While I didn't find this book to be terribly helpful personally, it is a good book that I'm sure would be helpful to many. The book describes a method of prayer using the Lord's Prayer (Our Father) as a model. I have used this method in the past with some success, but I have found a different model that works better for me. That being said, I will cherish this book because it was given to me by a friend who loves me and knew I needed some help with my prayer life. I am truly blessed to have such a friend. To be honest, I don't need a method so much as I just need some more self-discipline. Study comes easy for me, praying not so much and I find it easy to put off.

This is a wonderful book for anyone attempting to "jump-start" his or her prayer life. I enjoyed how Bob Beltz broke down the Lord's prayer and expanded it. Truly there is so much to be thankful for from our God who has made known His eternal qualities in these last days through His Son, Jesus Christ! I will never look at prayer the same again. Yes, it is that deep and powerful. But only if you invest the time in it and do what he suggests. If you are simply a skimmer, this book is not for you. You have to be thirsty for God's presence in your life.

This is one of those 'classic' books for me. It is a very practical 'how to' book based on the Lord's prayer. It describes how to pray privately for long periods of time. As I seek to know God better, it occurred to me I should spend time getting to know him and communicating with Him regularly.

It helped me log some good time on a consistent basis. I recommend it and will revisit it again. It is a keeper that is worth reviewing every few years.

I read this book about 20 years ago and re-read it recently in preparing a "Prayer Worksheet".

This model of prayer is based on the Lord's Prayer (the Disciples' Prayer).

I have found it a helpful model over the years and keep coming back to it. I have found it useful and helpful in my own prayer-life.

Great book on prayer…very practical. It changed my prayer life from something I dreaded to something that I enjoy and can't get enough of!
