The first book started out great and set up everything nicely, then it just went to hell. This book was just a waste, I truly started to dislike the characters. King is probably one of the most selfish "heros" I have ever had the misfortune of reading about. Even for the few times he realizes it he doesn't change anything. Now for Elena, I guess I am just annoyed, not just with her but with the way everyone around her is viewing her situation. She had PERFECT reasoning for leaving King yet she would doubt herself and take on petty arguments. He LEFT her pregnant with a MURDERING psychopath who would most likely kill her because it wasn't really in his clubs best interest at that moment to save her. Yet everyone talks about her like she is in the wrong. Ugh! I just hated this book and hated King, how can you have a leading alpha, who is really nothing but a sorry, selfish, cowardly b*tch-a$$ excuse for a male?! How I ask you?!?!

I didn’t understand why they stayed apart all those years. Then it was like they just daid, ok, let’s get back together with nothing having changed from all those years prior. Frustrating and pointless. Not a feel good for sure.

DNF 48%. Nothing happens. Nothing except him constantly leaving her behind with abusive men. Nope. He says over and over his club comes first. loyalty to his club is all he cares about. Left her pregnant with his kid with a man who nearly beat her to death. Comes back for her then abandons her. I’m out. 1 star bc it’s an MC read with no OW drama.

Picking up right where Unrequited left off readers are thrust into the middle of King and Elena’s dangerous and life threatening love triangle. Max Henry fills the first chapters with a perfect amount of adrenaline and information that makes your heart beat fast and palms feel sweaty. Desperate for their well deserved happy ever after, Elena and King dream of the calm after the storm, but in true Motorcycle Club (MC) fashion, the storm is wild, brutal and relentless.

Told in dual points of view and over a seven-year period, we witness the love, loss and the scattered bits of happiness endured by Elena and King. With a myriad of storylines unraveling and secondary characters holding their own in the story line, Max Henry knows how to deliver an action packed story.

This story is real, raw and heartbreaking. Depicting the contrast between exhilaration and exhaustion perfectly, Elena and King’s journey is not just a tale about two people who are in love. Unbreakable extensively goes through the motions. It shows off the good and bad of both its main characters – exploring the depths of their choices and the complexities of all the consequences. With both Elena and King displaying strengths and weakness, this couple will take you on an emotional roller-coaster ride as they try to balance the good and the bad.

Unrequited was my first Max Henry book and Unbreakable was proof that I will be coming back for more. Showing off the heart and soul of the MC world, it is only a matter of time before I indulge in the intricate world of Max Henry and her characters.

What happened here!?!? The first book was amazing and then we get here with characters that are petty, indecisive and redundant. I just don’t understand. Worse there is no ending! Nothing is actually resolved. Why???

The conclusion of King's and Elena's story.
Although our two finally sort their private lives out, there is still the problem of Carlos....

This particular story doesn't get us far in the Carlos side of things, but Tormented is up next, and that should give us some answers.

"....I'm takin' Sawyer off the chain."

"I want proof"

really enjoying this series, but will definitely have to back track and read The Butcher Boys!

Unbreakable (Fallen Aces MC 1.5)
Max Henry
4.5 stars

The conclusion to King and Elena’s story.

This is the final book that will tell us exactly what went down and how King and Elena found their way back to each other. If you have read The Butcher Boys then you already know King and Elena are an item but we never got their back story or why things were the way they were between them. Now we have the entire sha-bang!

Unbreakable picks up right where we left King and Elena and things aren’t good. The war is on. The club is not in a good place and things are falling apart. The only thing King wants right now is to get Elena back. He should have never let her go or left her with Carlos. King is being pushed to the Edge and Apex isn’t helping. Something is very wrong there. Not only is the war with Carlos about to break wide open but the Blood Eagles are on the radar as well.

Elena, Maria and Sully are trying to find a way out. Elena so far has hidden her secret from Carlos but he eventually will find out. He has shown her his worst or so she thinks until her husband throws even more into the mix. Once out she cant bring herself to forgive King for leaving her and she doesn’t want to be imprisoned again. She wont be caged and she wont be locked away. The club will always come first so maybe she and King are not destined to be a family. Maybe all this time she was wrong.

King and Elenas journey is a very rough and rocky road. King has to learn to balance his life or lose his family. Elena needs to remember she is worth fighting for even though the men in her life don’t seem to show it.

There are so many things going on in this final installment of King and Elena that your head will spin. Once you think things are going to be okay they aren’t and then when you throw Sawyer into the mix … holy moly. This is a story of love fighting and scraping to get to where the hearts want to be; finding balance and believing. I never felt that King was this much of a heartfelt man in The Butcher Boys series so I love seeing him in this light. What a great journey and even more amazing end … there is more to come so hang on and ride it out!

Thank you Max for the ARC! Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

WOW! This was powerful and the moment you think things are going to go well something happens and it pulls the rug right out from underneath you. This is the conclusion to King and Elena’s story and we pick up right were we left off. Everything seems to be falling part, there is a war going on, the club isn’t in a really good place, and King only wants Elena. He knows he shouldn’t have let her go off with Carlos.

Elena knows that Carlos is worst kind of monster after all he has shown her his worst. At least she thinks that he has but Carlos is the kind of character that always seems to be more evil then you can imagine! Elena is trying to find a way out and once she does forgiving King for leaving her with Carlos is not going to come easy for her. After all she knows that his club will always come first and she has already done that. As I said this was one powerful read and I am so thrilled that I got the chance to read it.

Halle-freaking-lujah!!
I'm so glad I read these back to back, the end of part one left me reeling and I needed to jump right back into the story.

So we have King still trying to do the right thing and Elena wanting out of a situation she new dreamed would be her life.
King and Elena are hooking up whenever they get the chance even though it could get the both killed. King is hiding Elena from the club which is a huge no no and Elena is hiding something even bigger from Carlos.

Unbreakable takes us on a much deeper emotional journey as far as Elena is concerned, King I wasn't sure about. I still love the man but once the truth of Elena's full betrayal came to light and he couldn't get his shit together and man up I wasn't so sure about him.

In the end I got the story I needed, the closure I needed and the ending I hoped for.
That is after I got over Elena's infidelity.

Hate cheating but Max Henry made me feel sorry for and even sorta like the cheating hussy by the end of this one. Kudos!!

I loved book 1 so was really looking forward to finding out how King and Elena would resolve their problems.

This book was disappointing on so many levels. From a promising start where Elena is plucky and brave and has to fight to save her own life the book descends into threads of half stories. What happened to Sully and Maria? Did she really care to know? What was the back story of Carlos's son and why and how did they give him back? Why mention it if the explanation is going to be so sketchy. It felt as if I should have read a previous book in order to understand this one. Why were King's parents not more concerned about seeing their grandchild? And if you break it down, in reality King and Elena only really saw each other probably a dozen times in the years they knew each other. The whole book left me with a sense of dissatisfaction as both characters ended up being not very likeable.

Holy crap on a cracker... Elena and King the conclusion.. I so wanted to jump into the book in several parts and bang their heads together!! This book was exceptional it made me cry and it made me feel... The cruel vile things Elena had to endure at the hands of the sadistic Carlos was nothing short of heartbreaking and for her to make it out alive and still be the spitfire strong sassy lady she is was amazing!! King my heart broke for him several times as he did what he thought was right for his Club and Elena only to keep losing... Although King being the strong kick arse alpha male he is did not give up on what he wanted... A true fairytale but does it have a fairytale ending you'll have to read it to find out!!! Max Henry wow what an epic conclusion I'm holding on for the rest of the ride bring on Sawyer ❤️

Where Do I Begin With This Amazing Book. It Had It All And I Loved Every Word, Every Battle, Every Crossed Word And All The Pain Felt To Get To Where They Ended.

King Is Just Brilliant And He Put His All On The Line For What He Wanted And What He Needed. Elena And He Baby. There Is So Much To Say About This Book But I Just Can't As The Spoilers Would Be A Killer For People To Read And I Won't Do That. NO Spoilers Here.

All You Need To Know Is That This Book Is Better Than The Last And That Its An Epic Must Read. Max Henry Is Now Firmly On My Top Author List And I Would Never Hesitate To Read Any Of Her Books.

I only finished this book because I wanted to get to book three. It didn't need to exist. The first two books should've been heavily edited into one. I found myself not wanting to pick this up to read because it was just so...unpleasant. The writing was good and I wanted to move forward with the story but these two characters are just agonizing. So much back and forth with the same drama over and over and over and then it's all resolved in like 10 pages. (And honestly I still can't really get behind this H...he is a shitty partner and father and he didn't (supposedly) pull his head out of his ass for YEARS)

The positive is that king was celibate the six years apart. However, I disliked him not being with Elena and Dante. He chose to stay away. He chose to put the club first. Elena was far too naive to know what it meant by being intimate and having his baby would mean in his world. Did I agree with her wanting to protect Dante? Yes. I'm just wondering why she thought Carlos would never come for her. Plus what happened to the money Carlos was after.

More of the same. I think I skipped more pages than I actually read and still the main couple are barely together. 2 books and the longest non relationship I've ever heard of! I won't keep reading this series, I barely made it through the first 2 books. I was bored, lost interest and again, skipped more than I read.

Enjoyed it 😁

This review has been difficult to write for so many different reasons. Really a 3.5 Star review and let me express why. Verbage (yes, I know that’s not a real word but it’s mine) was very apparent that Max Henry was from either Australia or New Zealand but the story is located in the mid-central southern USA. Sometimes, it’s best to stay in your own country cause I’m like, we don’t say that $&!t here in Texas. Very distracting. Next, have read numerous MC romance books and this MC isn’t structured correctly cause it seems that King is taking on the role of Pres, Sec and Tres and not sharing all the things that are wrong with his brothers. Still a good story and now on to the next and hoping it gets better.

Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review...I fell in love with King & Elena's story in Unrequited and had been left on a killer cliffhanger!? Dove right in, dying to find out the rest of this incredible story. Elena is back in the hands of her psychotic husband Carlos, while left waiting for King to save her and their future. King is trying to make his way back to her while attempting to sort out Club business and gain that VP patch. He has to find a balance and otherwise he'll never be able to keep her... As in the first book, there is a ton going on in this series!? This book tore my heart out and kept me on the edge of my seat from page one... didn't want to put it down!? HIGHLY recommended book, series & author!!!

I liked this book and was glad to see Elena and King finally come together. There were many times where Elena frustrated the hell out of me with her stupid stubborn pride. King was also stubborn but Elena really rubbed me the wrong way. They wasted so much time because of basic stupidity (IMO). I am still wondering what happened to Maria and Sully? I'll have to read the "Butcher Boys" series to understand the connection there. Overall I was a bit disappointed with King - I had such high hopes for him, taking the Presidency and turning this chapter around. Maybe I just imagined too much in my own head about how this would all go.

Sometimes you have to do the hardest things for love, like leaving the woman you love behind. Being a part of the Fallen Aces MC, doing what’s right for the club & the brothers comes first. But when things go pear shaped King knows that his brothers will stop at nothing to bring down the monster who effects them all and bring his woman home.
Totally love this book, filled with heaps of action, twists and turns. Elena goes through hell to ensure that she finally has her King.

“I’ve got you.” I whisper, my hand buried in her messy hair.
“I’ve got you baby, and I ain’t ever givin’ you up again”

Decent!

This was a lot of words that danced around the main issues with King and Elena with no resolution. Oh! There's no sexy times either. Like literally none. The ending is sooo damned rushed and does not leave you wanting more. Max just tells us in the notes that the couple will be alright. Yeah, just like you're getting a 5 star review outta me. Not! Sorry I wasted my evening on this drivel.

I enjoyed the read but I have to be honest. I am truly disappointed in the characters here. The hero in general. I loved him and all that but then he had to go and ruin it. Why? Why make these choices? Those choices is what made me review this book only 3stars while the previous got 5.

I have been patiently waiting for this couples conclusion for what felt like ages and I was ecstatic when I opened my Kindle and found it. I couldn't put it down and devoured it within one sitting. However it seemed to take me a long time to write a review, I guess I just couldn't sum this book up. So here it goes....

Unbreakable is the second part to Max's Unrequited (Fallen Aces MC Book 1) and picks up right where book 1 ended. Both King and Elena are separated but not by choice. The Fallen Aces are quickly going down the tubes and King doesn't know what to do. To be loyal to the club is to let Elena slip away. But there must be a away to get her back without starting a war? Or is war worth it?

Elena is a prisoner in her own home, well at least in Carlos' home that is. However with the help of her husbands bodyguard and maid, she is able to escape and make it to her rendezvous point where King is waiting for her. But not everything is what it seems. She soon realizes that King didn't leave club life and is going to stash her away at his parents house until all of this blows over. However, Elena feels like he is putting her on the back burners and soon realizes that she can't seem to forgive him for letting her go in the first place. With nothing else to do, pregnant Elena sneaks off and leaves for a better life.

There is as 6 year gap in the story line, where both Elena and King make dramatic changes in their lives but when trouble comes back in the form of Elena's husband, are they safe? Can King get her back and make her his top priority? Or will Elena keep her distance and her child away from King?

Now on to my personal options of the characters:
Elena - Well there were times when I wanted to slap some sense into her. I found that at certain parts of the book she was snotty, judgemental and thought she was strong enough to not need any help. But as soon as those thoughts were in my head, she would do a 180 and become a loving and understanding person. I guess with all of her trauma and bad experiences, it can make one's emotions and thought process flip flop.

King - What can I say about him? The poor thing is divided throughout the whole book. Is he to be loyal to the club or Elena? Why can't she seem to understand that he can do both? At certain parts King shows his true Alpha Male self and I couldn't keep the smile off my face. He took everything Elena throw at him and kept loving her. Not many men would do that.

Please know that this book does feature The Butcher Boys and makes references to characters and events that happen in their stories. I would recommend reading the series in order to get a full picture.

Total 5 Star read Max, now just give me Sawyer's story and I will be set for life. Hopefully he is the one to be able to take down Carlos.

description

Unbreakable by Max Henry was a thrilling 5 star read.

We start right where Unrequited left off. I’m really lost for words on how to describe this great read, there’s just so much I want to say but don’t want to have spoilers.

Elena and King meet in Unrequited and their lives were turned upside down. They both had someone in common that would turn their lives into their worst nightmare. King is trying to save Elena from the madman she has been forced to marry. She is also hiding something from Carlos that could cause him to go over the edge. Will King save her before it’s too late?

We jump ahead a few years to Elena struggling with King’s commitment to the MC. And once again Carlos shows up and starts to threaten King and both his families, the MC and Elena.

Just when you think things are going great something else happens, wow. This is a great story about love and how hard you have to fight for it. These two so badly deserve a happy ending, will they get it? I really enjoyed the secondary characters, Maria and Sully are my favorites. Max Henry really pulls you in with her writing and you don’t want to put the book down. I am looking forward to the rest of the series to see what happens. Thank you for a great read. I highly recommend you 1-click and get started today. Note: There is some violence that may be triggers for some.

Thank you so very much Enticing Journey Book Promotions for sending me a copy of Unbreakable!! I'm very honored and grateful!! :)

5 Nail-Biting Stars!!

After finishing Unrequited i was anxious which would be putting it lightly to find out what happens next to Elena and King. This was such an awesome continuation and i was not disappointed in the least bit! It was heartbreaking to the point that it brought tears to my eyes sometimes from sadness and in others anger. Just like before nothing was easy for the two main characters and with new obstacles in the way i kept crossing my fingers that everything would turn out okay for both of their sakes. War was a common thing within this story whether it be in true form against an enemy or the one between two people who were fighting their feelings for each other. I didn't expect a lot of the things that happened which made an all in out emotional mess. Ms.Henry blew me away once again and i can't wait to pick up the next books in the series!!

King is back and better than ever!! His determination was more stronger in this book than the first one if that's even possible. He was loyal to his club to a fault and at times that warmed my heart and in others angered me. The growth he showed as a character from this book to the last one really impressed me. Some of the things that he did had me cheering and most of the words that came out of his mouth still left me a blushing mess. In my opinion he was more likable in this book than in the first one which is saying something because King rocks!!

Elena is back and more feistier than ever!! She was a bit of a force to be reckoned with in this installment and i liked the strength that she showed throughout the story. I was angry for her due to the things she had to deal with concerning a certain character that i extremely hated. She had no time for bull crap and i liked that she wanted things straight to the point. Her sweetness didn't diminish nor did her wrath for those who had wronged her. I thoroughly enjoyed her as a heroine and loved her point of view even more so in this installment.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a read that is thrilling and frustrating to no end! There are so many highs and lows for the characters throughout the duration of the story that will be sure to keep so many others entertained as much as i was. My mind is still thinking about these two characters and their story days after finishing which is sweet torture. If you haven't already started this series what are you waiting for? One-click today and get lost in this crazy MC world! You won't regret it! 5 Stars all around!! :)

DISCLAIMER TO MY FELLOW GOODREADER
This review is my personal opinion and may contain: spoilers, quotes, rants and swearing.

The story goes like this... Girl moved to America for better opportunities. She was faced with her dying father instead. Years pass. With no way to help her mother back in Cuba, the girl makes a deal with a man. Then she meets a boy. A rough rugged boy she is drawn to. Circumstances be damned they fall in love. Her father dies. The man comes for her. The girl goes because the boy has made no promises to keep her as his. The man turns into a monster and threatens the girl with the one person she holds dear. The girl ends up marrying the man. She just wants to boy to rescue her. The boy is stuck. He pledged his loyalty to others. The girl tells the boy she is pregnant. The boy still does nothing. Then something happens to the make the boy realize his mistake. He needs to save the girl and his unborn child.

Book #2 opens up immediately after the events that ended book #1.

Serious as fuck right now. King just plain sucks. Spoiler filled rant on its way. 3-2-1 Thought maybe the boy would man the fuck up. I was wrong. So very wrong. I thought things would get better eventually. That King would FINALLY realize he can have the club AND a family. I mean other brothers have families right? This is not unheard of in the world of the MC! So for him to completely fuck up and cause Elena to run with his unborn son was terrible. Then 6 years pass until King moves Elena and their son closer and still never kept his word to them. Not okay. Selfish boy. I ended up skimming chunks of this book. I was more mad that Elena started to doubt her choices and shouldered some of the blame for what happened. I think not. King caused everything and by the end of the book he still had not manned the fuck up. Ugh.

So this addition is me coming back hours later but it stuck with me all day. King actually tells his brothers who never knew about Elena and Dante that he helped them get set up and stay hidden. Fucking lies! More like Elena did not want to be stuck being second best only getting her man's time when he stepped away from the club being priority. She got a job and provided for her son and kept a roof of their head. Sacrificed her happiness. She knew then that King would never change and he never did even almost 8 years later. She just decided to put up with it. Okay. I am finished this time. The end.

Cliffhanger - no (book #2 of series)
POV - King & Elena

Six years and a promotion to club president later, I’ve finally had enough of her excuses. The lies have to stop. She IS worth the risk, I’ve NEVER gone a day without thinking about her or my son, and I know underneath it all she DOES still love me.

This time, she’ll come home for good … she just doesn’t know it yet.

Review:
“‘I miss you.’ Her breathing quickens as I duck my head and nuzzle her neck. Softest spot on the woman.”

5 unbreakable stars!! Another great book by Max!! I’m hooked to this series!

After reading the first book, I knew that I’d need more! And as soon as I saw book two on my kindle, everything in my world stopped!! The writing is spectacular, the details, the background, the characters!! I won’t give too much away with my review, but trust me when I say I’m in love with this book and this series!!! I seriously can’t get enough!!!
