Ash lost his mate a lifetime ago. Ever since he’s been going through the motion of living a life. He raised an adopted daughter, spent time with his brothers and their mates. His strength to go is running out, and all he has is blind faith that he will be reunited with his mate. Brook has been in Cryo for three hundred years, wanting the one person she can’t have until she wakes up. Now she’s all alone living in the future. A chance meeting brings Ash and Brook back together. Just when they think everything is perfect, Brook finds out she is being hunted by the Patron and if he can’t have her no one can. This book contains adult material and is not recommended for readers under the age of 18.
This is actually a continuation of the "Love me Harder" series. I would say book seven in that series. This is the story of Ash and Brook... they actually met in book 5 Titled "Hale' in the Love Me Harder series. It was a brief meeting it was a meeting were they set a date to meet again. This book picks up where there have been years passed since that meeting. We find that Brook did not show up to the meeting and has not been seen again. Ash thought her to be dead since she was a human and had a health issue. But years and years later in their present day we find that Brook was 'frozen' and not to be brought back until there was a cure for her illness. Five months later after coming out of the 'frozen' state she is released and she goes to where they were to meet. Ash who can't forget Brook goes there sometimes to remember her and he goes there today and they meet again. While there someone tries to kill Brook and they go on the run. This starts their love story.
I fall a little in love with each brother but I think Ash wins. A man who lives with that kind of pain for the "hope" of love is the one I want. Ash has always believed his was the spare, replaceable. But he is the heart of the family, the protector because he cares. Now on to Dante and his brothers!!!!!
Oh my goodness, I still have so many unanswered questions. I loved this "conclusion" to the Dare brother's story (be sure to read the first 6 books in the series before you dive into this one). Ash and Brook are fabulous. The story was phenomenal, the sex is hot, and all of the characters are great. I'm hoping we get to read about Dante and his brothers SOON!
I like Ash and Brooklyn's story. She certainly was someone worth rooting for and after waiting so long, he deserved his happily ever after. I was a bit annoyed that not all the plot lines were wrapped up, but am looking forward to the next series.
This is the book I have been waiting for, next to Dante of course, and boy it did not disappoint. Ash met Brooklyn centuries ago when Sergey and Lorali got married. They agreed to meet up on Monday at the aquarium in town. Before that could happen the war came and Brooklyn was gone to Ash. Dante, ever the knowledgeable one told him not to give up but it would be many years before he would see her again.
Brooklyn is blind and her body is pain riddled when she meets Ash at the stadium where Sergey and Lorali are getting married. She has just enough time to feel his face and kiss him and make a date for Monday before her bodyguards find her and she is whisked away. Afterwards she is taken to a facility and frozen until a cure can be found for her disease. She thinks her parents are ashamed of her and she goes kicking and screaming only be usher is carried away.
Two centuries later Brook is being thawed and she thinks it has just been a few years. She meets Jaz, her med tech and they become instant friends. Unfortunately, Jaz has to explain to her that not only are her parents dead, but that she has been frozen for centuries and that the earth has been through a war.
His immediate family has left earth, including his daughter and her mate to go on a galaxy walk about but Ash couldn't go. He is still waiting for Brook and while he is desperately lonely he is unwilling to leave earth. He is going to wait. Dante has kept giving Ash hope and finally Dante comes in and takes Ash for a ride. He let's him choose a car and then tells him to go for a drive. It's Monday and Ash knows exactly where he is going.
Finally after 5 months at the medical facility Brook is being discharged. She is allowed to leave and Jaz asks her where she wants to go, she will have an escort take her there. Brook asks what day it is and being Monday she knows exactly where she is going. Not holding out any hope that Ash will be there, surely he is dead after hundreds of years, she is still shocked by the scenery on the way over.
Ash and Brook are both so shocked that they are both there they just hold onto one another. That is until someone tries to kill her.
Now with the family gone and just Ash and Dante and his brothers he isn't sure what he is going to do except protect her with his life.
This book is about second chances and cures and unveiling the past as it was, not necessarily what you saw at the time. You have to read the story of Ash and Brook and follow their journey. It's a sweet journey but filled with action and anger and life and death moments.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Oh come on, seriously....a cliffhanger just when it was getting good!!! In this story Ash the youngest brother, who found his mate and lost her on the same day is reunited with her again 300 years later. This is like some Buck Rogers stuff going on right here. Brooklyn's parents had her placed in cryostasis, until a cure could be found for her or so she thought. When Brooklyn is awaken and released from the medical facility she goes back to the place where she was to meet Ash.
The ever-wise all knowing Dante knew where Brooklyn has been all the years Ash had been longing and searching for her. I wouldn't I love to know the mystery that is Dante. It appears that someone wanted to keep Brooklyn on ice. The mysterious Patron, who has been terrorizing the citizen of New Pittsburg. Brooklyn's new Bestie Jazlyn harbors a secret of her own that sets one of Dante's brothers into wanting to claim what is his...!
This book leaves a lot of unanswered questions.
Why would Brook tell Amber to call her Brook when she had already address her as Brook and not Brooklyn?
This was a good story to read. The grammatical errors and punctuation usage took away the steady flow of the story.
I love her stories and plotlines but this one seemed rushed and not up to her usual standards. Also, quite a few errors, like punctuation in wrong place, wrong words, he instead of the, all little things that point to a rush job.
Loved it. I really like how Serena Simpson brought Ash and Brook love story to get her. I liked Jazlyns character as well. I can't wait to to read the next book on Jazlyn and Mich.
