In this fast-paced conclusion to the Recoil serial trilogy, past and present collide as Julia and Colin desperately work to unravel the connections between the man who attacked Julia and the group that attacked her father. Will their allies put it together before someone else gets hurt? Can their fragile relationship withstand the turmoil? Who will be the next to lose their life?
Like you, I'm a reader. When I read a good story that has characters I can connect with, my everyday existence fades into the background as I enter a world that may contain exotic locations, adventure and excitement. And, if I can be totally honest with you, in my favorite stories I can fall in love for a while with an impossibly gorgeous guy who is the best lover imaginable. So, maybe it won't come as a surprise that in my books you'll find hot alpha male book-boyfriends, sassy heroines who are much more clever and beautiful than I am, and stories I hope will make you laugh and cry while reading them, as I did while writing them. Oh, and some scenes you may want to role-play with your lover.
This fast paced conclusion of Recoil Trilogy is somewhat a bit too rushed for me.Don't get me wrong. I love this story and I like the plot. As I mentioned in my past reviews of this trilogy, I love how the step-siblings plot was delivered and I mean it in a non usual way of stepsibling romance. Despite the rushed parts of this book, I was also rooting for the straightforwardness of the story...not so much drama and that's what made me like it more. Even the romantic scenes was not overly done as well as the sexual acts together with the twists and turns and other revelations but like I said it's simple but it's direct to the point. There might be an incorporation of Russian mobs that is and there starts what I call somewhat "craziness of the story".
I'll totally be honest here, at the start where all hell break loose and the "calm before the storm", I was on the edge while reading the book. I was bracing myself because the second part of the book made me cringe in pain as I did not expect the scene that was written by the author. In fact, even days after I read the book, I can still vividly imagine it. So,what I did was expect the unexpected but at the same time silently bracing myself as I keep on turning the pages. Thankfully, the scenes were not that morbid but a little bit crazy and confusing because of the quickness of the series of events.
I'm just glad though that despite it all, they finally found their HEA and now it's for real.
Overall, this story is good and I really enjoyed reading it. I am looking forward to more of this story especially those of the secondary characters.
This finale was pretty much what I wanted and more -- everything finally comes to a head: the romance, the suspense, the drama... It's all right here in book three. There are major character changes (some I rooted for), some people who aren't who you think they are, and some really sweet side stories (err... story) that have me hoping for another series off of this one.
Julia questions everything, can't believe some things are true; Colin wants nothing more than to move forward with previous plans. Watching these two figure out everything was well worth the wait from book one through to book three. Colin proves to be a strong, protective alpha male -- but Julia proves to be just as strong as her gutsy words have said time and time again.
Being book three, and therefore the quote-unquote "epilogue" of the serial, I should have expected to love it as much as I did. I'm extremely glad the "step-sibling" thing wasn't overplayed in this serial (even if it is mentioned slightly in this part -- but it worked in the context).
Now that the serial is completed, I'd love to go back and read it all, start to finish, just to re-watch the love story that is Julia and Colin. Watching Colin fight for Julia? It was done extremely well, Jessa Jacobs.

First, many thanks to the author, who provided a free copy of Recoil in exchange for an honest review.
This book is the action packed conclusion of the Recoil series. After the events of the previous book, Julia has left the securities firm she infiltrated, taking several employees and her stepfather’s account along with her. With help from her lover/stepbrother Colin, Julia sets up a firm of her own, and waits for the other players in this game to make their move.
It is a dangerous game that Julia and Colin have been playing, and it is not long before the Russian Mafia takes action. What follows is a fast paced, high tension situation that leaves the reader wondering if the characters will escape with both their lives and their sanity.
I’ve truly enjoyed this newest series from this author. Perhaps I’ve been getting burned out on books that are simply romance for romance’s sake - I find myself craving the action and danger of a good romantic suspense. This series delivers on all fronts. I enjoyed how the stepsibling angle was acknowledged, but ultimately dismissed - this is a story made up of adults, there is no doubt. This author is one to watch, and this reader is eagerly anticipating what she will do next.
This book was given to me free for my honest review by Jessa Jacobs. This is part 3 of Recoil , kind of taboo if getting involved with your step-fathers son has any indication. This is a suspenseful love story...it had me at chapter one, all the way to the end which is fast paced. I cried, laughed, was at the edge of my seat yelling at the book..."No don't go by yourself!" Loved all the characters easy to when the writer was just so simple in narrative, story line and emotional. I loved the banter Julia and Collin had not only them but some of Julias coworkers shared. I was feeling numb and excited when Audrey was killed like Julia, but I can see why Julia felt that way. ..I think Audrey was to late in showing her affection to her. Oh well she tried...lol I'd like to know what happens with Greg and Anya? Will there be another adventure for Greg and will Anya come out of her psychosis and have a happy ending? Thank you Jesse for a GREAT READ.
Received this complimentary Arc copy from the author. Now everything comes together . The brilliant plot of who is behind everything . All the damage Luke Franklin has done, not just to Julia, other women and most of all Anya. Poor Anya. So fragile. The Team will have to work together , and they do brilliantly to sort the Mafia, Luke and amid all this how will Colin and Julia's relationship cope. Colin does love Julia but not sure if she believes him. Apart from it being a bit rushed at the end, I thought I had missed a few pages, it worked out brilliantly. Loved it. Would love to hear about Greg and Anya maybe in the future
This was a great conclusion to Julia and Colin's story; suspense and fear played a big part for these characters as they try to bring down the enemy and keep themselves safe.
"She was the first woman I'd ever met who was not only beautiful, but had the brains and -for lack of a better word-balls to stand toe-to-toe with me."
"I put my soul into that kiss."
"I always get what I want."
Always an entertaining read from Jessa Jacobs, this book was gifted by the author for an honest review.
With Colin doing everything he can to help Julia and to keep her safe, they didn't think that anyone could get to her again. With Colin he never felt he could love someone until Julia but Julia thinks he's feelings aren't real. When Julia is taking hostage things go crazy. Colin will do anything to get her back but he might need reinforcement to finally bring the Russians down. I think it ended perfectly.

This is the last part in the serial and it does need to be read in order.
We finish up Colin and Julia's story and what a story it turns out to be. Things, lots of things, happen in this book. There is action, drama, and a HEA. Some will be happy moments, some will be sad, and some will be 'what the hell?' moments, but everything will be resolved.
ARC given in exchange for a honest review.. This is the conclusion of the 3 part set.. I really love Jessa’s writing.. and I have read everything she has put out.. she knows how to get you into the story.. Everything just seems to fall into place.. when it was needed.. This was such a sweet and beautiful love story.. I cannot wait to read more from her.
The plan Colin and Julia have put in place is getting dangerous even more so when Julia is kidnapped by the Russian mob. Colin has to work frantically to save her and you are lead down a path of wondering if they will make it out alive. The ending might seem a bit rushed with all the drama that unfolded but I don't want to give any spoilers so READ the series you won't be disappointed.
I received a free copy of this book for an honest review .This is the Final part in the series of Julia and Colin and it was full of strong emotions and trauma that keeps you on the edge . But with that came joy and a happy ending
