Banished to the New World, Lord John Winslow arrives in Tennesee penniless, with only his title to his name, and finds himself attracted to Coralee Hayes--the woman hired to do his laundry--despite their cultural differences. Original.

I was going to give this book 2 stars, but the last 50-ish pages redeemed it somewhat. All I really have to say is that everything was superficial. The hero in particular is very shallow and superficial. He complained too much. Nothing was ever up to his standards, and instead of working to improve living conditions, he just built a tennis court and continued to mope around! I liked the heroine. She was sweet, but she was also a country bumpkin stereotype, as was the entire mountain village. It annoyed me so much that the hero just could not comprehend how the heroine could be happy and live a fulfilled life without fancy clothes and material possessions, and he still wasn't completely over it by the end, either.
I really enjoyed reading this book! I actually learned something I did not know because it was based on a historical settlement. I really enjoyed the antics of Caralee.
