There's a new play opening at the Caspar Crossing Theater, and Vanessa Abbot and Detective Pete Wheeler are in attendance as guests of the director. No one in the theater is prepared, however, when the director himself crashes through the set wall and falls down dead in front of everybody with a sword sticking out of his back. Pete and Vanessa unravel a tangled web of lies and deceit to discover a dramatic cast of suspects, all with motives to murder. Can Vanessa and her cats solve the murder before the killer gets away?
I love cats. In fact I adore them. I am a cozy mystery author and massage therapist. When I'm not writing my next cat cozy mystery, I am facilitating healing in others through my massage practice in beautiful Southern California. I find inspiration through animals and my natural surroundings, and I spend most of my days and nights enjoying the company of my two Tortoiseshell cats.
This was really good. I really enjoy this series. The cats are really amazing at helping to solve the mysteries, and that the cop is beginning to understand them too is really cool. Looking forward to more of this series!
I have really enjoyed reading each installment of this series. With Murder Under The Catwalk a night out soon has Vanessa and Pete solving another murder, of course the cats do their part as well. A quick easy read. The only reason I gave it a four star rating was because there were several editing issues.
The death of the playwright wasn't what the evening promised.
Terrific. Our cat detectives and their humans are back for another mystery. A night out at the theatre ends in the death of the playwright. Did he really write the play? Who, on the list of suspects, would go to the extreme of murder? Great characters and a nice plot that will have you doubting who is the killer. A nice easy read cozy that doesn't make you think to much.
Another enjoyable cat mystery! The more I read them the more I fall in love with these precious cats! They're extremely fascinating! Another great plot! Enjoyed it immensely!
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
Someone murders the director of a play, on opening night. Zachary Hall was the producer/director of End of the Knight, a play he allegedly stole from someone else. Vanessa and her cats help Detective Pete Wheeler solve the case. Okay story!
Did find a few errors in this one and names mixed up but I still enjoy the series. I read the entire series in a few days and love Vanessa and her furry family. I am really enjoying how they cats always come in to help her out in her time of need.
I don't know how authors can take such a wide variety of things and turn them into good books but I'm sure glad they can. As long as my favorites keep turning out good books I'll keep reading.
