I purchased this book because it's one of the few I have seen that really delves into unicorns for children. Each section presents the different unicorns in a quick, easy to understand way. I think this is a *must* for any home or school library to have! Children of all ages fall in love with this gorgeous book. Yes, even boys end up enjoying this little gem! From traditional unicorns to desert unicorns, and even sea unicorns it's all here! Best of all this book is a lift-the-flap! Usborne is one of my favorite publishing companies because of their high quality standards. Unicorns is no exception. This book has nice sewn in binding, thicker pages and the flaps aren't very flimsy. They are paper flaps though so I wouldn't recommend it for a child any younger than 5 (unsupervised) or you'll be doing a lot of book repairs! Unfortunately the publisher is not making this book any longer. You will have to check out places like thriftbooks.com or amazon.com to find it. I'm planning on picking up more copies myself so my kids are never without this wonderfully unique story book. There is also a companion book called Dragons that is just as good!

Was surprised and delighted to find this wasn't just a cheap story about unicorns, but rather a small yet fun dive into different legends and tales around the world about unicorns. ^_^
