Excellent romance
Very good new opus in this series. It is an excellent romance, with tormented characters but exciting, excellent dialogues between Ava and Mickaël, two beings drowned by their lives in the past or present and who give themselves a bubble of air spending a night together because the next day they will not see each other again. Yet, no one manages to forget the other and when they meet again avoiding each other or opening up to each other becomes just as complicated.

A great series that entertaining and captivating.
The author, Alexis Anne is writing a fantastic adult romance series called The Tease. This book, Burn, is book 4 and the interest level, for me, has not dropped one point.
This story’s two main characters are damaged by family and significant taking series advantage of them. Michael is a successful Photographer while Ava is a successful Architect. They meet at Michael’s brother wedding have a one night affair then go their separate ways as mutually agreed upon. Three months later they find themselves working on a project in Calhoun Beach. During that time they find out more about each other and even work through their neurotic tendencies. Great strides are made which results in a very nice HEA.
My take away is that despite how damaged both Ava and Michael were psychologically at the beginning, their time together helped them strengthen their Superego and consequently the Id and ego. I say that because their whole demeanor changes at the end with smiling, laughter, and planing for the future.
All I can is Booyah Alexis. Thank you for this story and your lovely letter to your readers at the end of the story. <3

I found an earlier part of this series (Tempt) intense when the 2 main characters meet, but in this book it is even more present.

Michael and Ava both have their experiences of trust being abused. They shut themselves off from the people around them and only enter into superficial relationships. Michael therefore feels very well what Ava needs and offers her that for 1 night. And then they meet again months later. Both are immediately attracted to each other again and continue where they left off. But if you are both so damaged, how can you continue and maintain a relationship? Will their triggers break them or make them stronger?

You can feel the intensity of their feelings coming through the pages of the book. Their story really caught me and the writing style allowed me to feel the emotions. Great book and highly recommended. Can be read as a stand alone but a better understanding if you have read previous books in this series

This captivating well written, well told romance between Ava and Michael was intense, heart breaking and full of depth.
Told in Ava’s POV only, it would have been nice to have Michael’s inner dialogue as well, but Ava’s was done well.
Lots of dark-ish mystery surrounding both their backgrounds as they both show residual damage from past relationships.
A one night stand that was more of a blending of souls ended as agreed upon. Three months later they are thrown together again and agree to a twelve day stand.
Their agonizing past was slowly revealed as the story continued.
Tons of super hot and super steamy scenes filled with graphic eroticism and sweet connection and chemistry.
Very well done.

This is book four in the Tease series. Meet Michael and Ava. Ava is a tough nut to crack, her past and her reviews on love are harsh. All her friends around her are falling un love and she knows a d is waiting for the other shoe to drop to destroy them all. Love can't simply work out and one be truly and completely happy, can it? Michael has his work cut out for him with Ava but he knows if he keeps chipping away, slowly and in small bits, he will get there and he will win Ava's heart. What a great story in patience and persistence. It will have you rooting for them both. As with all well written stories there are obstacles along the way that will challenge the characters individually and as a team, will these make or break this duo? Enjoy!

They burn but will they burn each other

Burn is the second book in The Sutherland Scandals series and this time it is about Michael Sutherland and Ava Hanson. In Tempt readers met Theo Sutherland and Allison Riley. Michael is the oldest of the Sutherland brothers but he did not want to follow the family into the business and instead became a very successful photographer. Ava is an architect and works with Allison, along with being friends. Both Ava and Michael have complicated relationships with their family but are both really wonderful people. They have a real attraction for each other but there are also complications that come along with it.
This is a really well written story that has a lot of depth and emotion to it.

This book is full of passion and pain for two people Michael Surherland a photographer and Ava and architect. He has a twisted family legacy that he wanted know part of and ran to the states to escape it. Ava wont speak to her family either love is painful and know one can see who she truly is not her friends and not any man ever again. But one night at a wedding and she finally let someone see her Michael but it was just one night until 3 months later now they have 12 days to see if its worth being open and loving someone again.

Facing their fears for a second chance!

Michael and Ava were both damaged by their past, hiding their true self behind a facade that people rarely saw. One night they connected on a sexual need that neither one could forget. While Ava fought to bury the emotional connection they experienced, Michael wanted to re-live it. When they meet again three months later, it is a second chance for them both. This was an intense emotional read with a happy ending. Sometimes we have to face our fears head on in an attempt to move forward. This is what happened to them and despite the pain of the past a new and happier future awaited them.

3.5 Stars - Michael and Ava's story was more of the same in this series but with more emotional turmoil. Their histories were heartbreaking and something that kept them from fulling giving in to someone outside of a night of passion. So it was not surprising that they gravitated toward each other and recognized their shared pain. I liked the progression of their relationship and how they finally found someone to open up to. It takes a lot to get to a good place after experiencing that kind of betrayal and harboring fear and pain like Michael and Ava did.

This is a story about 2 emotionally jacked people, both afraid to show who they really are to anyone. Michael is a little more evolved than Ava. He has learned that it's easier to just let go and let the world see who you are, but he still has his moments. Ava is still in the closet. The closet is safe. No one knows who she really is, no one knows enough about her feelings to stomp on them. Michael touches place that no one ever has and she doesn't want to let go of him as much as she wants him to stay far far away. This was a good story although it may have some triggers for some readers.

Another awesome story,very well written with storyline very interesting.
The characters you my fall in love with and definitely rooting for them.
Ava and Michael's story was a really touching. Both very secretive,unsecured and not very open to communication.
But was very hot sexual love story . A must read.

Complex - Alexis Anne's characters tend to be complex and complicated. Michael and Ava are no different. They've both been burned and have trust issues. They have intense sex but are both reluctant to take it any further. Circumstances put them together for longer than a night. The question is will they give in to each other? They are already more honest to each other than their friends but is it enough? It is a story that will keep you in its thrall. Burn is a steamy story about two intriguing characters Michael and Ava. Michael isn't into relationships only one night stands until he meets Ava. Ava thinks love is dangerous and wants nothing to do with it until she met Michael. These two had an intense connection and a chemistry that was on fire. What started out as just a one night stand turned into so much more. This is a well written story filled with steam, great characters and a great ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Steamy, and Intense!

This is the fourth book in The Tease Series, and the story of Michael, and Ava. Ava has sworn off love, she keeps people at a distance, always making sure never to let anyone close. When Micheal breaches through her defenses, Ava realizes she might really like him, but can she put aside her past, and open her heart? This was a great read, the characters are well written, and have steamy chemistry. This book was emotional, passionate, sexy, hot, dramatic, and intense.

Loved the book it was great, the story was well written and the characters are interesting. Once I started I could not put the book down from start to finish you just could not get enough left you wanting more twists and turns with emotions that makes you want more. Michael and Ava had instant chemistry between them is intense hot and steamy with emotions and urges are all over the place cold shower is needed.

Ava is back from Tempt in this 4th book of the Tease Series.

Ava has met her match though with Micheal. They both have serious trauma and damage from the their pasts but together they are learning to touch, live and love.

This author did a wonderful job telling their story it is full of hotness, and so much romance and love. This author is becoming one of my favs for true romance.

Burn by Alexis Anne. A good contemporary romance with a nice twist to usual plot; strong damaged characters with plenty of passion to share. This is a new author for me, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed reading this story. Good storyline, plenty of drama, and of course a HEA. Gah, I love characters that are complex and you really have to get to know them to know the real them. Michael and Ava are just that. But what they didn't count on, was that their walls would come down with each other. Ava tries to fight it but the chemistry and their connection is so intense that it's hard to. This is a good addition to the "Tease" series. It's full of hotness, steam and passion. The story is nicely developed. These stories just keep getting better. This is Michael and Ava's scorching story! Michael and Ave have got the sexual side of a spot on but the developing past just sex and into more of a relationship takes some work. It's a story that grabs hold and does not let go. Very entertaining read.

Michael Sutherland is Theo’s brother, he’s been burned before and isn’t interested in relationships. He has his fun with a woman and moves on. That’s all he wants now, until Ava comes into his life and makes him start to feel again. But, Ava has her own issues with men and isn’t so easily swayed. The push and pull between these two was hard to watch but it was worth it in the end.

Michael Sutherland is the oldest of the siblings and the most distant.
Ava has her own set of issues.
But Michael and Ava instantly connect the night that they meet, though it's only for one night. But fate has a way of uniting true love, and that's exactly what happens.

I enjoyed this book. It was intense and full of chemistry. I do believe that their meeting really making an impact on them. I enjoyed both Michael and Ava's characters. I think I would have liked it more with more backstory to why Michael and Ava are the way they are. There was a bit in, but I didn't think it warranted their current responses.
