Great follow up to the authors' important 1990 title "Conscious Loving," an easy to understand guide to the workings of our conscious and unconscious minds, the roles we play and the projections we make that prevent us from having genuine and meaningful relationships. This title addresses these same issues as they arise later in life. Made total sense out of my own recent behaviors!
I really enjoyed reading this book. It had some excellent tips for being more present and conscious in relationships. I especially loved the Fear Flavors and the Fear Melters. I think that those can be used in all relationships even non-romantic ones. Even in reading that section, I could recognize that a lot of what I thought were other emotions were really rooted in fear and simply responses to that fear. I liked the idea of the Ten Minute Stuff and Heart Talks too. I really like that they included exercises for both couples and singles too and covered the oft-dreaded online dating world. All in all a great read.
Wow! I read it on the stationary bike at the gym. But the experience was far from stationary. The forward momentum as a result of applying concepts and absorbing lessons learned from these two inspiring teachers is just what I needed. I highly recommend this book to anyone over 50. Thank you! 👏
