Rate this book
DAISY, DAISY is a welcome peek into the heart of a woman who is unable to communicate because a stroke has left her paralyzed and aphasic. Her heart yearns for her husband, William, who died unexpectedly from a heart attack. Life spirals out of control for Daisy as she is transported to a world where she feels more like a piece of furniture being sent to a second hand store than a loving mother who lived, loved and laughed. Her soul cries out but the words don’t come.
A must read for anyone blessed with an elderly parent – especially one who has experienced a stroke or for caregivers and for those working in geriatrics.
Becoming elderly is not an option. We all travel that road. DAISY, DAISY reminds us to help others to journey with dignity and how compassion, the gift of time and a basketful of hope can bless a person beyond measure.
