NOTE: All books in this series are loosely connected stand-alones. Each book is a full-length novel with a conclusion (no cliffhangers at the end). Due to some adult language and situations, the books in this series are recommended for readers ages 18 and up.
From bad boys to rock stars, super soldiers to mafia bosses, Leslie Georgeson blends romance and suspense to create stories that are laced with danger, action, and plenty of steam.
An avid reader of all things romance, Leslie unabashedly carries her kindle with her everywhere. When she's not reading or writing, she can often be found in her greenhouse tending to her many plant babies. Leslie lives with her husband, daughter, two mischievous cats who think they’re people, and a flock of friendly chickens on a quiet country acreage in Idaho.

I love these books more and more. This book was a tiny bit different than the others and kept the suspense going a bit longer.
It's hard to deal with some of the things Karen has had to deal with alone, while she will tell you it's her own fault, but it has given her more of a backbone. And after being kidnapped by a motorcycle club, she is using that backbone to take up for those she sees less fortunate than herself, even under these circumstances. She has a lot to live for and she intends to do just that!
Stoner is a bastard at times and then again he seems protective and caring, unlike the others at the compound. But does that mean that she will be okay? I don't think so. He is a new Cobra and must prove his loyalty just like the rest but there is something about Karen that makes him feel protective and he is struggling with some of the things Viper wants him to do. After all, he just grows pot.
Viper is evil incarnate and what he says goes and total loyalty is the one thing that is the most important. Oh! And his poor dogs.
Rebel seems the sweet young man and while he is an actor Karen is trying to get to the core she just doesn't think she will ever get there. But a man that rescues a dog that will surely be put down cannot be all bad right?
Karen and Viper are at war with each other as far as will is concerned. She is going to do what he tells her to do, or so he thinks.
This is a great book with many twists and turns and tests of loyalty and love and forgiveness. Will Stoner be an unlikely hero or is Karen the heroine? Read and find out, you won't be disappointed!

Title: STONED Series: Unlikely Heroes, #4 Category /Genre: Contemporary Romance; Romantic Suspense Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content Grammar/editing: B – a few small errors Received from: Leslie Georgeson in exchange for an honest review ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` ` `
This is the fourth book in the Unlikely Heroes series. It does stand alone, but there is no doubt that there is another story that has happened featuring Karen’s daughter, April. I was dying to start reading it before I was even finished with this one.
One of my favorite things about this book is that the hero and heroine are older, single people carrying all of the baggage that is common with lives fully-lived. They weren’t portrayed as frail and somehow still innocent people in their late forties; instead, they are strong, intelligent, sexy, and lusty. Their scars and their pasts do define them and that is a wonderful thing! The story reminds me that your past may not define your future, but it most certainly colors your perception of the present.
I picked this book to read more or less on the eenie-meenie-miney-mo method. I’m truly glad that I did. When I finished reading, I did immediately go to Amazon and pick up the first book in the series (free). The bonus is that this is April’s story!
This story is definitely a step up from book 3 in the series, but while the characters are more developed and the plot better written, it still feels amateurish. Kind of like the grade school project has moved up to high school level writing. There are many misused words-intimated in place of intimidated- for example. Georgeson has some great ideas and knows how to grow a plot with lots of twists and turns, but the story needs an editor that will flesh it out and bring it to life in a professional manner. If not for an intimate relationship with the Forest Service, I would not have continued reading after the first chapter. Enough said.
This book is a story with a lot of depth. The story is about a person deep inside the life of a cult type "family group" where once in ; you can never leave. The female character witnesses a murder and is taken by force to the group. What happens only makes you what more.
