Although chock full of woo woo, the author grounds each "super power" in real-world examples and real-world exercises you can put into place to add Meditation, Imagination and Intuition super powers into your life. The text is a quick and easy read, written in a light, conversational tone.
I wasn't pleased with the subfocus on her particular religion. It distracted more than it added to the text, but it is easily ignored or replaced with your own belief system.
On a philosophical point, I'd argue that "Awareness" is missing from this list, and in fact, trumps pretty much any other super power one could possess.
I picked up this book almost by accident. I’m a librarian and a woman requested it in, hoping another lady would come in a check it out. She thought the content would be beneficial to help the second lady improve the direction her life had been taking. Unfortunately the second lady never arrived, but as the book sat on my desk I read the back and decided I would take it home. As the author would say my intuition did not let me down. The book is divided into three sections, one for each superpower you hope to learn. The superpowers are meditation, imagination and intention. In each, the author shares her ideas on how each is important in daily life. She shares personal stories as well as the stories of friends, clients and others that demonstrate her ideas at work. Each section is also filled with different “Jump starts” and “boosters”. A jumpstart is a way you can begin to use or access these superpowers in your day to day life. The boosters are ways to touch on, or boost, the effects of each between when we use the skills. For instance there is “Four breath meditation” jumpstart. It lays out a 5-10 minute meditation practice you can try. Then a few pages later is a walking booster that is simply walking, whether around the block or around a room, taking deep breaths and releasing stress while repeating I am calm as you breath in and out. Typically, I don’t read a ton of books like this one. I prefer a hands on approach to learning, but this book I really enjoyed. The chapters are divided into shorter parts, with several things to try, and many stories that make this book easy to get through. It is literally and anyone can do it book. The only part about this book that took away is she brings her own religion into some of it. Though my core beliefs are based in Christianity, many are not. I feel the teachings here go far beyond any religion. It may turn some people off of here other really good information. All in all though, worth picking up for sure.
I listened to this book years ago on CD and then again on Audible. I bought the Kindle edition as well because it’s easier to do the steps.
When listening to the book I went all the way through it. Then I waited and went through it again this time taking notes (IE doing the lessons). The third time I did the lessons and enjoyed the rewards. Try these same steps and see how it works in your life!
I started this book thinking it would be a review book and it ended up being a book of meditation and contemplation. I have a good imagination and I listen to my intuition. Yet, I found this wasn't completely true. I'm currently changing jobs. Yet, I find looking in my current field boring! Why? Read the book and you too will find it's not a review, it's a map to finding out what we really want. Even those of us who listen to our intuition can learn more.
Love this book. Read it in one sitting. Not new to meditation or using my intuition, I still found it a wonderful read and will use some of her exercises to give myself a super power boost. Recommend for anyone wanting to get in touch with their heart and soul and create their own life accordingly.
I enjoyed this book, even as a practicing Christian. She was clear and gave personal examples of how to implement. I'm working on listening more to my intuition since I was raised to ignore my feelings. Meditation is so important to practice on a regular basis and imagination is akin to having faith in what you see with your spiritual glasses. Will look up more of Sonia's books.
We all have superpowers and Sonia in this book helped us to activate at least three of them!
I read this book over the course of five days and already I am seeing results by putting what I learned to use. Don’t just read this book, live it daily.
I love this book, I have this on audio as well because Sonia does the meditations on the audio version, but i really wanted the paperback for note taking.
HIGHLIGHTS: 1. We often don't trust our intuition because we are afraid it might be wrong. We have been conditioned to look only at the facts as we perceive them in a moment and to ignore or discount deeper feelings that signal that things may not be as they seem. We go along with what appears to be true instead of what we feel is true and ignore our inner alert system.
2. Meditation frees us from the habit of allowing our thoughts to control us. Meditating is that it slows down your reactivity. Gives you the space to call me to reflect and fully examine your options and your situation. When we meditate regularly we become more and more aware of disturbances to our serenity and how to protect it.
3. Protect your serenity and your sense of personal power. Don't allow it to be hijacked by frightening news reports or other intrusions. Only the addictive mind thrives on chaos and overstimulation. You have the power to say no to drama and psychic disturbance.
4. Begin by consciously choosing more calming behaviors and setting upcoming boundaries in your life.
5. I caution you against being realistic. What it really means is I'm afraid of being disappointed. What most people call realistic is really a failure of imagination.
6. Imagination turns your world into one of the open doors a possibility it ignites your creativity as it delights your inner child. It helps you see beauty both inside and out. It makes life wonderful once again.
7. Intuition is the divine intelligence we all process that helps us to find our place and fill our purpose in the magnificent and holy universe that we live in. Intuition is far more often experienced in subtle ways that if noticed, can make a big difference in how you interact with the world. Intuition signals us most often and most strongly in the areas that matter most to us.
8. The most direct way is to simply ask your heart, outlet, what it feels like in any given situation. Then answer out loud. When answering, feel the vibration of your heart. Pay tension to how expensive, open, I Fendick, and true the response from your heart feels. Intuition, when express out loud resonates in every cell as true.
9. Be clear on what you need guidance on and say so out loud. The more you name it the more you clean it.
10. Your words have power, and using them to express your highest potential instead of your worst fears put your imagination to work for you. The reason words have such power is that they reveal what you imagine and believe.
This book was well written and easy to follow with a lot of spaces to do the work needed to grow in the three areas of meditation, manifestation and intuition. However, I did not get a ton out of the book beyond the meditation section. I guess I should be happy that I already implement the items presented in the other two sections with regularity, I had hoped for something a little....more...a different perspective or approach that seems to be missing in books as this, and had hoped that this would be that one book that would resonate in such a way as to find the one last little missing piece in the whole manifestation, intuition realm to shine a new light that takes me to the next level. At the very least though, I am making strives towards a daily meditative practice, that I have needed for a long time but am only now truly being consistent with, despite meditating off and on nearly my whole life. Her ideas for how to approach that are wonderful. It is certainly worth the read, but for me, I totally prefer her youtube videos, although this was the first book of hers I had read. I will look for more titles of hers however.
This very well-written, easy-to-understand book tells about the three tools that we all have which are indispensable to a wonderful life: meditation, imagination, and intuition. Ms. Choquette explains each of these in depth and gives easy-to-follow directions on how to use and make the most of each. Her suggestions are effective and sensible. She even gives examples of their effectiveness from her life and the lives of others. If the reader followed the advice in this book, she would surely notice a difference in her life. We have these three priceless tools that many of us do not use. Why not start? This is the book to help you get started. I highly recommend this for beginners.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.
Meditation controls my response to my conscious thoughts and give me freedom and peace of mind. Imagination develops my capacity to envision and create an enriched, fulfilling and abundant life. Intuition avails me the grace of an inner guidance system to lead me to true authenticity.
Meditation benefits are discovered slowly over time. Persevere.
Practice active imagination. Create. Invent. Live in a different place. Live in a different time. Having different talents and skills. A different career. A different family.
Sonia shares her gifts in a way that expands awareness. This book delved deep into using meditation ( with some easy valuable examples), using your imagination like a 4 year old, and trusting you inner voice. Lots of exercises to use what she teaches! I'd recommend it for anyone wanting to expand those 3 super powers.
I've been incorporating meditation into my personal development over the past couple of months, but always felt like I was trying too hard. Love the way she describes meditation and the easy exercises she provides. Makes you realize that meditation isn't supposed to be hard or perfect ❤️
An amazing insight into how if you apply 3 simple universal principles to your life you can make drastic changes both within and without. It explains your souls purpose, can ease stress, adds abundance in your life and make you feel you have a sense of purpose in your life.
This book is a wondeful reminder of the things which we should have a part of our life all the time. They really do make a difference and this book will help you to tap into them. This is a must read!!!!
