Still enjoyed, but maybe not a favorite.

Holy moley, this book was fantastic.

Karen Kingsbury was a new-to-me author of 2018 that, after five amazing books, has became a potential favorite. This was the first book I'd read by her with a teenaged main character and a military theme, and I loved it for both reasons.

I adore books with characters (teens or adults) searching for one or both of their biological parents. Hannah's quest to find her father—preferably before Christmas—was so, so good.

Hannah was a sweet, bold, responsible teenaged girl, and Mike was just...awesome. Oh, and the chauffeur (who's name I can't remember...) was such a sweetheart!

Ahh, and the ending?! I may or may not have teared up... <3

Five of five red gloves for this darling holiday tale!

Karen Kingsbury's stories always grabs at my heart. This was the same for this novella. My heart broke for Hannah and Mike, who due to Hannah's mother's selfish behavior lost so many years together. There was some suspense/action included as well with Mike being a chopper pilot for the military.

This was the first book in the red glove series I have read. All books stand alone, so you don't have to read them in order.

I read this short story today about a 15 year old girl who was separated from her father as a small child when her mom left her dad and how her only wish for Christmas is to somehow find him. He’s a chopper pilot who has also been looking for his daughter for 11 years. What a touching story about the bonds of family and the love between a father and daughter.

Loved this hopeful, heart grabbing novella by Karen Kingsbury. I don't think she can write a bad book!

15-year-old Hannah Roberts remembers when her father was her closest friend. The image is hazy, though, pulled from her distant childhood memories, and her father is now very cold and distant. Feeling orphaned, Hannah lives a lonely life with her wealthy, ailing grandmother. As Christmas nears, Hannah learns a shocking truth: the man she believed was her father is not her parent after all. In an effort to find answers, she begins a desperate search for her real father, Air Force pilot Mike Conner. Local politicians and the city's newspaper catch wind of her quest, and the entire state joins in Hannah's hope that she'll find her father before the holidays.

I couldn't believe the cold, thoughtless, almost heartless actions of Hannah's mother! I gasped when I read where she decides to send Hannah the letter about her biological father to try to keep Hannah occupied because they wouldn't be there for Christmas. Come on! There had to have been a better time and place to share news like that. After the initial shock, Hannah takes it like the trooper she is and sets out to find her biological father. This story of how they reconnect is full of heart rending but also beautiful, touching, and hopeful moments.

This last in the Red Gloves series is as poignantly beautiful as the earlier ones. A short Christmas novella that tells the story of Hannah's search for her biological father delivers a powerful message of hope and belief.

Nice enough story of a lonely yet driven young girl who finds out a 15 yr. old that the man she called "dad" was not her biological father. It seems everyone has a life changing experience except the mom...business as usual for her!

Hannah Robert's life is changed, and she understands herself much better, after a secret is revealed. It is a Christmas miracle, and she discovers faith and prayer in the process. Our choices in life, even when we are young, often greatly affect those around us, and honesty is a big step in mending relationships in this story. I love Hannah's driver; what a great example of how a person's Christian walk can reach out and touch others. Our small comments can make more difference than we may realize in helping someone else through a difficult time. Evangelism by example! Teenagers will definitely relate to Hannah's loneliness and ultra-busy life, and adults will reflect on the choices her parents have made about what is important.

I've read most of Karen Kingsbury's novels and loved them but Hannah's Hope wasn't my favorite. It wasn't bad, just not great. I listened to the audio version so maybe that had something to do with my less than enthusiastic response. A positive in the story was the representation of our military, which I'm a huge fan of. I don't take our freedom for granted and know it's not free.

The book brings out a topic that could apply to anyone, a child living with a relative because a mother remarried and is to busy to care. The authors agenda is to make enfasis in the power of prayer. Good flow in the plot makes it easy reading.

Hannah is 15 and has everything she wants. His father and mother work in politics, but the whole year they're away from home and only visit Hannah twice a year: Christmas and summer. During this time, Hannah has lived with her grandmother, who seems to not sympathize much with her. For this Christmas, Hannah's mother announces that she will not go to see her and also gives a shocking news: she says that her real father is not the man with whom she grew up.

And Hannah begins to search for her real father, a pilot for the Air Force, who has been an gone in a suicidal mission in Iraq.

I like books that are at special occasions, and of course, Christmas is my favorite time of year; so when I find a novel that is set in this special date, I do not hesitate to take a look.

I know Karen Kingsbury is a renowned author and her books have been best-sellers, but I had never read her books before and honestly I'm glad that this is my first book by her because I really liked it.

This novel is very sweet and dramatic. It tells a story full of deep love and hope; and shows us that miracles happen around us and perhaps we do not realize, also focuses on the importance of believing in what we pray because our prayers are nothing if we do not believe in what we are saying .

Something I really loved about this story, was to realize that sometimes our actions mean something to us, but others may take it differently. Sometimes the characters are driven by their own prejudices and fail to discover the truth for miscommunication.

For me, reading this story was like being on a journey full of surprises, drama and a great ending. I'm quite sure that I'll look for more Karen Kingsbury's books in the future.

I recieved a free eBook from NetGalley but this fact didn't influence the review

This is a Christmas story. A fast read that is a nice mushy feel good story. Kingsbury is a Christian writer so there is a faith/prayer aspect.

This last book of the Red Gloves series tells a complete story. It doesn't depend on earlier books and could stand alone or be read in any order. Each book in the series includes the red gloves which serve to initiate or strengthen the faith of the main character in the book.

The story is a quick read and short for a novel. Kleenex will be required as the ending draws near.

Circumstances are highly contrived in order to bring about a specific ending and enhance the suspense of that ending. Some of those circumstances don't make sense and some are just highly unlikely. I have mixed feelings about this in fictional books where God is producing a miracle. The stories may make the reader feel good, but they aren't real, and I'd rather read about true life miracles, not contrived ones. I thought this book in the series stretched those contrivances the most in the series and therefore I liked this book the least. The third one also stretched more than I would have liked, but not as bad as this one.

Along the same lines

The is a Christian book. However, there isn't any preaching by speeches or monologues, but through the circumstances of the story. The theme of the story is believing in a Christmas miracle.

Mature themes: there is absolutely no sex or offensive language. There is war violence in multiple forms.

I so need to stop reading these books about these girls searching for their birthfathers.....As the same thing happened to me, just when I think I'm in a "safe place" I read another book and there I am going thru it all over again....My heart just can't take anymore....But that aside, I suppose it takes a really good writer to bring that out, the author was so good with some of Hannah's emotions and words at times my jaw just dropped (while I was crying) as I had said those exact same words when I was searching for my father.

All I can say is I loved this book and I was so happy to see the ending......it took me to a place I will never be able to go to, but I was able to imagine what it would have been like to get a happy ending....I actually did get a happy ending, not a full one but one that completed my circle, I found a beautiful new sister and for that I will forever be thankful, I can just imagine what my father would have been like when I look at her and talk to her, and she has been a huge help in healing my heart.

I would like to thank the authors who are "going there" with stories such as these, as this type of thing is happening more and more now due to DNA testing. Many will never understand the emotional hell we go thru when finding out our dads are not our biological fathers, the loss of identity we feel, the feeling that half of our lives have been stolen from us, but I believe it really does make us feel more connected, a sense of belonging when we can pick up a book and see that we are not alone.

Wow. I picked up this book and did not put it down until I stopped reading it. Karen Kingsbury writes in such a captivating way that takes hold of you. Her story telling ability is simply amazing - I felt every emotion and was sobbing the last 50 pages. So buckle up and have a tissue box ready.

Hannah is a 15 year old girl whose parents are prestigious in the political realm, but not present in her life. They drop an e-mail bomb on her letting her know they won’t be coming home for Christmas. So naturally her mother decides to write her a letter to make her feel better… that says she has a real biological dad out there somewhere. His name is Mike Connor and was a charming Cali surfer turned into an army helicopter pilot. But all this information, may just have come a little too late.

This is my first time reading her and her “Red Glove Series” but what a wonderful idea. She writes a book highlighting a certain cause and then uses it for people to take action to help that holiday season. This one was aimed at helping our armed forces. Such a brilliant idea.

Hannah’s Hope was a powerful story about a young girl who is being raised by absentee parent career politicians. As the story progresses we learn that her “father”is not her biological father. Her mother had left him when Hannah was only four. Hannah has always dreamt of him but did not understand her dreams.
The hope for Hannah is that she hopes to spend Christmas w her parents. But this hope changes as she learns of her true father. The message of belief in miracles is a strong one throughout this story. But to believe in miracles, one has to believe in the One who provides miracles. Hannah comes to understand this and God gives her the miracle that she hoped for, in a bigger way than she even thought was possible.
Great story. Very intense about war and being taken captive for juvenile readers or those with family in the military. I would recommend it more for young adults and older.

All Hannah wants for Christmas is her parents to come home, but they get caught up with their work and aren’t going to be able to make it home for the holidays. When Hannah’s mother decides to finally tell her that Jack, her mother’s husband, is not her biological father, Hannah begins to search for her real Dad. All she knows is his name and the year he enlisted in the army. After she puts a message on a national country music television channel, Mike Conner, Hannah’s biological father sees it and calls back just before he has to go on a very dangerous mission for the army. Does Hannah ever get to reunite with her biological father? This is a heartwarming story of Hannah’s hope and believing in Christmas miracles. This would be a great book for high school students to read. Teachers could use this book to teach students to believe and have hope when they are searching for a miracle.

Another moving story about how long-felt faith or newly-found hope can change the trajectory of both a personal and family challenging trial. I really liked Hannah, her incredible drive and resolve, and her innate desire to seek true family relationships. I also appreciated Mark Connor, who was dealt a completely unfair hand, but continued to cling to hope. Hannah's mother and grandmother were both quite disappointing, but I think if the story had been longer, both characters could have been better and more fully developped. I think Kingsbury's inspired idea to include suggestions of service projects for specific groups of deserving people, found at the conclusion of the book, is such a valuable addition. This book's focus is on those serving in the military and their families, and projects range from simple to much more grand-scale, depending on time and resources.

Hannah has spent most of her adolescence on her own with a cold reserved grandmother, as her parents live for their political careers. When Hannah leaves her mother knowing in no uncertain terms her displeasure of being alone on Christmas, her mother finally tells her the truth about her father.
Trying desperately to find him, Hannah discovers the power of prayer and hope in the miracle of Christmas. Karen Kinsbury does it again with this fourth Christmas novella.

Beautiful characters and story-lines in these Red Glove Novels, all of these stories are a great way to get into the Christmas spirit and leave you with the joy of the power of the gift of a pair of Christmas gloves.

I thought this was #2 in the Red Gloves series. It really doesn't matter what order they are read in, but reading the first on gives you the idea about the red gloves "magic".

Hannah is 15 years old, her parents are working in Sweden and have just let her know they won't be home of Christmas. She lives with a very formal Grandmother who doesn't give her the love she really needs so she is very lonely. She wants a Christmas miracle, but what does she ask for and how does it come together?

Another easy read, just a few hours, but the books give you hope!

I read Hannah’s Hope by Karen Kingbury for the #HBTB2019reads (“hope” in the title.) It was a short and meaningful ⭐️⭐️⭐️ star story. Hannah lives with her Grandmother and goes to a private school where she is considered a smart and driven student. Her father is the Ambassador to Sweden and her mother lives with him. Hannah is disappointed when her parents tell her they are not coming home for Christmas, she begins to wish for a Christmas Miracle. But she is in for a huge family secret for Christmas instead.

I borrowed an audiobook copy of this book from the local library and thoroughly enjoyed the book. 15 year old Hannah wants her mom and dad home for Christmas. She lives with her grandmother while her political parents are in Sweden and unable to come home for Christmas. Her mother tells her she has a different biological father and Hannah begins to look for him involving the media. Mike Connor, an Air Force helicopter pilot in Iraq, sees her plea just before an important mission. A Christmas miracle involves rescue and healing old emotional wounds.

Hannah, 15-years-old, finds out she has a biological dad.

It's Christmas time, and Hannah wants a special miracle. She wants to find her biological father.

As a foster/adoptive parent, I know a little of the desire of children to find their biological parents. It's set deep within the child.

Like many of Karen's books, I shed tears. This is an emotional read that left me with warm feelings. I really enjoyed this book.

Not as good as the first of the series . Hannah is a sweetie as is her real father and it had a good ending but the other people in the book. Her mother step father and Grandmother are incredibly selfish people. and it doesnt explain how the chauffer of the awful name of buddy bingo got the red gloves
