Contemporary Romance Author Casey Clipper introduces you to her Lunchtime Read Collection. A novelette series about five brothers, each story perfect for your lunch break or while waiting to pick the kids up from dance class, baseball practice, or wherever else you may be stuck in the car, at the office, airport, etc with time on your hands but need to fill that void. Each novelette is a standalone.
Shane Quinn is a man who's in charge of all aspects of his life. From business to personal, he's unwavering in his duties. As the eldest of five brothers, he's always been the one in charge, to have the last say. Nothing rattles him. Until HR sends him an administrative assistant that disturbs his set routines.
She isn't his normal type. She's cute, funny, and isn't a woman who would understand that a romp in the bedroom is just a release for him. A way to offset his need for control and to let loose his uptight demeanor. She's the type to want something more. Something Shane isn't willing to give. But his draw toward her innocent lure and her unacknowledged sensuality yanks at him.
Can Shane manage to keep himself away from his new employee or will he find himself falling to her feet, possibly losing a piece of what has held him together all these years? And what about the fact that her ex is hell bent on making her life a living hell? Does he want to get involved in that type of drama?
Shane is an uptight man with OCD tendencies. A bit of a grouch, really. He is in control of every aspect of his life and doesn't handle change , or unplanned occurrences, very well. Leila is an intelligent woman who lives life as it comes: no routines, no worrying if things don't go as expected. The exact opposite of what Shane wants in an administrative assistant. Certainly not a candidate for a fling, either.
In spite of how wrong Leila is for him, Shane has to admit she is the best assistant he has ever had. She doesn't take any guff from him and knows how to put him in his place. She is also the most interesting woman he has ever met.
Shane is about to get his boring life shaken to the core. He has no idea how to handle his feelings for Leila but he can't keep ignoring them. It is a humorous ride watching Shane figure out how to be in a relationship--something he doesn't do. I wanted to slap him silly for his boorish behavior. I loved how his brothers needled him about his life and Leila.
I definitely recommend Ice, as well as Fire and Snow. Casey Clipper never lets me down. She writes stories with likable, believable characters and a terrific plot. Check out all of her books.
Shane Quinn runs an investment corporation and also the lives of his four brothers. He has finally received a great administrative assistant named Leila but she has been late every day for the past three weeks and has only worked for him for 1 month.
Yet there's something about Leila that Shane can't get enough off. Yet there are some major issues - one being Leila having a "boyfriend" and Shane not being able to commit to a relationship.
Will Shane realize how much Leila means to him and be there for her when it matters most?
This was another great book in the Quinn brothers series. I am loving this series and I love how we progress from one brother to another but still get to keep up with the brothers we have already read about.
I was looking forward to seeing who was going to break down Shane's walls as he is definitely the most controlling of the brothers and I'm glad that he is in the middle as I can't wait to see how he continues to change in the next two books.
I liked how Leila didn't stick around when Shane couldn't give her what she needed and that showed her strength. This is such a fun series and I can't wait to see what the next book has in store for the readers!
Ice which is Shane's story will have you lining up your ducks in row, color coding them and wondering if Leila will disturb Shane's very orderly life.
Shane Quinn is the brother who looks after every one of his four brothers with precision and order but when HR sends him a new assistant, Leila, he doesn't know if he can explain how important it is to be on time every morning. Can he hide his attraction to his beautiful admin assistant or will he take it to the next level?
Leila needs her job but when a man from her past shows up, the whole Quinn family comes to the rescue (including Mike from Snow). She realizes that what she feels for Shane is truly a love that will be everlasting.
Fire, Snow and now Ice will have you wanting to have your own Quinn brothers who love each other no matter what and takes the saying "Ohana, means family" and you'll realize that they are all truly family, warts and all. I can't wait to read the final two books.
