Another thoroughly enjoyable police procedural from SP Edwards featuring the dogged Detective Marr, this time striving to solve the murder of a professional footballer. (Or soccer player to us Aussies)
A wonderful Detective he may be, but I find Marr an absolute cesspool of a human being. Sam, a member of his team, would have to be one of my most hated protagonists. Really ...... she's just a wonton, slutty, homewrecker who I hope gets her comeuppance somewhere along the line.

Good read

I didn't see it coming. A very cleverly woven plot. Not sure we needed the Sam/Married bit though it really didn't seem necessary.

While I'm loving the mystery part, I'm finding it difficult to like Steven or Sam atm. I'm really hoping they don't become an ongoing thing.

Having read the first book I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. Loved the football element as I have a love of the beautiful game 😊
