...it hit a lot of my happy buttons.

Tobin has been a staple in the series, the ultimate nice guy who has had to watch all his buddies get the girl. He and Jade were both likable characters, they interacted in a humorous and realistic way, and the first half or so of the book was one long delicious foreplay in their relationship and romance. I did have a bit of an issue once the sexual relationship began, however. Once the sex started, it didn't slow down for awhile. Long scenes that were a bit on the raunchy side, and tended to derail the story for a bit.

It was redeemed by all the interactions with Garnet and the Mud Lilies; and the touching base with previous leads in the series. It was nice to see all the kids and to catch up with everyone's lives.

It was fun for regular readers of the series...

Oh, how I've missed this series! It was such a BLAST to journey back to Muddy Gap! Tobin and Jade's story was so sweet and simply swoon-tastic! Mouth-watering cowboys, crazy Mud Lilies, and a budding romance that will make you sigh over and over again.

HANG TOUGH was a sexy and uplifting journey of two lost souls brought together by a crazy, loving, old soul. I laughed, I teared up, and yet, you couldn't wipe the smile off of my face.

It's sweet, charming, and undeniably steamy! If you thought you knew Tobin Hale from previous books in the series, you have no idea what you're in for. This man loves, and he loves HARD!

"Fuck. I wanted you before," he murmured, "but nothin' like the way I want you now."

He brushed his lips across the shell of her ear.

"Don't retreat after this, Jade. Don't tell me this was a mistake."

See what I mean? Hot DAMN Tobin!

Hate turns into respect, which then turns into a molten chemistry these two just can't deny. The feisty banter turns into flirtatious banter, and then turns into down and dirty filthy talk between these two lovable characters. All the meanwhile, we have ridiculous and loving Garnet in the background making things happen. These characters are just amazing! Like all of the other characters in the Blacktop Cowboys Series, they all have become like family to me.

If you love sexy western romances with HOT cowboys, feisty city girls, and crazy grandmas you just don't know what to do with...then HANG TOUGH is the next book for you!

Tobin, sometimes has to be the semi-responsible one in the relationship, “because your grandma will be up here at any moment. I’d rather not get caught grinding on you with my tongue in your mouth.” I really loved Jade, the girl was snarky, and when she was drunk, entertaining as hell, "he grinned and shed his pants. Jade’s eyes zeroed in on his ***k. Her mouth dropped open and the condom fell out. “Tobin. Is that what women mean when they say, ‘He’s hung like a horse’?” I loved this book from start to finish.

OMG I love Tobin, I have been waiting for his book since forever. I have always loved him and his relationship with the Mudlillies. This book did not disappoint. It is very well written the story flows nicely and the characters are 100% real. I can not wait till the next book in this series comes out. As always Mrs. James wrote a great book.

Hang Tough (Blacktop Cowboys #8) by Lorelei James When Tobin Hale stepped in to stop Garnet Evans’s son from railroading her out of her own home, he knew moving in with his favorite Mud Lily could be seen as strange. But nothing prepared him for the arrival of Garnet’s fiery, beautiful granddaughter, Jade—or her assumption that he’s up to no good...   While Tobin might be the hottest man Jade Evans has ever seen, his physical attributes won’t distract her from protecting her grandma from his sweet-talking ways. But the stubborn cowboy digs in his boot heels and refuses to leave. Stuck in close quarters together, Jade learns Tobin is the real deal—a hardworking, fiercely loyal man and she’s the one in danger of losing her heart.   And just when he was prepared to leave Muddy Gap behind, Tobin may have found the kind of woman worth sticking around for.

I always like to mention how rare five star ratings are in connection with my reviews because it really kind of says how much I either enjoyed the book or how much it affected me on a personal level.
For those who are familiar with my blog I typically equate four star ratings with five stars but five stars set apart those that in my opinion are so much more. Granted everyone will have their own opinion about Hang Tough, some of you will love it some of you won't love it as much but for me I really did.
I loved Lorelei's descriptive imagery in this book, as a writer she has done a great job setting a scene and creating personalities in her cast that appealed to me.
What I mean by cast is obviously the characters in an authors book but I like to think of it as a cast because once in awhile there are just those books that feel alive to me in my mind that play just like a film. I see the people, I feel them and that's what Hang Tough did for me.
I appreciated that between the h/h that there was plenty of sexual dynamic going on without the entire book just being filler between all the sex. We get more personal journey and action this time around along with our more steamier scenes.
Thank you Lorelei for breathing both life and passion together and balancing them out.
I also got a good kick out of the whole magnum hung like a horse three pump chump action. He can be well endowed but that don't mean he's impressive when it boils down to *bang bang bang - ding - done.*
I don't think I laughed so hard as I did when I read that but atleast Tobin and Jade seemed impressed.
Still all the chuckles aside I liked the personal and emotional journey both Tobin and Jade were on, I liked that they got through the hard places and were strong as a couple as they were as individuals. Thank you for sharing them with the rest of us.

Holy, hot cowboy! Hang Tough (A Blacktop Cowboys Novel) is another AMAZING story by New York Times Bestselling author Lorelei James. Tobin and Jade are a normally extraordinary couple who faced real life in a real way. They learned that assumptions are often wrong and love can be found where you least expect it.

This fun, lighthearted story with hot sex, a charming (and nice!) cowboy and a sweet (and shy!) city girl hit all of the requirements for a wonderful plot that lead us to a fabulous happily ever after. Don’t get me wrong; there are serious moments and topics that break your heart. Real life issues that can’t be easily swept away. Watching the characters deal with the ups and downs in life makes for one exciting read.

It’s always fun to see snippets of previous characters. Watching all of the kids growing up is a joy. The Mud Lilies take on a bigger role in Hang Tough and they are divine. My favorite is the animosity between Riss and Ike that is hilariously fun. I’m not sure if they are getting their own story, but I’d love to read it!

Miss James writes with heart. She weaves a story that makes me feel I’m a part of the plot. From her lovely characters to the gorgeous back drop of Muddy Gap, WY. I’m all in when it comes to Lorelei James and her Blacktop Cowboys!

Review copy given with no expectation.

I love all the men of the Blacktop Cowboys series, but Tobin may have just shot straight to the top of my list. His perfect combination of sweet, thoughtful boy-next-door charm and Alpha sexiness makes him practically perfect, in my opinion. His love and genuine affection for the Mud Lilies has always made him appealing, but now I know there's so much more to love about him. Just as he's fixing to leave Muddy Gap to pursue work in his chosen field, his friend Garnet Evans, asks for his help. The more I learned about Tobin--his family history, his goals, his loneliness and frustration with his inability to find work in his career of choice, the more I loved him. When Garnet's granddaughter, Jade, arrives from NYC, it's not exactly love at first sight for her and Tobin. I really enjoyed their interactions-- these two were quite funny and entertaining, but their moments of vulnerability are what really touched me, and had me rooting for them to get both their HEA and for them to realize their career goals.

5 Hang Tough Stars

I loved the Mud Lilies they are a HOOT!

Tobin and Jade cracked me up at the beginning, I know Jade was supposed to be shy and all but she really wasn’t. I do love that when she was passionate she was on fire.

Tobin was fierce for Garnet think her granddaughter was going to come in and report back to her father that Garnet needed to be in a nursing home or something like that. But it wasn’t like that I think Jade just needed to get away and being around her grandmother was exactly what the girl needed not to mention the smoken’ hot chemistry between her and Tobin.

I am glad Tobin kind of reunited with his brother I want his story and I want to see him get a HEA if anyone deserves it he does.

Again I really like the narration she just does’ female and male voice so well I can get lost in the story.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Another fun and sexy story from Lorelei James! It was great to see Tobin meet the woman he needed, one who appreciated his "good boy " charm but recognized that he was that and so much more And meeting Jade was wonderful! She added spice and fun to the Muddy Gap crew. And you can never go wrong with more Mud Lillies!!!

Hang Tough is an enemies to lovers romance that I quite enjoyed. It was at times funny, at times dirty and other times serious. I love how the author was able to jungle all these things pretty evenly without bogging down the story. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who loves romance.

REVIEW: HANG TOUGH is the eighth full-length installment in Lorelei James’s contemporary, adult BLACKTOP COWBOYS erotic, romance series. This is ranch hand Tobin Hale, and Jade Evans’s story line. HANG TOUGH can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Jade and Tobin) HANG TOUGH follows Tobin Hale ( a Blacktop Cowboys series regular) as he comes to the rescue of eighty something granny Garnet Evans. Garnet claims that her ‘absent’ son is trying to take away her freedom following a series of questionable events in her life. Tobin being the shy, sweet natured single, young man he is, offers to move in with Garnet to protect her from what may be coming her way. Enter Jade Evans-Garnet’s only grandchild-and the woman with whom Tobin will fall in love.

Jade Evans loves her grandmother but believes her father is wrong trying to control her grandmother’s life. Meeting her grandmother’s live-in companion Tobin Hale, finds our heroine on both the defensive and offensive when it comes to her grandmother’s protection. What ensues is the building relationship between Tobin and Jade-a relationship that is rooted in family and love.

HANG TOUGH brings together the local Mud Lillies (Pearl, Maybelle, Vivien,Tilda and Bernice)-a tight knit group of elderly ladies who work behind the scenes -aka meddling- ensuring love (among other things) has a chance to grow. Tobin’s long suffering brother Streeter Hale is hoping for another start; and brother Driscoll has chosen sides. Larissa ‘Riss’ takes Jade under her wing as our heroine needs to let loose with the girls. Several of the Split Rock Ranch employees and former story line couples make cameo appearances as well.

HANG TOUGH is a sweet and sexy story about two people brought together by family and love. The premise is entertaining-the story line flows easy; the romance is seductive and erotic-there is plenty of sexual tension between our leading couple; the characters are energetic and fun. HANG TOUGH and the Blacktop Cowboys series will make you want a cowboy of your own.

Let me start this off by saying that I've been looking forward to Tobin getting his HEA for far too long now, and James delivered the perfect match for him in Jade. These two were combustible right from the very start, but they also had an insta-love thing going as well that actually totally worked for them given their personalities. I can't say that I was surprised by the hidden depths Tobin had in all honesty, because I always thought that man was far more complicated than he seemed. I'm just happy that the loneliness driving him away from Muddy Gap seemed to dissipate with Jade's arrival.

But, I did have two areas of concern as I was reading, and I wasn't alone in this after discussing it with a friend. What the heck was up with the Mudd Lilies? I don't want to reveal anything, but let me just say that I didn't get an adequate enough resolution for their actions by the end of the book, and I'm still a bit perplexed. Another sore spot with me was Renner. Over the course of this series, he hasn't really endeared himself to me, and I sure didn't like the way he has been treating Tobin over the last 6 years by stringing him along. I understand Split Rock has evolved and Renner's priorities have changed, but he is kind of disrespectful and neglectful to those he employs as his personal life has gotten more complicated. Anyhoo...those are minor issues...trust me. I'm just heavily invested in this series so I notice things like this!

Overall, I really did enjoy reading Tobin and Jade's story. It was sizzling hot all while being super sweet at the same time, so needless to say it was delightful to read as I devoured it in one sitting. I simply love this whole cast of characters in this series, and I'm always so sad when each book ends to be leaving them until the next time. I'm hoping we get a book for Tobin's brother Streeter (I hate that name btw), because he really does deserves a bit of happiness. Anyhoo, I say definitely give this series a read and I promise you'll love it!

Tobin Hale had one foot out of Muddy Gap. He’s underemployed and realizes he’s going to have to move on to find a better job using his degrees. He needs to get on with his personal life also. He’s watched everyone around him find love and he wants that too. In the small, rural community of Muddy Gap there is no one for him. He’s very torn about leaving because he’s happy at the ranch.
Tobin is such a sweet guy. He’s great with the Mud Lilies, a group of wonderful women fifty years his elder. He’s universally well-liked and treats everyone he comes across so well. What’s not to love? His one fault is that he comes off too easy going, especially in relationships.

Jade is about the last person you’d expect to take to life in Wyoming. She’s bright, educated, talented and driven. She’s the ultimate city girl. Her parents are successful in NYC and she’s always assumed her life would be there. She loves her grandmother though and doesn’t mind taking some time to visit and see how Garnet is fairing after a series of events that has her dad worried.

Though Tobin and Jade seem to loathe each other and are definitely suspicious of each other’s motives, they are mutually attracted and it’s not long until they’re getting closer emotionally and exploring their sexual compatibility. And man are they compatible – hot and sexy.

I love the Mud Lilies. What a hoot that they’re having the time of their lives and being anything but what one expects of women their age.

Lorelei James consistently writes great books. She’s never disappoints. It’s especially hard to impress me since I’m from Wyoming where her stories are generally set. James captures the harsh living conditions, extreme rural landscape and hardy inhabitants perfectly. It’s often things like educated Wyomingites being forced to leave the home they love to find suitable employment or having to take two or more part-time jobs, that prove James just gets it.

Sweet and sultry, cowboys do it right…

If Tobin Hale is a ‘nice’ guy, sign me up! I love this author’s cowboys. Not only are they sexy as sin but they are ‘salt of the earth’ - loyal, solid, trustworthy and loving. I laugh as I write this as it sounds like I’m describing a puppy or something. In truth, what it should reflect is unconditional love and support, and no one embodies those traits more than Tobin. He is at a crossroads but even as he tries to move forward in his own life he can’t help but step up for a friend. Even if he worries that, once again, he is just a ‘nice guy’. What Tobin is, though, is a wonderful mix of nice and bad in all the proper measurements.

“This guy probably scared his razor away. He probably hadn’t shaved because he had important manly stuff to do…”

Jade Evans is immediately suspicious of this ‘friend’ of her grandmother’s. That suspicion is reflected right back at her by her grandmother’s champion. They are both fierce in their concern and doubts and all that emotion has to go somewhere.

“A blistering kiss. A dirty, wet, rule-breaking kiss that felt fantastic.”

This is the eighth story in this series and the heat and warmth surrounded me as I immersed myself in characters new and old. The Mud Lily ladies are as fun and crazy as ever and provide just the right touch of sweet and snark. Jade and Tobin’s take on the enemies to lovers trope is perfect as they find themselves uniting over their shared love and concern for Garnet. Their courtship is funny and oh so hot as they take sneaking around to a whole new level.

“Give me a legit reason why after granny goes to bed that you shouldn’t be climbing that man like a tree and letting him bang you like a coconut.”

This is a series I will never get enough of! ~ Diane, 4.5 Stars

1. So. Damn. Disappointed. I have been waiting for Tobin's story - for him to get his HEA - and this is what I get? Come on, LJ; the plot, the characters, the writing was just weak overall and this was one of my least favorite in the Blacktop Cowboys series. Tobin Hale deserved better. WE, the loyal BTC fans, deserved better!

2. I LOVED Tobin before this book and although he had his moments here; he was sort of blah, boring and very Alpha-lite. I figured after the advice from Renner, we would get some good ol' Alpha Tobin and instead we got ... this.

3. Jade is not the woman Tobin needed to make his story memorable; she was sweet and all, but as forgettable as they come. She was boring, dull, had very little depth or purpose. Tobin needed a woman like Tanna, Harper, Celia or even Harlow. Jade is my least favorite BTC heroine (even below Jainie, Tierney and Lainie).

4. The sex was not all that steamy.

5. This book was pretty low angst which I did appreciate, but the love story was so weak.

Another great story by Lorelei James! Wish I knew one of these alpha males who also has a sweet, caring side to him. Tobin stands up and defends anyone he sees getting a raw deal, whether it's one of the Mud Lillies (you MUST read this series just for this sassy group of older ladies), his brother, or Jade, who he doesn't like at first but quickly falls in love with.

My only issue with the book was that it wasn't longer. Hopefully, there'll be more books in the BLACKTOP COWBOYS series that will give us a glimpse of Jade and Tobin's life together.

Another great installment of the Blacktop Cowboys of Muddy Gap. It is an uplifting story of a wonderful outrageous lady that brings together two lovely young people. If you are new to the series you will fall in love with the Mud Lillies, and if you are not new then you know you are in for a lot of belly laughs. Lorelei's characters are so real that you feel like you are reading about your own family and friends. Another great book to add to my collection of books to keep and reread over again.

Could not put this book down! I've been waiting a long time for Tobin's story and was tickled pink when it involved the granddaughter of a Mud Lilly! (thank you Lorelei James!) The glitter, sparkle, wit and outrageous humor, that winds itself through each and every book is in abundance with our getting to know Garnett and her granddaughter Jade. This was such a fun read right from the first sentence. If you haven't read the BTC Series... you really really NEED to. You'll love each and every book.. without a doubt!

***5 ‘God, it’s good to be back in Muddy Gap’ Stars***

Now this right here is why I love Lorelei James. We have a sweet, sassy and smexy as hell romance with a heaping helping of well intentioned, if not a little over the top, meddling from a cast of characters that I can’t help but love and adore.

Hang Tough starts almost right after Wrapped and Strapped ends and Tobin is at a crossroads in his life. He’s loved his time at the Split Rock, but needs more and has taken steps to attain what he is missing, but soon finds himself in the middle of a family squabble involving his favorite Mud Lily and the good ‘ole boy in him won’t let her deal with it alone. It’s every guy’s fear to be labeled as the “Nice guy” because it is typically means that they are about to be friend zoned, but Tobin really is a nice guy. He’s got more charm than he should, is a hard worker, has a generous heart and has integrity in spades and much of it has to do with how he grew up and the people who influenced him, both the good and the bad. And to see the man he’s become because of it makes it hard not to adore him.

Jade, like Tobin she’s also at a crossroads in her life, but doesn’t have a clue as to what she’s missing. She needs to be busy to satisfy her own sense of self accomplishment, but she’s running herself into the ground. So when she’s told about the young hunk who’s moved in with her GG, she finds herself on an unexpected journey that starts out being about protecting her GG and turns into so much more. Jade cracked me because she describes herself as shy and somewhat awkward in certain situations, but when she feels that your intentions are less than honorable she goes for the throat like a tigress protecting her cubs. I loved her wit and sass and it was fun to watch as she found what she’d been looking for, not only on the outside but on the inside.

Their journey to their HEA started off very rocky, which was actually quite entertaining since I realized things weren’t all that they appeared to be, but I liked seeing how they both affected each other and how it drew them towards each other time and time again. Once they get over their antagonism towards each other, which was a great scene, I loved how they were together. They may have grown up in very different environments, but they were each other’s missing puzzle pieces. Of course one of the best pieces of advice Tobin got came from a surprising source (which boosted my estimation of this particular person) but I liked how Tobin ran with it. Outside of how they started off, there wasn’t a lot of angsty drama going on and holy hell is Tobin fucking hot! It’s always those nice guys, I tell you. But I loved where they were at the end of the book because it fit both of them.

And when it comes to this series I have to comment on the crazy, but oh so amazing cast of characters that we’ve come to know and love. The Mud Lilies were at the top of their game in this one, especially Garnet, and if I didn’t already idolize them and want to be them when I grow up, what they do in this book would have gotten me there. Then there’s catching up with the couple from the previous books and their growing families. We don’t get to spend time with them all and not everyone gets an update, but there was more than enough to have me be one damn happy camper, especially when it came to my absolute favs of the series. And those kids...Tobin has the perfect nickname for them all, but you’ll need to read the book to find that out. *Grins*

Diving into this series always feels like coming home. This is what family, whether it’s by blood or choice, feels like and I love getting lost in it. There were a couple of new developments in this one when it came to relationships between characters as well as some new characters introduced. Ike and Rissa and their extremely antagonistic relationship has me wanting to know what the hell happened between them and Streeter pulled at my heartstrings, so I’m keeping my toes crossed that he’ll get a book/novella somewhere down the road.

Hang Tough is a hot and sexy romance that had me involved from page one. As usual, Lorelei James did a fantastic job on this book.

This feel good story had everything that I love; great characters, steamy passion and sarcastic wit. Like always with this author, it was wonderfully written and easily captivating. At first Tobin and Jade did not get along at all. They bickered and went at each other yet all the while there was this simmering passion between them that was impossible to miss. The sexual tension was off the charts hot and just waiting to boil over, a strong pull that couldn't be denied and it was just a matter of time until they stopped trying.

I absolutely loved Tobin. He was so sweet and loving and caring, but like a true Lorelei James hero, at the same time he was dominant and possessive. Tobin wasn't afraid to let his feelings show which made him all the more lovable. I'm happy that he finally got his turn to be more than a friend to someone and felt that Jade was the perfect woman for him.

"Would you stay here or go with me ?" "Would you want me to go with you ?" she retorted. Tobin didn't even hesitate. "Yes." "There's your answer. Yes, I'll go with you. No matter where that may be. It's not like I'm unemployable and you'd have to support me."

In case you're wondering, not only is this book totally awesome, but Lorelei James involved most of the Blacktop Cowboy gang. I also liked meeting Tobin's brother Streeter and very much want to read his story. I was ecstatically happy with this book and can't wait for the next one.

My thanks to the publisher for generously gifting me with a complimentary copy for review.

I love that Lorelei James gives us charterers that feel like your best friend. They are always so real! She did it again with Hang Tough! I Loved it!
Tobin Hale is ready to move on but he has one thing left to do before he leaves town, and that is to stop Garnet Evans’s son from sending her somewhere else! So he moves in to keep it from happening. What came next was not what he thought would be coming. Garnet’s fiery, beautiful granddaughter, Jade and she thinks he is up to no good...

Jade is asked to go check on her grandmother in Wyoming as a young man has moved in with her. When Jade meet Tobin she thinks he might be the hottest man she has ever seen. But she is going to make sure he will not hurt her grandma in anyway. Now the line has been drawn and the questions is where will everyone land when all the dust has settled.
They are stuck in close space and told they can’t talk to one another. Will that keep them apart or move them closer together? Tobin is hard working and loyal, Jade is learning what she wants to do and has the biggest heart. Will Tobin leave and move on or will Jade win him over? Will Jade want to stay in Muddy Gap or go back to New York? What will happen to Garnet?

Tobin Hale is the sweet, shy cowboy who is looking to make a change in his life; he is ready for more than just being a cowboy he wants to use his degree for more. But when his favorite Mud Lilly is looking to get the boot from her home into a retirement home he decides to move in with her to stop anyone from making her move.

Jade is working multiple jobs and no of them is what she wants, so when her Dad asks her to go spend time with her Grandmother in Wyoming for a month to make sure she is well enough to live alone Jade decides the time will give her a break and let her figure out what she really wants. But when she runs into the strong, sexy, charming, too sweet for his own good cowboy that is protecting her Grandmother things get hot, sticky and make them both wonder if this is the change they were both looking for.

Been looking forward to Tobin’s story, he was always there to help everyone and it was good to get his story. Sweet, sexy, charming, and funny and the Mud Lilies keep it lively. What a great addition to the Blacktop Cowboy Series, would have liked to hear more about the rest of the crew, but this was another great hit by Ms. James.

I am a HUGE fan of both the Blacktop Cowboy and Rough Riders series. Lorelei James has made both these series crossovers exceptional. In this latest Blacktop Cowboy, Tobin finally gets his story told.
Tobin has been with us since the beginning of this series and for those of us diehards, I couldn't WAIT to read his story.
Tobin is a great friend to the 'Mud Lillies', and to Ms. G in particular. When he hears that her son may be forcing her to move to an assisted living facility, he moved in with her to keep the movers away. Instead of movers, he gets surprised to find Ms. G's granddaughter, Jade Evans, has come to stay.
Jade is finding her way in life. She comes out to Wyoming under the direction of her father to see how competent her grandmother is and to also see who this young man is who is taking advantage of her grandmother. She is in for a surprise on both fronts.
Both Jade and Tobin have to overcome their preconceived notions about each other and, of course, this is all done in Lorelei James's style.

I'm sad to write this but I'm DNF'ing at 48%. I'm so BORED with the story. No connection with the characters, the story felt weak, just not for me.

James never fails to provide steamy reads in her Black Top series. Every installment in this series is searingly hot. Most importantly, it never lacks a good storyline and always filled with humor and good romance.

We finally get Tobin who was suppose to leave town looking for a new job. But after a plea from his favorite Mud Lilly, Garnet, he could not refuse but help out. The plan is to stay to protect her from her family who wants to send her away. With her granddaughter now in the picture, his plans are burned to smithereens since finding out her intentions are real and he can't seem to stop wanting to be with her.
Jade can’t believe some stranger is living in her grandmother’s house. Her intentions are to find out exactly what is going on which she does and realizing James is not the money thieving con she thought he was. In fact, he’s as genuine as they come and she can’t seem to resist him.

Though this is not my favorite of the series, I enjoyed it just the same. I thought the story was on the lighter end but it’s sexy as hell. I love Tobin and his gentlemanly persona. I thought he was sexy and the sweetest guy. James is really good when it comes to creating characters that are drool worthy. Good job Ms. James! I’m not sure what’s next, but I’m excited to get more of this series.
