Ripped: The Hairy Tales of a Brazilian Bikini Waxer

Rate this book
Have you ever wanted to know what happens behind closed doors during a Brazilian bikini wax? Curious what your waxer is really thinking about as she rips the hair from your nether regions? In the tradition of Kitchen Confidential and Heads in Beds, Ripped chronicles the highs, lows and hilarity that are part and parcel of a job that involves nudity and pain. After nearly a decade running a day spa specializing in this most intimate of services, Brazilian bikini waxer Christine Duquette has seen it all. She draws you in from the very first page with a parade of unforgettable clients and outrageous but true tales of the good, the bad and the stinky—all told by a keenly observant insider. You’ll never look at your waxer the same. From her first time manscaping a manzilian, to answering burning questions like, “Should I bleach my bum?” and “Why do we have pubic hair anyway?” Ripped is a raucous read and more than a collection of trade secrets, it is a colorful tale filled with wild characters—from hair-pants lady to a purring adult film star. Christine is a solid storyteller who has captured the essence of the high maintenance beauty industry with an authentic blend of wit and charm. After more than a decade running a day spa, Christine Duquette now writes professionally and can be found at stellarwebwriting.com. You can also reach out to her at www.thebarespa.com where she blogs about all things beauty and answers your burning questions.

I really enjoyed this book. I cried, I laughed and I cringed. I really enjoyed seeing things from the other side. I enjoyed the chapter where questions were answered. It opened my eyes to a whole new perspective. Loved the diagrams.
