I really love Stephen Davey's Wisdom Commentary Series. He adds so much clarity and brings the Bible to the reader in such a way as to make it current and immediate.
The story of Ruth is such a touching love story of a man and a woman who had no reason to be together other than God's great plan. They became the Great-grandparents of future King David, and of course, Jesus was born in earthly form from that same line!
The author points out that the most beautiful and important love story in this book is that of our Kinsman Redeemer, Christ, and his love for his bride, the church. That is, for you and I! A wonderful story!
