When Jackie Frost curses the Royal Winter Family, Crystal Winter, the daughter of the Snow Queen, sets off on a daring quest with her friends from Ever After High to rescue her parents and save the kingdom. But can Crystal find the courage she needs to become a hero?
Was interesting enough for the kids, but was odd to me that a non-disabled teenager didn't know how to tie her own shoes at first.. Unless their not actually that old? I am not very familiar with the series enough, but I thought it is highschool for fairytale characters kids..? Of course since it's an early reader-- maybe they want readers to be able to relate?
Jack frost's daughter (I guess) Jackie wants to take over the kingdom Crustal's parents rule as proper king & queen, and enlists the help of her brother. Jackie puts a curse on the king & queen, making them both suddenly become mean to Crystal. Though the main character gets help from school friends to travel around to collect a rose for each season & save the day!
Im this book Jackie is a bully besides mean, and teases Crystal for not being able to tie her shoes right after her friends teach her. Crystal's shoes come untied a lot during the story.
No really bad violence, but there is one cartoony scene where Jackie gets hit into a hockey net. No sexual content or anything like that of course, but definitely a fun adventure for elementary school aged or older kids to read-- or even younger to listen to you read to them.

I enjoyed Epic Winter, but I think too much happened for it to be shortened in a form like this. This book was really choppy and left out important parts. The writing left a lot of questions that were never answered in this book. Also some of the pictures were really blurry. I really enjoyed Epic Winter but this book wasn't nearly as good.
