I loved the first portion of the book before all the recipes were listed. Very informative about gut health and why many of us may have stomach and digestive issues.

I would love to follow her meal plans but a lot of the ingredients seem extremely unattainable to me. The stores that are near me do not have many of the ingredients needed to make most of her recipes so I found it quite overwhelming looking over all of them. I would also like to have high protein meals so these recipes I kind of shy away from.

HEAL YOUR GUT is a beautiful book to peruse -- high quality paper, nicely laid out and designed, beautiful photographs throughout, including for the recipes. Holmes does a wonderful job describing the GAPS diet, and gives a step-by-step four week plan that someone who is much more disciplined than me and also willing to not eat solid food for a month would easily be able to follow.

More so than any of the other books on the GAPS diet, this one makes it feel doable!

The book is an easy read with a lot of great information. I wasn’t sure about the recipes when I started, but most of them turned out good. Only complaint I have is that some of the ingredients were difficult to find. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their overall health and diet.

While I don’t think I have the self-discipline to follow the protocol, the recipes sound yummy and I can (and will) incorporate them into my own menu planning.

A bit too intense for my needs, but I'm sure an almost all liquid and mushy food diet would work for a lot of people.
