Wes Anderson is "That Kid." Diagnosed with anxiety and depression; he is a Behavior Assistance Classroom student, or BAC student, at Forestridge Middle School. As the son of divorced parent, Wes lives with his mother in a one bedroom apartment in Potter's Bend, Texas. Fitting in has never been easy for Wes, so he spends most of his free time gaming with his online friends, people who seem to understand and accept him. Mrs. Jennifer, the Special Education counselor, along with his BAC teacher, Mrs. Bertrand, have worked hard to teach Wes coping strategies. But Wes is impulsive and his coping skills are often tested by guys like Ethan Hasen, a popular athlete who is dating Jessica Gellar. Jessica is the most beautiful girl in school and the object of Wes's affection. Jessica calls Wes a friend, but would she remain his friend if she knew of his BAC student status? As the bullying escalates, and he learns of the tragic secrets behind his parent's divorce, Wes reaches a breaking point and decides to take a stand. In one pivotal moment, lives are changed and the town of Potter's Bend discovers the importance of seeing past the black and white labels with which we brand each other.
