This is a romance, a military romance that will break your heart.
Cole can’t remember
Cassidy just wants to move on

Cole had a terrible accident, hence no memory of a lot of his past.

Cassidy was his instant attraction.
But will he remember her?

The family opposes their relationship.

Just when I thought I’d been through all the tragedy I get another surprise.

This is the authors debut novel I believe, if it is, then I’m loving her style.

5 Stars!!!

One chance meeting and the life of Cassidy and Cole changed forever. Life can take the cruellest and most unexpected twists. Cole is fighting to remember, Cassidy is fighting to move on. Will either of them win the fight? Will fate bring them together again or will the hidden enemy close to Cole’s heart destroy any chance they have?

For a debut release this book is absolutely amazing!!! R.J. Nicolson has given us a beautiful military romance with an intriguing twist; the story is captivating, powerful and emotional. This was the kind of book that had me gripping my kindle begging for the finally outcome, yet wanting the story to never end. There is one part in the book where I could have happily slapped the author and I even contemplated if I should continue, for I was sure she had already broken my heart with Cole and Cassidy’s story. However my curiosity thankfully won out and I had to read on, I needed to know how this story was going to develop and end, without a doubt I was not disappointed!

Cole is simply wonderful; he wore his heart on his sleeve and for all that life chucked at him he kept fighting and fought hard to win. He was loyal, honest, up front and wouldn’t harm a fly unless they hurt him. His love for his brother considering outside influences was beautiful, it was clear the bond they had would have taken a lot to break.

Cassidy was a sweet girl, out to enjoy life and work hard for her future. She was honest, loyal, sweet and shy; with friends she was completely herself and didn’t hold back. The friendship she and her sister shared was strong, even when bad decisions tested their bond; they still stuck together and stood by each other’s side. They were also honest with each other and didn’t hesitate to say how the other felt.

There are many loveable characters in this book and there are some that will grind your gears to the extreme of wanting to crawl into your kindle, grab them and slap them yourself! One particular character even now, still has me shaking my fists in frustration at their behaviour. They were in my opinion truly evil, I would find it hard to ever forgive them.

I loved this book and could read it time and time again; it’s that kind of romance.

If you love military romances, with suspense and an intriguing twist you will absolutely love The Fight to Remember by R.J. Nicolson!

Cassidy and Cole's love is a once in a lifetime kind of love that will stand the test of time...but can it survive a war across the world and everything else that life seems that its going to throw at it?!?!

Cassidy had no idea that the man that she met at a bar one night could possibly be the guy that would hold her heart forever. She also couldn't have guessed that she would only have 2 unbelievable days with him before a war and a commitment would take him away from her.

Cole knows the minute that he lays eyes on Cassidy that she is his forever. She was born to be his. He will fulfill his promise to queen and country and do this last tour overseas but then he's coming back to claim this woman and make her his forever!

War and life seem to be throwing everything in Cassidy and Cole's way. Everything that can happen happens and it seems that they will never get their chance at a happily ever after. Then finally it seems that fate is on their side and things start moving in the right directions for them.

If ever there was a love that could stand the tests of time, this is it. I was cheering them on from start to finish. This story captured me from the start and refused to let me go until the end. Well worth the book hangover! I couldn't put this book down. I cant wait to read more from this author!

Loved the plot of this story.
Cole is in the army, laid back, easy going, doesn't push for attention off the girls. he sits back and let's his friends have the fun, that is until he sees Cassidy.
She sees him watching her as she is grinding against a guy on the dance floor. she decides to leave. When she reached to open the taxi door another hand touches hers on the door. She let's the mystery guy share with her and purposefully makes sure she drops them off outside a police station ... you j ow just in case he's a psycho murderer.
He only had one night left before he deploys back to Afghan. Is one night enough to know you've fallen in love.
Both Cassidy and cole write to each other for 6 months and then boom no contact from Cole. She waits for him because being with anyone else doesn't feel right. She doesn't know what has happened to Cole but she knows that there is something about him she can't forget about.
I don't want to spoil too much so you need to read if they will get their happy ever after.
Right ok the reason why I'm giving this 4 stars and not 5 is because I found the writing a bit all over the place at first, however once the story gripped me it was so hard not to put down!
Defo worth a read.

This story reminds me of the unknown struggles military families go through. When Cole and Cassidy meet for the first time, I could feel the love at first sight between the two. Normally I would not believe it with my past failed marriage but this meeting made me believe again. When Cole goes off to war, Cassidy becomes one of many women who fear and hope for their soldiers' safety no matter what army they serve British or American and she waits for his contact until it all stops. When Cole loses his memory, I could feel his frustration and the way the author writes through his eyes, you feel as though your memory is lost and you too have to fight to recover what was lost. I won't spoil much more but the intensity and the emotional rollercoaster of both characters have me reeling and really wanting to jump into the story to help them. Reminds me of why I chose psychology as my major in college. Good read. Hope to see more books like this in the future

O WOW!!!!!
This is a romance with one hell of a twist, you know there is someone in your life, but you don’t know who it is!! Seriously, this is a freaking awesome read!!

When Cassidy and Cole meet, they have this instant connection, unfortunately he has to return to Iraq a few days after meeting. When his letters stop arriving, Cassidy spends year pining for the guy she fell so hard for.
Cole, wakes up following an accident whilst on patrol having no memory of anyone. All he remembers is someone he knew he had a strong connection with. With no way for him to know who she is or how to contact her, he believes it is all in his head.
With family interference from both sides, they finally cross paths many years down the line, but will it help Cole’s memories or will they say their final goodbyes and allow Cassidy to get some closure?

**COPY RECEIVED FOR HONEST REVIEW**
Ok, this is hard for me to review as i'm not sure how to say what i feel so i'm just going to go for it.
While the plot for Cassie and Cole's story was good, it had the potential, in my opinion to be so much better. The reason i say this is because, from early on in the book, i kinda figured a lot of things out. Now that could just be down to my mind always working, trying to figure things out but i don't think it was. At times the plot, and again this is just my opinion, was very predictable.
In saying that i did like the characters, but i think more could've been done with not just Cassie and Cole, but also the side characters (Cole's family, Cassie's family and friends), i think it'd have been nice to have got at least 1 pov from Helen, Cole's mum and also Julius, Cole's dad.
Overall it was a pretty good read.

This book starts with a chance encounter which leads to a boy (Cole) and a girl (Cassidy) spending his last 48 hours of leave together.
Cole then returns to his tour of Iraq. But when tragedy strikes Cole is forced to return home, minus his memory. Except for those of the girl who holds his heart.

This is a great love story where the course of true love certainly doesn't run smoothly. They face many hurdles, some from people you won't believe, and the story is quite angsty.
I spent nights/early mornings telling myself 'just one more chapter', I needed to know how their story ended. And when I finally got there I couldn't think of a more suited ending.
Well done to this new author. I look forward to reading more of her work.

I have had this book on my kindle since the day it was released and I honestly don't know why it has taken me so long to read it. I absolutely loved it and was gutted that my life kept taking over so I had to keep putting it down. The plot was unique and the characters were wonderful. I found myself falling in love with the love story. The journey that Cole and Cassidy went through to be together was perfect and magical. R.J. has woven a wonderful tale that touched upon on a difficult subject some families go through everyday. This is a fantastic debut novel and I can't wait to see what this author writes next. An easy 5 stars.

This book had me hooked from
Page 1 and held my attention all the way from
Cover to cover. What an amazing read. The storyline was great and the characters were even better. I love both Cassidy and Cole and their story. This is s story that will keep you hooked as it tells it from both their views and this is something I like in a book. It also, for me , makes it that easy to read. And more enjoyable. No spoilers from me, not even a glimpse at the storyline , nope, you're going to have to read this 5 star book to see what I'm raving about.

Cole and Cassidy's story is about more than the chemistry they had when they first met during Cole's last 48 hours of leave. It is about loving someone despite the distance, despite not hearing from them, despite the looks, and despite all other barriers they come across. The Fight to Remember is about the struggles of PTSD, memory loss, feeling betrayed and disfigurement. Look forward to reading more by this author.

This is the first book by this author, and I'm so glad I discovered it. Rachel does a great job telling Cassidy's and Cole's story. The plot is well thought out and you can't help but to fall in love with these characters. I especially love how no matter the circumstance in life, true love, that soul connecting love can be recognized no matter what. She captured this beautifully. I look forward to reading more by this new author. Job well done!
