While not something I would usually read, I found this a charming little book of poems.
The poetry reflects the time of writing, many poems dealing with the angst of the First World War and yet also dealing with the lighter aspects of life in South Africa in 1918.
This slender volume transports one back to a simpler time, reminding one that even with the tragedy of the Great War, life continued at its slow pace in the rural Western Cape of South Africa.
