Settle in for a sleigh full of surprises!
All Jenna wants for Christmas is to snuggle up in her jammies and play computer games. She’s been doing her best to forget about Thad Benson and his gorgeous eyes and steamy kisses. Plus, her job as a Wayward Husband Wrangler has taken her to new extremes this year. Not a holiday nut, Jenna enjoys the opportunity to hole up and hide until after the New Year, but her mom and sister decide this is the year for a visit. For some reason Kennedy is concerned about the state of her underwear drawer, and the last thing on Jenna’s mind is hooking up with someone. However, the next thing she knows, Jenna is wrapped up in an eggnog-flavored kiss under some mistletoe.
Kayla grew up on an Idaho cattle ranch, but now calls the wheat fields of the Washington Palouse home with her husband, daughter, and two dogs. She writes romance, chick lit, and now romantic suspense. Her rural roots inspire her writing, and she enjoys giving the world a little taste of a life most folks have never experienced. A rabid reader, when Kayla isn’t writing, ushering dogs in and out of the house, or taking care of the humans in her family, you can find her in a comfy spot with a book or an e-reader in her hands.
Jenna’s continuing adventures are a little more fun with each installment. This third episode focuses more on Jenna’s life than on her business. I can sympathize with her hope to survive her family and the holidays and again be left alone with her flannel pajamas and computer games. And maybe that guy with the champagne.
These episodes are short, but so well written that the story is entertaining from the first sentence to the last, with no wasted words. Ms. Thomas has a knack for developing her characters well within the limits of each short installment. I like Jenna better with each story, and the regular characters surrounding her are nearly as fully developed. The two new characters in this episode are also well portrayed. And the story has just enough humor, also very well done.
I’m enjoying Jenna’s world and stories and looking forward to the next episode. Give this a look if you enjoy something to read just for the fun of it. Note: I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for a honest review. I try to review every book that I enjoy reading anyway, and I really like this series.
Oh boy, was this ever a great read!! Although not having read any of the Jenna Ray stories previous to this one - I have to say I REALLY enjoyed it and saw no issues of having read it as a stand-alone. I am very much looking forward to reading more of Jenna's adventures. I am happy to have picked up this great novella and have it as an addition to my collection of Christmas Kindle reads.
