ইমদাদুল হক মিলন-এর জন্ম ৮ সেপ্টেম্বর ১৯৫৫, ঢাকা জেলার বিক্রমপুরে। পৈতৃক গ্রাম— লৌহজং থানার ‘পয়শা’। ঢাকার গেন্ডারিয়া হাইস্কুল থেকে এস এস সি। জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কলেজ থেকে অনার্সসহ অর্থনীতিতে স্নাতক।প্রথম রচনা, ছোটদের গল্প ‘বন্ধু’, ১৯৭৩ সালে। প্রথম উপন্যাস যাবজ্জীবন। ধারাবাহিকভাবে প্রকাশিত হয় ১৯৭৬ সালে। প্রথম গ্রন্থ ভালবাসার গল্প (১৯৭৭) থেকেই তিনি বিপুলভাবে সংবর্ধিত, পাঠকপ্রিয়। ১৯৯২ সালে বাংলা একাডেমী পুরস্কার। এ ছাড়া পেয়েছেন বিশ্ব জ্যোতিষ সমিতি পুরস্কার(১৯৮৬), ইকো সাহিত্য পুরস্কার(১৯৮৭), হুমায়ূন কাদির সাহিত্য পুরস্কার(১৯৯২), নাট্যসভা পুরস্কার(১৯৯৩), পূরবী পদক(১৯৯৩), বিজয় পদক(১৯৯৪), মনু থিয়েটার পদক(১৯৯৫), যায় যায় দিন পত্রিকা পুরস্কার (১৯৯৫)। ২০১১ সালে ‘নূরজাহান’ উপন্যাসের জন্য পেয়েছেন আই আই পি এম সুরমা চৌধুরী স্মৃতি আন্তর্জাতিক সাহিত্য পুরস্কার।

The writer mostly writes books that can be called "products" rather than literature. But this one is an exception. With utmost honesty, he depicted the life of an asylum seeker in Germany, not in recent years, way back in 1980s. I will certainly give 5 stars or more if there was an option.
