One bad lust fueled decision leaves Jamie Finch the victim of a bite-and-run. Now faced with turning into a werewolf--a state there is no shifting back from--he chooses to embrace his new nature and leaves the human world behind.

When he finds the Wildwood pack, one wolf's scent drives Jamie to the brink of rationality. He learns forming an empathic bond with a mate will cool his desires, and he can't deny the longing to finally find a place in the world where he's wanted. But the power of the mating season is strong, and the mating ritual itself leaves Jamie up for grabs to any interested wolf.

This short story is beyond intense and the intensity just keeps building and building. The author has taken an interesting view of werewolves, where they are not shifters, but weres that are a sort of halfway point between human and wolf. They walk upright, have ears that are pointed and have a tail. The sex in the story when it happens is scorching hot. I loved this authors view of werewolves and loved this story.

It was ok, but just ok. I liked some parts of it but I also have a lot of issues with it. What I liked about it was Jamie. The uncertainty, how everything was new and he had so much to learn. Getting to know some different world and different rules to what he was used to, that was what I liked the most about it.

What I didn’t liked about it was the lack of emotions involved. I didn’t felt any connection between Jamie and his mate, no love and the lust was not exclusive towards him. I also felt like the story was told in such a big rush. I would prefer it was a little longer and maybe we got longer time getting to know Jamie’s mate, because I don’t think I really got to know who he was.

In general was fine, it was entertaining and short enough for times when I’m looking exactly that, something short to read.

pretty much unapologetically just werewolf porn, and insofar as it was that I enjoyed it, but I was bothered by the part of the premise that (consciously or otherwise) draws on/plays into the myth of people with HIV actively/maliciously seeking to spread the virus. not great.

This was great. I LOVE werewolf mating stories and this didn't disappoint. Hit all the usual tropes with a few subversions slipped in, was unbearably hot and cute, and left me smiling at the end. Also managed to have several side characters in such a short word count that I found myself attached to, especially Chance, so adorable. Will def look for more in this series.
