The ninth book from this classic series is ready to grab the attention of a new generation! Fresh cover art brings an updated look to this timeless favorite.
Uncle Nick has had many adventures. He used to be a General in the Mice Brigade in Trash City! One day, he tells Tom and Lucy Little a story of two children who lost their parents and came to live in Trash City. The children grew up and were happy, but they were sure their parents were out in the world somewhere. The only question they had was, how would they get out of Trash City to find them? Uncle Nick knows how this amazing story ends, and soon you will, too!
I read this book aloud to my little sister. She enjoyed it, although not quite as much as the other book in the series we read a few months ago. A fun story, overall; very imaginative!
This was a cute addition to a cute series. The suspense and dramatic irony were great. I especially liked that it showed the power of imagination and dreams. I highly recommend this book to its intended audience and anyone looking for a good, quick read.
This book was too simple, too old fashioned and lacked any real moral or message. I remember liking them when I was really little, but it doesn’t hold up at all.
My favorite part was when the lost children returned safely to smoke mountain. The worst part was when the parents couldn't find their kids. My favorite character was Musmus because he was one of the only few good mice. The worst characters were the bad mice and the cat that tried to eat the littles.
This book was about the small-frys going on a trip to the trash city to meet and trade with the trash tinies. When the grown-ups were looking for the entrance to trash city, mice and a cat were coming close to the tent winkie and tip were in. Sable tried to protect them then the mouse force army came and thought all of the animals were attacking the children. They took the children to trash city, while the cat, bird and mice were sent away. Their parents saw that they were gone but looked for the entrance to the trash city. They could not find it so they left. Inside trash city winkie and tip went to a homeless children home because they thought their parents were eaten by one of the animals. They lived there for seven years and turned nine. Then they went to the littles house to visit one of the people in the mouse force. Then winkie started having strange dreams. Together winkie and tip figured out that they used to live on the top of smoke mountain and fly ond the back of the bird. Auryn 10 years old. 2014

I guess I didn't read this installment of the adventures of the Littles when I was a kid because it wasn't published until 1991. I didn't have many ties to children's literature at that time in my life.
I had forgotten that the Littles have tails! I wonder why the author decided that they needed tails...
The beginning of this book is especially exciting. I was gasping aloud. (Really!) By the end of the book, however, the plot had become predictable and I had a good idea how things were going to end up.
The writing is inconsistent and in some places rather trite. Dialogue is particularly awkward in some spots.
I'm giving it three stars, partially for old times sake (I was soooo into the Littles when I was little) and partially because the first few chapters really did have me on the edge of my seat. Oh, and the whole lucid dreaming subplot was pretty cool.
I recommend this book to folks already enthralled by the Littles and their itsy bitsy friends.
I never saw this one before, and for a moment I didn't think I'd like a story that was kind of about the Littles, but really not about them at all.
Even though it took me a little bit to get into this book, I was glad I did. In this book we meet Winkie and Tip, orphans who live with the Trash Tinies. I loved learning about their past, and their amazing adventure as they tried to find out who they really are.
I picked this up at the Little Free Lending Library. It is the first Littles book that I have read.
I really liked the premise of the series. It is fantastical and fascinating. This was a well-written book. Simple, yet interesting. While the characters were not very well developed, the plot of the story was very cool. I finished it in a day, because I really wanted to find out what happened next.
There was a flatness to this book that made it cumbersome to read. With too many characters and not enough character development, this story was predictable and uninviting. As a piece for young readers, perhaps this book had merit, but overall it was not one I would recommend.
I used to love the whole series when I was younger. I remember reading the series to my great aunt at night before she passed away. I highly recommend this series to anyone. Child, pre-teen, teen, or adults would like it. It's a book that no matter your age you would enjoy it. Happy reading!
I liked the literary style of this book, the new characters, and the use of an epilogue and a prologue. I would love to see more of Winkie and Tip in future books!
