I love author Rochelle French's town of Meadowview!!! I wish that this were a real place that I could move too!! She does such an amazing job with creating the environment, the location and the town folks that I really, really, really wish that this were a real place! I love her use of the small town gossip, but at the same time it is small town love!

Author Rochelle French's characters are compelling, quirky, fun and the type of characters that you wish you could find in real life....when you finish each book it is like you are leaving behind friends. This book is part of a series, but it can be read as a standalone and you can jump right in with no problems. Neva is new to Meadowview. She is there to start an organic farm and she is ready to show the world she can do it on her own. Peter is ready to leave and has had a plan for years to travel the world. The two of them have history, but they may also have a future.

The author takes the reader on a roller coaster ride of emotions, un-predictiblness and fun. The reader zooms through the pages trying to figure out what is going to happen next! It is a fun, fast read that makes the reader want to re-read it as soon as they have finished to see what they may have missed the first time.

If you haven't entered this enchanting town, you are missing out!! You need to add this one and all of her others to your TBR list and get started in this world. There is nothing that a trip to Meadowview can't solve!

Neva had just moved to an organic farm she bought and was busy tending her crops and getting customers. Her neighbour was Peter who had been taking care of his aunt's farm for two years and was just about to leave for his "great adventure" of travelling the world when they met. Neva and Peter were best friends in high school and she had a major crush on him but he had a crush on her twin sister, Carla. Neva believed people don't change and had the same goals as when they where in high school. She also jumped to conclusions when she saw something. This happened many years earlier when she saw her fiance with Carla and another time there was an incident with Peter. She never stopped to ask about it. Just left. So when she ran into Peter again she still held a grudge but was really attracted to him. As he was to her.

I liked this story about two people getting a second chance. The characters were great. I really liked Peter. He was smart, aware, and open minded enough to accept change and people for who they were. Neva, on the other hand, was not open. She was stubborn and thought people didn't change. Poor Carla. She was so misunderstood all her life. I loved the small town setting of Meadowview. It's a small town where everybody knows everybody else because they were friendly not because they were being nosy. Even with the drama in this book there is also humour. Like the young porcupine, Brat, who shows up when he's not wanted.

Neva continues to keep herself and those around her boxed in to who she believes them to be. This includes Peter, her sister, and herself. She does not believe people can change and what she believed happened when she was a teenager really happened. People do change and sometime our perceptions of an event are not the truth. Meadowview is a quirky, small town. I love all the people in it.

I downloaded this book as part of a bunch of freebies. But I quickly fell in love with the characters, including Brat, and the town of Meadowview. This book lands in the middle of a series but it was definitely readable as a stand alone. I'm looking forward to reading this author's other work.
