He's a hot cop. She's a wild artist. Making art has never been so dangerously SEXY.
Kaden Grant is well aware that the Seattle Police Department is no friend of shifters. But when the mayor’s favorite artist is targeted by the local hate-fanatic, he orders protective custody for her… and Kaden is desperate to land the assignment. Because any other cop would just get the girl killed. If only her wild streak didn’t threaten to bring out his long-buried secret…
Terra Wilding’s family is being torn apart, and now the Wolf Hunter is targeting her because her of photographs bringing out the light in the dark corners of Seattle. The only way to keep her baby sister Cassie and the other wolves safe is to leave her mountain refuge and hole up in a small house that feels more like a cage. If only the human cop who’s guarding her wasn’t so hot…
When Terra slips away to meet up with a secretive art collector, Kaden’s protective side goes into overdrive. He’s an alpha’s alpha, and he lights a wild heat in her that threatens to burn them both down. Kaden wants to protect and serve, but can he tame the wildest Wilding before the Wolf Hunter catches up to them both? WILD HEAT is a complete novel with HEA, the third in the Wilding Pack Wolves series. All stories are standalone, but for maximum reader enjoyment, start with the River Pack Wolves trilogy. Contains scorching hot shifters, alpha heroes, and sexy artists. Only readers over 18 should dive into the dangerously hot world of the Wilding Pack Wolves.
Another great Wilding book. Terra didn't always act the wisest, but she sure did have heart. Kayden sure did have a big secret. Of course there's great sex, and they're my mate so don't touch them. Nice to know what has the Wolf Hunter so mad, but I can't wait till someone catches him.
Rating 4.5 This is another great paranormal thriller and romance aimed at adult only audiences. It is the third story from the Wilding Pack wolves and continues their desperate search for the Wolf Hunter before he kills more shifters. Now he’s announced that he’s targeted the Seattle mayor’s favourite artist, Terra Wilding and he’s assigned a police officer to protect her. The officer concerned is Kaden Grant, he’s volunteered for the role but he has secrets of his own that this role could expose, too. Keeping the wild, feisty photographer safe is going to be a challenge as she’s an independent and hates being restricted but, with her life at stake and love in the air, maybe things will just have to change!
This is definitely a series where it pays to have read the earlier books first although I suspect readers could still enjoy this one without having done so. It builds on the River Pack Wolves series and many characters are common to all the novels, so it is great to catch up on what is happening with the favourites who starred in other books and to look out for what the secondary characters are doing, too. The characters are all well developed, after reading all the books to date they are like friends I’m catching up on. Their attitudes, reactions are consistent through the novels and the plot is filled with plenty of danger, hot action and thrilling suspense, too. This, like the others, is an enthralling read which I thoroughly enjoyed immersing in and highly recommend to any adult who enjoys hot, action packed, steamy paranormal thrillers with superb characters and an intriguing plot. The reason behind the Wolf Hunter's determination to attack shifters is revealed in this book - and what a surprise that is, WOW!! I can’t wait for the next episode in this highly entertaining set of books to be released!
Thanks to the author for gifting me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I liked Kaden from the very beginning but I wasn’t so sure about Terra. She seemed to be a little obsessed with her “art,” as she called it, but it was actually photography. Others may not see a difference but I do. AND it seemed to be ‘all about her,’ what she wanted was upper most in her mind no matter that someone was out to kill her and Kaden was there to protect her. It was like no matter who might get killed she wanted to do what she wanted to do. By 25 or 30% this was not my favorite of the series. She was just self-absorbed, and her thoughts were so depressing. BUT I hoped she would change as time went on. I was sick of her pity party. THEN at 40% she had her TSTL moment. I simply couldn’t believe what she did. Good grief! It didn’t matter that everything worked out it was still stupid. It did get better but it was just not enough for me. AND THEN she did another TSTL thing that got her caught by the bad guy.
Overall, it was a decent read but not nearly as good as the other two. BUT, it was nice seeing Noah again. And I do like Cassie and Trent, Terra’s brother and little sister. However, it didn’t make anyone look good inasmuch as Terra was taking her trust fund and build a house but no one bothered to donate anything to the shelter for the homeless wolves, the cubs, the old wolves, no one. No one cared and that made the end of the story kind of crappy.
There was sexual tension and some (almost) good sex. I’m not crazy about spankings. To some a spanking is sexy but to me it’s not. AND the F-BOMB was used 80 times. In this kind of book I would expect that so YOU’VE BEEN WARNED.
1.75 Stars for me. CAN YOU SAY TSTL TSTL TSTL TSTL?
The h was selfish, spoiled, whiney, and too stupid to live!
1. She fights protection when there is a direct threat against her.
2. She meets with a guy the day after she goes into protective custody because he wants to have him take photos for her. The guy is all about wolves? Red Flag maybe??? He even says that she needs to be careful BUT HE WAS THE ONE WHO GOT HER TO LEAVE PROTECTIVE CUSTODY TO MEET ABOUT SOMETHING THAT COULD HAVE WAITED!
3. She gets mad at the H, gets a call from the creepy wolf crazy dude who convinces her to sneak out to meet with him. Once she gets there, he starts asking red flag questions and she now knows he has vast knowledge about wolves. She is concerned but still thinks he is harmless.
4. He calls her again and wants her to sneak away from her protective detail so he can show her his 'private collection' Gasp... Another massive red flag. She takes the H but convinces him to wait outside the door... Where she is subsequently drugged and captured, then comes to with the villain naked over her while she is tied - clothed - to a chair.
5. Apparently she forgot about her mind link to the H so she waits for a moment to shout a warning to the H. If she used her mind link, she could have given him detailed information before he went into the danger zone.
I enjoyed the first two books in the series and hope that the next book has a better h!
The sex was explicit and well done. I agree with some other reviewers that the spanking took away from the overall heat.
The H - 9/10 The h - 2/10

Alisa Woods created another spectacular book in the Wilding Pack Wolves Series with book three, Wild Heat. Seattle artist, Terra Wilding, is targeted by the Wolf Hunter. Police officer, Kaden Grant, is assigned to protect her. This suspense filled PNR kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved this story.
First off, I have worked as a professional photographer, so I could totally relate to Terra. I appreciated all the detail Alisa Woods goes into when describing Terra’s work. Terra is a strong and creative character that has tons of passion and empathy. She loves her siblings and has a big heart.
Kaden is a great hero. He is very complex and interesting. He is very protective and makes a great cop. I enjoyed how his character evolved in the story. I love the chemistry between Terra and him.
Terra’s art patron, Julius McGovern, is an interesting individual. I liked his suggestion for her next series. You never fully knew what his motives were.
The plot is very meaningful and believable. I love the white wolf aspect of this series; it is ingenious. The story was full of action and well resolved. While you could follow this story as a stand-alone, I would definitely start with the River Pack Wolves Series, followed by book one and two of the Wilding Pack Wolves Series before reading this book. Other characters that are important to this story are introduced in those stories as well as the plot building from the previous stories.

I am one happy reader. I read this novel in a matter of two short hours because the suspense and plot gave me a wild ride and did a bang-up job of entertaining me.
This story is about Noah’s cousin, Terra. Noah is from Wild Love, the book that got me hooked on the series. This is 100% a standalone read. Noah shows up to help out Kaden, the hero, when help was needed the most. The assistance wasn’t your typical wolf-shifter style. It’s much more exciting than that.
Now, I know in reality, there are major regulations for what is and is not acceptable behavior for cops protecting witnesses in their care. But the fantasy of the bodyguard falling in love with the woman he protects and she him, is alluring to say the least. I mean, he has to be strong, an alpha, commanding and protective, right? Well, Kaden is all that and more. It’s the ‘more’ that makes this trope work for me. The author kept dropping hints through the hero’s self-reflection but the reality caught me by surprise. I enjoyed that.
I’m not a fan of some of the language. That’s my personal beef but it didn’t detract from the story, or my overall enjoyment. It did make me cringe here and there and I thought that the story/dialogue could have survived just fine without it. All the rest of the elements of the book were strong and very well written.
The suspense and thriller part comes from the evil villain, the Wolf Hunter. I was introduced to his sick ways in the previous book but in Wild Heat, I learned a lot more through Terra. I was just as shocked at the revelation as the character. The thing is … just when everyone thought they had a handle on the situation, nothing is as they believed. That translates into another book where the next couple in the Wilding Pack Wolves series is going to have to deal with the fallout. After reading Kaden and Terra’s story, I can only guess at the pressure the whole family and pack are under. This makes for excellent reading.
The chemistry between Terra and Kaden worked for me. They certainly burned up the sheets. There’s a lot more energetic passion that exploded between the two than the previous book, so the heat level is more on the hot side in Wild Heat. Definitely ice cube worthy.
Once again, I find myself enjoying Ms. Woods’ writing style. I heartily recommend reading this novel to paranormal romance fans. It has action, suspense, a solid plot, love, excitement, family and a fun romance with an HEA. I’m glad I read it.
Kaden Grant is a shifter and he knows that the police department is not the place for a shifter - hence he hides the fact that he's one very carefully from everyone in the Seattle Police Department where he works. When a shifter hate group threatens the mayor's favourite artist, and he orders her to have a protective detail, Kaden knows he has to be that detail so he can protect her from her potential protectors. He hits a problem when her wild streak threatens to bring out his secret while he is protecting her. Artist and free spirit Terra Wilding knew a Wolf Hunter was targeting her family, but he has now put her as an individual in his sights. The only way to keep her baby sister Cassie and the other wolves safe is to leave her mountain refuge and hole up with a human cop in a small house which feels like a cage. The cop is very hot and her wolf is getting overexcited but fed-up, so she decides to slip away to meet a secretive art-collector. Kaden's protective side goes into overdrive and as he is an alpha's alpha he finds himself with a wild heat that threatens to burn them both down. Can Kaden continue to protect and serve by taming the wildest Wilding or will the Wolf Hunter catch them both?
I am in two minds about this story - on the one side I loved the story and the Kaden side of the events and emotions that were happening, but on the other side, I absolutely detested Terra and what a spoilt bitch she was plus how she exhibited such bad behaviour. I know shifters have true mates but she really stretched that point and I really don't think she deserved to find her mate after behaving how she did. So whilst it was well written in that I could feel the thoughts and emotions of the characters, I really didn't like the plot sections involving Terra most of the time. Contains explicit sexual content
I enjoyed the book, it's a good solid entry in thr series and moves the overall story arc forward nicely. However, a couple minor pet peeves (which didn't affect my rating)...
Like I said, a good solid entry in the series but those points kinda bugged me!
I didn't love it, but I never go into these shifter romance books expecting much. That's not even an insult to the author, I just read these for the sole purpose of a cheesy, fun, low-stakes paranormal read. That being said, I didn't hate it either.
Terra may have brought it down to a 2-star, but Kaden saved it. I liked his perspective a lot in this book. 9 times out of 10, these shifter romance books are a young girl finding out she's supernatural, or at the very least "special". Maybe she struggles with it, maybe she accepts it right away, either way it is usually a similar story.
In this case, I loved seeing Kaden's internal struggle as he fought his instincts around Terra and his nature on a physical level, but also his own morals and emotions due to what he was raised to believe about shifters. It was an interesting perspective and felt like a reasonable process from hesitancy to acceptance. He didn't dive head first and ignore what he believed the second he became interested in Terra, but never fully shut her or his instincts down either. Honestly, for me, he was the only memorable thing about this book because it's been a few weeks and I don't remember much else about it.
Another great book in the series with a HEA, suspense with a twist and steaming hot love scenes!!
Officer Kaden Grant has gone out of his way to make sure he lands the Mayor's assignment to protect the city's newest up and coming artist Terra Wilding. Terra is now the main target of the Wolf Hunter so Officer Grant has to taken her into protective custody. She brings out all of his protective instincts! How is he going to keep his long hidden secret hidden while just being near her is driving him out of his mind?
Terra knows there is something different about Officer Grant as soon as she lays eyes on him. She just doesn't understand what it is that is attracting her this human. Each moment that passes the heat is building between then until they combust. Terra starts a new project that takes then to gang territory were Kaden grew up. All she see's is a way to try to help the shifter community. All he she's is the danger she is putting herself in.
Plan ahead because you won't want to put it down. I love series and seeing the characters develop. It is always great to see the story grow. can't wait to see what happens next. Happy Reading!
I wasn't sure I was going to like Terra's book, since I wasn't particularly fond of her in Jaxson's story, but this was a fantastic book, I think this brought to light why she behaved the way she did previously. This story had a bit of a surprise plot twist that was great too. Kade is very likable, in turn, Terra is actually very likable in this story. This had me hoping for the HEA for the couple, & happy it happened. The story flowed fast & smooth, couldn't put it down. I'm anxious to see where all this white wolf stuff ends up too. This book can be read independently from the series without being totally lost, though I believe a reader will get much more enjoyment starting at the beginning as all the stories have a thread or characters that intertwine thru several series.
While I liked both of our leads, Terra's stupidity grated on my nerves at times. It didn't help that it was so blatantly obvious who the Wolf Hunter is. I called it the moment he entered the narrative! You know how some people yell at the TV during horror movies when one of the cast does something dumb, like go off by themselves into the woods at night while there's an axe murderer around? Well, I do the same thing to my Kindle, and Terra had me going! She puts herself in some very sticky situations by being flat-out silly. Still a fun read, and the romance and sexy scenes are very well written, especially since there's that element of destined/fated mate/partner going on. She works with that concept a lot better than most authors.
Really enjoyed the third book in the Wilding Pack Wolves series. This is Terra Wilding's story. The artist is as beautiful as she is talented and police officer, Kaden Grant, has met his match! The Wolf Hunter is still on the loose and out for blood. It isn't a secret that the blood he wants is Terra's but he didn't count on Kaden. Her savior. Her protector. Her alpha.
Tessa is a photographer well known in Seattle as also a shifter. Kalen is a Seattle police officer and a white shifter. Kalen lobbies for and gets the job of protecting Tessa from the people threatening to kill Tessa. Romantic, action mystery is well-written with well-developed characterization for adult readers.
Terra is a shifter artist for the city of Seattle. The wolf Hunter is out to get her so the mayor sends in officer Kaden Grant. Terra is not happy about being in a safe house with a human and nit able to create her art. Kaden wanted this task to make sure she is safe. He has a little secret he's hiding. Can Kaden truely keep Terra safe? Need to read great series.
THis is a fast read full of steamy sex and hot shifters. There is plenty of suspense too. Will Karen keep Terra safe? Will the Wolf Hunter strike again? Will Karen discover and accept who or what he is. Will Terra find her way out of the darkness of her past? If you liked paranormal books, you will love this one.
Terra Wilding is the next target of the Wolf Hunter, a man who is attacking wolf shifters. Kaden Grant is a police officer with a secret and he's taken on the task of protecting Terra. The two of them are drawn to each other, but Terra remains in danger.
I enjoyed this book. I liked both Kaden and Terra and we had plenty of drama as well as steam. I'm really enjoying this series.
Kaden , a cop, not sure what he is until he meets Terra, who grounds him. She thinks he's human but... Then of course in steps the villain, Wolf Hunter and kidnaps Terra. I love this world.
This book is melting hot. It dragged me out of my Dragonvale stupor and made me smile. The characters are strong and full of flaws. They are the people next door with something extra. I wish the witches weren't the nasty people.
So close in catching that wolf Hunter for good. But big surprise, he's a white wolf as well and looking for revenge but wolves should stick together but this one is pure evil'll!
Terra is an artist. Kaden is on the Seattle police force. When the wolf hunter goes after Terra the mayor makes it a priority to protect her and Kaden is assigned as her personal security. I enjoyed this book, lots of action and surprise plot twist
