“Jules’ parents thanked me for saving their daughter that night. Little do they know, their daughter is saving me with every word, every touch, every moment. Sometimes the things you thought you knew are completely wrong. For so long I thought I didn’t want anything to do with the West I was, then Friday night happened and now all I want is what I once had.”

For high school senior West Rutledge, surviving the storm is only the beginning. Four years ago, he closed himself off from his friends and his dreams, but in one night one girl makes him reconsider everything.

People say West saved Jules Blacklin’s life the night of the storm. West says Jules saved his.

This is his side of their story.

**WEST may be read as a stand alone novel. You do not have to read From The Wreckage first to enjoy his story.**

West A From The Wreckage Novel by Michele G. Miller is from the male viewpoint of the same book, and it's even better! If you like YA, you are gonna love this book! I absolutely love this author, and I've only read these two books lol.

From the moment the sirens sounded, I’d felt the need to protect this girl, to keep her calm.

I bought WEST the day it released. To say that I was excited to read a book all in West's POV is an understatement. I have loved this boy from the moment I was first introduced to him back in June of 2014. Almost 2 full years later and I am still hung up on him; still hung up on this series.

But I made the mistake of starting this book the day before we left on vacation. I thought I would have it read by the time we got down to the beach. It was after all supposed to be an 8 and a half hour trip. (More like 10hrs). However, I didn't take in consideration all the time I would have to devote to keeping my 1yr old entertained. Every 5 mins. The entire trip. No problem, I'll just read at night once she crashes. Nope. Not then either. Because once she crashed, so did I. So, long story short I finished it the day after we got home. A full day devoted to West. And I loved every second I got to spend with him.

Miller outdid herself with this one. WEST was an amazing, beautiful, heart clinching, mess you up kind of story. I forgot all about the fear it induced from the start as they tried to survive the tornado that not only took half their town, but so many friends as well. But I was soon reminded. Miller not only made me feel the emotions of that night in the first book, but came back in this one and had me relive it once again. Complete brilliance on her part at being able to do it all over again and make it fresh and real.

If you read the first one, I absolutely recommend this one. If you haven't read the first one, I suggest you do so before WEST. It just makes sense. And I think you will understand why once you have read both. But it can be read as a standalone. 5 Magnificent Stars!

This was a heartbreaking one for me but I loved every second of it!!!

It is always nice to read stories from different perspective specially from MML point of view coz that is a different feel - and West's pov was no less than beautiful, and boy did I swooned over him? Yes, I did coz I realized he is not just a playboy everyone paints him to be but he is more of a broken human who just needed an anchor and that's where our sweet Jules come.....these two have my whole heart and I just love how painfully beautiful is their story!!!!

This was a great companion novel to the From the Wreckage series. I loved getting into West’s head to understand what he was thinking. I wish the author would write book two in West’s POV. After I finished West I wanted more! I know that some reviewers have said this can be read as a stand alone, but I wouldn’t recommend it. This one fills in some blanks from book one and I think any reader should read book one first and then this one. The story itself is a solid 5 stars! The editing could use a little work, though. But, seriously, give West and From the Wreckage a try! I bet you’ll love it!

Perspective

Love the difference in perspective. I love reading from different points of view so it was nice to read from West Point Of view to get into his head.

While it was nice reading West’s point of view, most of the book was the retelling of the first book which after a while became repetitive and I was just skimming through to get to the end. I was glad it explained all their conversations while they were trapped but I didn’t feel it added a lot to what we had already read on book 1.

Ok so I’m definitely not a “ young adult” reader but I love this series! Great well developed characters, I find myself rooting for this young couple to make it!

"From the Wreckage" burned itself into my soul, and "West" brought those feelings right back. I was transported right back to the Shack, to the field, to the rubble beneath Greir House as I relieved the storm and the wreckage yet again, but this time all the puzzle pieces were there. All the little holes filled in. All the questions were answered. Everything makes sense. So many point of view books just don't get it. This one is so good and so right. Maybe it's because I've read the whole "Wreckage" series and also the "Out of the Fire" book that I feel like I know West so well to know that Miller got his POV so precise here. I am definitely not considered a "young adult," but I love this series, and I love Michele G. Miller's work. I don't read it; I feel it.

For those of you looking for your own Wests, don't give up. I met my now husband during a tornado warning. I was terrified; he was outside taking pictures. Once the winds really picked up he came to the basement with the other tenants and I introduced myself. The rest is history!

This was such a great YA read! I loved it! West, is the first book in From the Wreckage series in his pov. It can also be read as a stand alone. I dont usually read the males pov till last so I did it a bit different this time and felt no confusion what so ever. This is a gripping story about loss, guilt, love and overcoming the things that hold us back in life. West and Jules have known each other for a long time but after West lost his mom to cancer, he isolated himself from almost everyone he used to be friends with. When he and Jules end up in the same place at the same time and a tornado almost kills them, it changes everything between the two estranged friends. West, starts questioning all the things he cared about but gave up after his mom died, including the way he felt about Jules. He finds his feelings for her are strong and undeniable but a couple things stand in his way of telling her, the feeling hes not worthy and her boyfriend.

This was such a great YA read. I loved it. West, is the first book in From the Wreckage series I read and I just fall in love with West and the way he is with Jules, Where do I find a guy like West?

It's amazing to see the tornado from his point of view (I read the first book in the From the Wreckage series after this one). WEST was an amazing, beautiful, heart clinching, mess you up kind of story.

I absolutely love this author and I already bought the three others in this series.

I loved the From The Wreckage trilogy and when I saw there was a book from West's POV, I HAD TO HAVE IT! I always wondered what happened in the basement that night while Jules was going in and out of consciousness. I just loved getting his side of the story in general and seeing what he was going through as well as Jules. It was a great companion novel to the first book. I think I would read anything that went with this series!

If you have read From the Wreckage you need to read this book. To get in the head of West Rutledge was more than a delight. If you haven't read From the Wreckage, then you definitely need to read this book and meet your next book boyfriend. But I'm warning you, he may ruin you for all other book boyfriends. That's how amazing this guy is and how amazing Michele G. Miller crafted this story. Seriously a great read that will give you all the feels.

Wow. Just wow. Michele is the most incredible author (and person) but she's topped herself with this book! West is His POV of From the Wreckage and boy did I fall more in love with him! It's amazing to be able to see the tornado from his point of view and find out Jules' forgotten memories. West along with all of the From the Wreckage series (and Into the Fire) is a 5* read

I enjoyed this story which, despite bordering on preachy at times regarding the importance of family, was full of angst and romance. The use of a natural disaster and its after effects brought substance to the story and grounded the characters.

Loved this POV! First i just want to know where I can find me a West?? Second, not that we needed him to be any greater than he was in the rest of the series but what better way to make us swoon for him some more.

West is the star of this series. Jules Blacklin is about as cliche as head cheerleader dating the quarterback (ahem) and about as deep as a petri dish. I'd like to see more from his point of view. He's the most likeable character in the series, by far.
