This book is actually a compilation of 3 previously published novels. First, let me emphasize that I am a Christian and I do read Christian fiction. I've even read some other Kingsbury books. These, however, aren't my favorite. As I read, I did occasionally get caught up in the story lines, but at other times, I found myself skimming. After all, it was painfully obvious from the beginning what the outcome would be. I have two major issues with them as a Christian, however. One, the non-Christians in the book are portrayed as evil idiots. That isn't realistic at all. I know several non-Christians who are decent, hardworking, caring and giving people, not the monsters this book would have them be. The situation between Christians and non-Christians is much more complicated than the cut-and-dried manner Kingsbury gives us. Second, the message that faith will be rewarded in this life is also not realistic. The characters in the novels did suffer, but in the end, life was gloriously happy again. The message? Persevere and be faithful, and life will be grand for you too. It doesn't work that way. People die, lose jobs and homes, children disappoint, and sometimes in this life, there are no resolutions to these problems. That's the true mark of a Christian - to remain faithful through all of that, even when things don't work out. I fear that new believers might assume that they will eventually be rewarded in this life after reading this book, which is so far from the truth. The stories were ok, but the message is too simplified for the world most of us live in.

The journey through this trilogy was much shorter than I anticipated...because I could not put the book down! In this series, Karen Kingsbury's characters face real-life situations with very realistic emotions. While the characters in her books profess faith in Jesus Christ, they face crisis that threaten to flatten even the strongest believer. I appreciate that nothing is "sugar-coated". Their journey is difficult and their victories are glorious! I will miss these people. While fictional characters, they have encouraged me in a very real way.

I definitely recommend both the trilogy and many of her other works.

Wow!

I have a new favorite author.

I usually go for the historical novels so reading this Trilogy is my first experience with the writings of Karen Kingsbury and I am impressed. Her writing style is extremely polished and her characters and story lines are gripping portrayals of the life struggles that we all face at one time or another. They are packed full of spiritual content without being preachy or boring. No fluff here! I found this compelling volume to have life changing messages for the Christian and non Christian alike. The characters are like real life friends to me and this is one book I will keep in my library and read over again. Karen Kingsbury is definitely one of the best authors I have read in a long time.

Titles included in the trilogy are:

Waiting for Morning

The emotional story of a grieving widow and her struggle with hate and revenge after a drunk driver kills her husband and daughter in a car crash. The fact that she is a Christian does not make her struggles any easier—in fact she finds herself mad at God and questioning why he allowed this tragedy in her life. I found this story to be riveting and emotional. The characters were very well rounded and believable. This is sure to touch every heart and make us think about how actions have consequences. I found it very interesting that she used the book of Lamentations as a foundation for this novel.

A Moment of Weakness

Poor judgment and bad decisions are explored in this book about a Christian couple who put themselves in a compromising position and then must spend years paying the price for A Moment of Weakness. This book has a powerful message that will captivate and educate at the same time.

Halfway to Forever

This book revisits the characters from Waiting for Morning and A Moment of Weakness combining their lives into one very gripping and moving story. Halfway to Forever explores how we all must eventually fact the hard stuff in life, but God is always there with us. I cried a bit, but the message was worth it and very powerful.

I received this complimentary copy from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group through their Blogging for Books program. A positive review was not required and the opinions expressed here are my own.

In Waiting for Morning, Kingsbury explores the world of drunk driving and its devastating effects for everyone involved. She also shows that when hate and bitterness creep in, they corrode the soul like rust. Suicide is another topic touched in this novel. In A Moment of Weakness, Kingsbury expertly tackles the issue of sex outside of marriage and all the pain and suffering caused by stepping outside of God’s perfect plan for our lives. The last book, Halfway to Forever delves into life-threatening illnesses, abortion, and adoption. All three novels cover themes such as repentance and forgiveness. They show us, as the name of the trilogy so clearly states, God is Forever Faithful. This series is not a light read. It is for those who are willing to be challenged and confronted with truth. One doesn’t have to experience these specific issues for the books to apply. I was continually amazed at how many times I felt like the lessons or scriptures were written just for me.

The novels are infused with raw emotions and gritty reality that seize the reader. Relevant themes make the stories relatable. And while the author embarks upon controversial issues, Kingsbury handles them delicately from a faith and love-filled stance. Be prepared for tears. I had to pull out a Kleenex on more than one occasion. Many of the characters wiggled their way under my skin as I rooted for some and became utterly frustrated with others. Each book in this series forced me to stop, think, and analyze experiences in my own life. I recommend the Forever Faithful Trilogy to readers who are looking for happy endings without completely sacrificing realism.

Book 1 ~ Waiting for Morning:

Review:
As usual, Karen Kingsbury delves into complex and troubling problems that are encountered in this world and shows God's faithfulness through the tears, pain and joy.
Nobody can imagine how they would truly react if they were faced with a tragedy like that which happens to Hannah’s family. I hope I wouldn't completely turn my back on God, as the main character, Hannah does in this book, if faced with the same situation. I also hope I would not let my life be consumed with hate and vengeance. But how do I know what my reaction would be unless faced with the same or a similar circumstance? How would the child that “survives” handle the pressure of not only losing those she loves in a horrific accident, but “losing” her mother as well to anger and grief? Those subjects and others, are explored in depth in Waiting for Morning.
This story is painful to read and the depth of emotion makes this not only a good read, but a very emotional read as well.

Book 2 ~ A Moment of Weakness

Review:
A Moment of Weakness is a powerful story of sin, forgiveness and love. It is a wonderfully, well-written, Christian novel about two good friends Jade Conner and Tanner Eastman, who each thought that they would be together forever. But things change and Jade moves away one year. Later that summer, they find each other again. They spend the whole summer catching up on what they had missed out on and find that they fell in love with each other. Right before Tanner had to leave, they made a poor choice that changed each of their lives forever. When they finally see each other again, after a decade, Jade has a secret which she keeps from Tanner.
This story sends a message of two Christians, who make a mistake. When they meet again, they are grown adults. They choose this time to follow the Lord's plan, even though they were not sure what it was. Their faith was strong ending this story with a wonderful bang. I won’t spoil the ending for you, so you must read this book to see how their journey begins and ends.

Book 3 ~ Halfway to Forever

Review:
In this emotion-packed novel, Kingsbury takes the leading characters from two of her former books and weaves a beautiful saga of faith under trial.
Hannah and Matt Bronzan (from `Waiting For Morning') and Tanner and Jade Eastman (from `A Moment of Weakness') are good friends who attend the same church. Tanner and Matt are high-powered Christian lawyers who run a prestigious law firm specializing in religious freedom cases. Both men are happily married with successful careers and loving families. The two couples have struggled with their own issues from the past but now they are entering a new chapter of their lives.
Hannah has come to the place where she feels it is time to move on after the loss of her former husband and young daughter. She and Matt decide to adopt a little four-year-old girl, trusting the Lord for the adoption to go through without any hitches and to bring healing to their hearts.
Tanner and Jade, after almost giving up hope of having another child, discover they are to be parents. They trust God for a safe pregnancy and a healthy child. However both families soon find their faith under trial. Matt and Hannah encounter problems with the adoption and Jade develops an illness that threatens her life, and that of her baby.
This book deals with the subject of loss and the death of loved ones. I believe the author, Karen Kingsbury, brought her message across in a very real, in-depth way. This trilogy was a wonderful, emotion-packed read that is well-worth the time and emotional investment needed to really enjoy it to the fullest.

The first book in this trilogy, Waiting For Morning, rates a 5 of 5 on my rating list. Hannah Ryan loses her husband and oldest daughter to a drunk driver as they return from a fishing trip. The second daughter survives.

Hannah is consumed by hatred for the driver who shattered her life, so consumed that she neglects the one remaining daughter who shrinks into a cocoon of misery. Hannah loses faith in God, ignores her church and Christian friends to carry on a vendetta again the driver. She joins MADD, throws herself into speaking against drinking while driving, helps the prosecutor prepare the case. Meanwhile her surviving daughter falls farther and farther from stability.

Can her hatred be overcome? Will she ever be able to forgive? Will she realize the effect of her vendetta on her younger daughter? Kingsbury masterfully handles this story.

The second book in the trilogy, A Moments Weakness also rates a 5 of 5. Childhood friends, Jade and Tanner, reunite as adults in a deep and growing love. Then a moment of weakness tears them apart for ten years. They are reunited with Tanner acting as her lawyer in a bitter custody suit by her unfaithful husband. The crux of the suit involves his charge that Jade has been brainwashing their child with Chrisitan content.

The book deals with a lot of issues in quite a powerful way: bigotry, unfaithfulness, temptation, forgiveness and bitterness. All these themes are woven through the story.

The third book in the trilogy, I'm not finishing. Too much page after page of agony. Maybe realistic, but seemed overdrawn to me.

First, 3 Books in 1! How awesome to have the full stories of the same characters along with new ones as the stories continued.

In, "Waiting for Morning", a drunk driver changes a family's life forever. Hannah, wife and mother left with hate in her heart and blaming God until she meets the prosecutor that brings her back to trusting and having faith in Christ again.

In, "A Moment of Weakness", is the story of childhood friends, Jade and Tanner, that became more serious as they get older. Tanner's mother wants to keep them apart and it works for the moment anyways.

In, "Halfway to Forever", Jade and Tanner have been apart for now 10 years but Jade needs an attorney. Tanner's partner Matt answers the phone. Tanner and Jade go through so many ups and downs but with God they trust on Him to see them through.

I read this 1124 page book in about a week. The stories make you feel like you are one of the characters in the book. I just wanted to give Hannah a big hug along with Jade and Tanner. I cried, chuckled and smiled. Very Inspirational!

This is the first time I have read a book, in this case three books, by Karen Kingsbury and I quite enjoyed it. I look forward to reading Christian romance, especially Karen Kingsbury's in the near future. I enjoyed the relating to the characters and the amount of detail the author put into making well-rounded characters. The book struck me at times with powerful lessons that will further enrich my life. I will carry the stories of the Forever faithful series with me in my heart (as it is with all Christian books I come across).

However, the usage of "baby" and "mad" I felt was not correct and that more appropriate synonyms could have been used. The reason being my English teacher taught me to steer clear of Americanism. I was taught British English, so I am bit biased.

Overall, the three books were well written and I enjoyed every bit of it. I would highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys clean romance books without graphic details and for any Christian believer who is seeking enriching fiction.

This was the ever first series, in which I was introduced to Karn Kingsbury, and what a series it turned out to be! Firstly the characters and situations were very realistically done, being able to identify with how would I have felt if so and so were to have hapened to me? Secondly, and the reason why I love Karen Kingsbury’s novels, the subtle way in which without preaching, she reminds us (independently on what religion we believe in) god is always there, as if he was a parent, or a close friend. It was thanks to this series (even though I’ll always remain Catholic) that over time, I’ve made it a goal to enrich my spiritual life, with geting closer to god. thanks Mrs Kinsbury for such a life-enriching change! Looking forward to other future novels and series.

Loved it. Real life situations dealing with forgiveness, consequences of sin, compassion and understanding of those struggling with tragic situations. Do they trust God or take matters into their own hands? Does God still forgive when consequences of sin lead to despair? I was very much encouraged by these characters because I could relate to them and the questions they when life hits hard.

I loved this trilogy a ton.Hannah Ryan is in mourning when her husband and daughter are killed by a drunk driver. She becomes determined to make the driver pay for what he's done.

I throughly enjoyed this entire trilogy. I especially like the final book, when we have Hannah and Matt adopt a little girl named Grace.

I would recommend this for any Christian.

How do you exactly review three books in one volume? I'm not too sure, but thankfully they all would have been rated 4 or 5 stars, so I don't have to stretch out my review to awful to good.
The Forever Faithful trilogy follows Hannah, Matt, Jade, and Tanner as they encounter life struggles, but keep focused on remaining strong in their faith in God through it all. The first book, Waiting For Morning, is about Hannah and Matt. Hannah loses her husband, and oldest daughter in a drunk driving accident, and Matt becomes her lawyer to fight to prosecute the man who caused the accident. In the second book, A Moment of Weakness, Jade and Tanner fall into the temptation, which lands Jade pregnant. After being told lies about Tanner she runs away, and Tanner has to fight his way back to her. In the last book, Halfway to Forever, Hannah, Matt, Jade, and Tanner are all faced with some type of loss. Hannah adopts a child to find out she may have to part with her, and Jade discovers she is ill, and will be fighting for her life.
Overall all the stories were equally entertaining. A Moment of Weakness was probably the most compelling of the three. I found that Kingsbury took on atough topic to discuss in this book, which dealt with divorce, and premarital sex. I think that can be one of the most complex topics to take on since it is so complex, and not everyone has the same reactions to it. I like how the author provided constant twists, which kept you coming back to the book. I remember staying awake one night, and not wanting to put the book down so I could find out what was going to happen! I also really enjoyed how the characters remained faithful to their beliefs. They had so much working against them, but found a way to keep strong. All three books tackle very serious problems though.
There were a few things as always that seemed unrealistic to me. I think that comes with the territory of fiction though. Like in the first book, Waiting for Morning, all the characters seem to know someone who was affected by drunk driving. I believe this is a very real problem, but I don't think everyone in the world knows someone like that. Also, in the second book, A Moment of Weakness, the couple seems to go from no sex, to out of control sex. The lead characters are both virgins, and don't seem to have even did other sexual things prior to sex. Usually the process of sex is built up. You find yourself, doing A, and B, and then getting to C. I've had couples tell me they went a while without having sex, but they kept doing other sexual things that eventually just led to that crossing of the boundary. I'm not saying there aren't people like in the book, but I would have figured they would have been flirting with the lines when making out prior to that night then it just all of a sudden happening. Also, in the last book, Halfway to Forever, I'm sure that Ty is supposed to be at least 14 years old, but he acts much younger.
These books were entertaining, and the messages had a good intent. If you are into conservative driven books then you'll probably enjoy it.

I love it when I can read a trilogy from start to finish in one book. Of course, with books this big, I couldn’t do it in one session but I was still able to get through the whole book in 4 days. It was just that good that I had to keep reading!!

It starts with book one, Waiting for Morning, where Hannah Ryan loses some of her family members due to a drunk driving incident. She begins to be obsessed with seeking justice against the driver and it the process is losing everything around her, including her faith in God. Very emotional book; I cried right in the first 50 pages or so and I felt so angry and frustrated most of the way through the book. However, the author gives us some satisfaction as the book concludes!!

Then we dive right in to the second book, A Moment of Weakness. This about long lost friends Jade and Tanner that get reunited in their adult lives and seek to start a relationship but evil enters the situation and they struggle. Tanner ends up working for Matt, which was the lawyer for Hannah in book 1. I thought this book was the most frustrating, I could relate to the others better and this one just had me pulling my hair out. Again, another emotional rollercoaster of a book!

We conclude with the third book, Halfway to Forever, that brings book one and two together. However, if you are thinking by book three there will be a happily ever after, that is not the case. Tragedy strikes again and I cried more in this book than any other!!

All three of these books are emotional, deep and feel very realistic. I enjoy a book that’ll give me a good cry now and then but reading all three of these books in a row left me emotionally drained. I had to find a “fluffy” book to read after these just to bring back the joy!! Karen Kingsbury is a very talented writer and knows how to create characters that you can relate to and stories that pull on your heart strings!! I will be looking in to more books by Karen, but I don’t think I’ll ever read three of her books in a row again!

"Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed Thy hand hath provided; great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!"

Forever Faithful: The Complete Trilogy encompasses Waiting for Morning, A Moment of Weakness, and Halfway to Forever. The three stories follow the same group of characters. Hannah has lost her husband and oldest daughter to a drunk driver. Matt is an excellent attorney, but carries loss from his past. Jade is living with the sins of her parents upon her. Tanner is searching for his happily ever after. Each of them believes in God, but will their faith be strong enough to see them through loss, life-threatening illnesses, and the other trials life brings? Is God faithful?

When I finished reading, I admit, I felt that I did not completely care for it. As I read, I felt the losses of the characters more deeply than I felt their joys. I do not know if this is due to the writing style or my personal interpretation. In Waiting for Morning there was not enough detail as to the passage of time. I often wondered just how much time passed between events. It left a disjointed feeling. I felt the last book, Halfway to Forever was the strongest of the three. This was my first Kingsbury read, so perhaps my expectations were too high. I am keeping this on my shelf and will give it a try again. For now, I am giving 3 out of 5 stars.

Karen Kingsbury lives in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband and six children, three of whom were adopted from Haiti. She has written over 50 novels, 10 of which have been number one on national bestseller lists. Several of her books have been or are being made into movies. Somehow, she even finds time to travel around the country speaking to churches and women's groups.

Forever Faithful by Karen Kingsbury Is a fantastic Christian fiction trilogy that I was able to read through blogging for books.
As most of you know I do not like to give anything away when I do a review so I do not talk about that happens but rather my impressions of the stories.
Forever Faithful by Karen Kingsbury- Is a really great group of full sized novel's . These are very inspirational and would be especially uplifting for any Christian who is going through some difficult times or a crisis of faith due to those difficulty's.

In the first book Waiting for Morning. This story deals with having ones dreams destroyed and coming to terms with our anger and resentment. It shows us how to find the ability to forgive and rebuild our dreams through faith and trust in God who is able to turn our weakness into strength.

A Moment of weakness-This story illustrates the loving forgiveness of God. In this story we learn that sin and deception do have consequence's that can really disrupt our lives. It also teaches us that we are guided by a loving God who wants us to we learn from our mistakes not be destroyed by them. The message in this story is Gods strength is made perfect in weakness and nothing can separate us from the love of Christ.

Halfway to Forever -This story Is the continuing story of Matt and Hannah and Jade and Tanner as they face some of their greatest struggles and disappointment's and how Faith and the love of each other will see them through, keep them looking forward and to be strong in the Lord and the power of his love.

All of these stories are often sad and show the many struggles Christians face and how God can see you through them and because of them you will become a better Christian and be able to have the ability to love and be love through his mercy and grace.

The best part of this book is that it contains the entire trilogy. It's a huge book but complete which addresses my current reading irritation of trilogies. Thank you for that!

Kingsbury sticks with what she does best which is addressing difficult subjects and life circumstances and frames them within a Christian perspective. All three books deal with painful yet realistic challenges that the protagonists then choose their attitudes and where they will place their trust. Book 1 deals with Hannah and the circumstances out of her control that cost her the life of her husband and daughter. The lessons can be applied to anybody impacted by the choices of others - do we choose bitterness or forgiveness? Neither are easy paths although ultimately one will be more rewarding.

Book 2 is on a similar vein in that choices made by ourselves or another will impact our lives. It is about sin and forgiveness along with choice and accountability. It is about trusting the Lord and following His will even when we don't know the path. Wherever He leads us, He will be there. He has promised He will not leave us comfortless. He will come to us.

Book 3 is a revisitation of the previous characters. Because life continues on and they struggle with circumstances out of their control. It is again a message of love and trusting in the Lord. There are no quick fixes and everything is a process.

Kingsbury is a gifted writer and I respect her style and willingness to take on difficult subjects. Occasionally I found the story getting a little cheesy but overall the books are well written, target her audience, and send a positive message.

Waiting for Morning: After a tragic accident that takes the lives of a daughter and her husband can Hannah overcome the bitterness, anger and hatred that tries to destroy her?

Such a great book on how we can allow what we think is important to us to take away all that is REALLY important. Dealing with depression, teenage suicide, hate, and finally forgiveness!

A Moment of Weakness: Jade and Tanner had been childhood sweet hearts. When Jade had to move away as a child Tanner vowed that one day he would find and marry her. He did find Jade and after a summer romance Tanner left for a mission trip not knowing that he would be a father. When Jade turned to his mother having no one else to turn to she lied and drove Jade as far away as possible even into the arms of another man. Then God brought them back together to fight for Religious freedom and the son that Tanner never knew he had.

Halfway to Forever: God grows fragrant flowers of hope in the ashes of loss.

An undying love as faith abounds in the midst of tragedy and loss miracles happen!

I won this through First Reads!

I've read Kinsbury's works before, and always enjoyed them. This was no different. I would advise, however, downloading this on your e-reader instead of buying the physical book. It was heavy and the spine kept closing as I read--annoying!

The first book was powerful. The author does an excellent job of portraying someone who experienced a great loss. I identified with Hannah completely. I think it would be difficult for anyone to not become as single-minded in her goal as Hannah did.

Jade, in the second book, was a little more difficult for me to relate to. Perhaps I judged her decision to hide the existence of her son from his father too harshly, but it made me dislike Jade at times. LOVED the legal plot, and it definitely raised a lot of questions for me.

The third book in the trilogy became a little too sugary-emotional for me at times. Besides that, I liked the plot and loved revisiting the characters from the first two.

After getting hooked on Karen Kingsbury, I wanted to continue to read her other books and was greatly satisfied with this trilogy. While her novels are realistic fiction, I appreciate that faith is incorporated into all her books. Her characters do not always have an easy life and face very real problems. In this trilogy, Hannah's husband and oldest daughter are killed by a drunk driver. As she copes with the pain, she still has to be a mother to her younger daughter. As they go through the trial for the drivers conviction, the two must redefine their relationship. In the second book, Jade is facing a custody battle with her ex-husband. Meanwhile, she reconnects with an old time lover from high school and the two endure the journey together. In the third book, we see how Hannah and Jade's worlds collide and relate. Each story is unique and challenges you to think what would you do in this situation. Kingsbury's' books appeal to women as they are "chick" books.

I was chosen to receive this as a free first-read.

This is a huge book, with all three books in one! I was thrilled to have this book to read. This was the first Karen Kingsbury book I have ever had and I found her book to be very interesting, her characters to be well-rounded. I loved following the characters through three books...and didn't have to wait until I went out and found book 2 and 3 since they were all in one book. I loved the Christian outlook on life's tough issues, very inspiring.

I was very upset with this book till just the last few pages because the mother acted so badly!!!!! It reminds me of the warning we get in the Church to not make something a hobby even a really good thing when it takes all your time and attention to the determent of everything else especially your family. The mother made getting drunk driving penalties strengthened her one and only issue in life for over a year forgetting that she had a daughter who was upset over the loss of her dad and sister and needed her mom more than ever. I hope I never lose focus and my faith like Hannah did!

Really enjoyed all the stories, they grabbed your attention from page one and I didn't want to put the book down until I finished the story. She has such a way of tugging at your heart through her stories. Love her books and will continue to read more.
