Ever since a one-night stand with a curvy diner waitress, bear shifter James Harrison has been throwing himself into his work. There's a murderer running around Seattle and it's his job to catch him. The bodies are piling up, but suddenly when Penny shows up after a year of no contact, a murderer seems to be the least of his worries.
Penelope has been hiding a secret from the hot detective who used to visit her at the diner, because what should have been a one-night stand turned into something more permanent when she found out that she was having his baby. Now she's on the run from an organization attempting to take their son from her. Penelope's natural instinct is to keep him safe, but the only way to do that is to get help from Harrison.
Only problem is, he doesn't even know he's a father yet.
This is a STANDALONE shifter romance with a HEA and NO Cliffhanger.

There are grizzly murders happening in Seattle. Murder is never pleasant, but these poor souls have been tortured before death claimed them – and right now, the police have no suspects. What has come to light is that all the victims were shifters, and that puts a different spin on the usual murder cases that this team works on. They’re all shifters, so this hits a bit closer to home than usual.
Penny worked her sift as usual at the diner. Her life was quite different now from the night she’d spent with Harrison. Oh, she knew it was a one night stand and she hadn’t stayed around to be shown the door. After all, why would a hot, handsome cop want more than one night with a totally ordinary girl like her. But now she had even more reason to work hard, and maybe look longingly at “his table”. Their son, Camden. Her entire life now.
When a stranger sat down at one of her tables and requested her specifically she was curious, by the time she’d fled the diner she was terrified. She had to find Harrison, he was the only one she trusted to keep their son safe from this threat.
Harrison is fast paced, intriguing and has a sizzling sexy couple at its core. Harrison had wanted more with Penny and was disappointed when she left him without a word. Yet, he figured she wasn’t interested so he pushed down his instinct to go after her and respected her decision. That was mistake number one – always ask if you don’t know. Now an obviously terrified Penny was at his door – carrying a baby car seat. And his world tilted then righted again.
Listening to Penny’s retelling of the stranger who showed such an unnatural interest in their son, Harrison trusted his instincts that told him that somehow this stranger and the unsolved murders were connected. With the help of his team, he went undercover. And no one expected the chain of events that decision would put into motion.
I enjoyed Harrison very much. It sets up the ongoing series very well and leaves a satisfying feeling that even more exciting and dangerous times are in store for the members of this team.
If you’re looking for a solid story, a mystery to solve, interesting secondary characters who will eventually shine in their own stories – and just a really good romance, then this series should be on your reading list. I would recommend Harrison to any reader who loves Shifters and a good mystery.
I read this story through my Kindle Unlimited subscription. For ten dollars a month you get access to thousands of really great stories across all genre, and the authors get paid for you reading the story through to the 100% mark. It’s a win-win. Probably the best 10 bucks I spend a month.
Just want to say that this is a great short paranormal romance that is unfortunately, very believable in some ways. I could see some pure humans reacting in such a way. I won't say anything else. Read these in order, Harrison is #1, but the tiger Sarge is a prequel. Then Gavin is #2 and I think Grady is #3. Try these and see. They are shorter, but worth it!
After a one night stand with the guy of her dreams Penelope because pregnant and has his son. She is racing him on her own when she gets propositioned by a man wanting to do tests on her son. She packs up and hunts up Harrison a police detective and bear shifter. He goes undercover to find the people and stop them.
Loved this story.. I'm getting addicted to Terra Wolf books.. I'm going to look up a reading order list.. I want to read all of her books..plus the authors that write with her..
I actually really enjoyed this but it's not a complete standalone, genral storyline is really good with a lot going on but you are left with quite a few unanswered questions which I didn't like.
Good writing and a great story I could tell . The way it started made me hooked , I knew it was going to be great , I knew I would love to read it again.
Undercover Bear: Harrison (BBW Paranormal Bear Shifter Romance is by Terra Wolf and Meredith Clarke. It is the second of the Bear series I have read and it just happens to follow the first one. I normally do not like paranormal books; but this one is written in such a way that it seems to be okay. Harrison is a shift changer and changes into a bear. He has become a homicide investigator. Currently he is working on finding a serial killer. Young men and women in the city were being killed and placed all around the city. Maybe he could be among these if they didn’t find the cause. Penny is a waitress who had a one night stand with Harrison over a year ago. He left the next morning and she had his child. She was determined to do her best for Camden. One night she was working and a man asked for her. He offered her a generous sum of money to come with him and she refused. She ran. The only person she knows who might be able to help her is Harrison and she runs straight to him. Will Penny and Camden be safe with Harrison? Who is killing the shift changers and why? It is a really good book and series.
"Harrison: Undercover Bears" by Terra Wolf and Meredith Clarke. What a great book. The Authors have written a fantastic story-line with a well defined plot. I loved it. The characters were well developed and Harrison was perfect. Detective James Harrison is working on a hard case. With no clues at all and a body count that continues to rise. One of the oddities of the case is that each body discovered had had the front of the body carved out, with no evidence left at the scene. Penelope was a single parent working hard to provide for herself and her two month old son Camden. About a year ago Harrison and Penelope had a one night stand, and then they never saw each other again. Both had made assumptions about the other that were wrong. Penelope came home one evening before picking up Camden. Before she left she had a visitor. He was asking lots of questions about Camden and about Harrison being a bear-shifter which Penelope had no idea about. She wouldn't give him any information, she was frightened. The man had offered her a great sum of money if she brought Camden in for some tests. She terrified now. They wanted to take her baby so on the guise that she was getting coffee, she slipped out the back door and ran and picked up Camden and didn't return. Next thing she knew, she was on Harrisons front porch knocking on the door. Harrison let Penelope in. There was some discussion about each other's confusion as to why they didn't see each other again. Harrison though Penelope was afraid of his bear, but she had no idea he was a bear. Penelope didn't think that someone as good and handsome as Harrison would want someone like her. After they had that cleared up Penelope told Harrison that Camden was his son. She thought he would be upset and kick them out but Harrison was excited to have his mate back and to have a son. As Penelope was telling Harrison about the man who wanted to take their son and experiment on him, Harrison knew he had his first opening on the case. Penelope also gave Harrison the card the man gave her with his name and number in case she changed her mind. About the same time Harrison received a call from his superior that they had taken a young girl and he needed Harrison to find her and get her out as she could give them necessary information. It took some time to come up with a plan and execute it but Harrison had made it out with the girl only to find it was actually a set up. The same group kidnapped Penelope and Camden but who they were really after was Harrison. Now they had his family and a war was sure to follow. Harrison wouldn't give up his family to anyone. Amazing Book. I was given a copy for an honest review.
I received this for a honest review. I love these tow authors’ books. They have done such a great job. This is going to be such an awesome series.
James Harrison who was a well-known detective for the Seattle Police Department. He was also a lonely bear shifter. He had not been the same since his one night stand with this waitress. She had left without even a goodbye. He felt that she probably could not deal with the fact that he was a bear shifter. He missed her greatly but would respect the fact that she wanted nothing to do with him.
Penelope was a waitress who had a one night stand with a man she felt was too good for her. Now here she was a single mother with a 2 month old baby. It is not long before Penelope finds her and her son in danger. She must do everything in her power to protect her son, even if it is telling Harrison the truth.
There is these murders going on and something very strange about them. The only way to figure out what is going on and to protect Penelope and his son is to go undercover. It is not long before there is danger around the corner.
Will Harrison be able to bust this case wide open? Will Harrison be able to keep Penelope and their son safe? How is Harrison going to take to being a new father? Will he be able to get over the fact that Penelope kept this from him?
Main characters are James Harrison, a Seattle detective and Penelope, a waitress in a diner. After a one-night stand they both go their separate ways. She left the next morning thinking he didn't want to see her again and he never contacted her for the same reason. It might not have been the all-consuming "mate frenzy" we usually hear about, but knowing they both still harbored feelings for the other makes it that much sweeter. After their tryst, Penny is pregnant and doesn't want to burden Harrison with an unwanted child and doesn't let him know. After being approached by a sleazy man wanting to do testing on her son she panics. Having no one else to turn to to help keep her son safe, she goes to his father. Both parents had been thinking about the other during their year apart. Wondering "what if..." having to join forces to protect their son and capture the people that have been targeting shifters gives them the answers to those "what if" questions. There is danger, intrigue, deception and outright CRAZY. There is a terrific happy ending, but it does leave the door open for more drama with the deranged group, Purest. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This story started off pretty good, but there was not enough interaction between the hero and heroine...just enough to get by. This book needed to be longer in order to do this story justice, which it did not. The book and the readers could have benefited another 25% more of the story to make it complete. I always give honest reviews. There were also errors in the story. It needed beta readers.
Harrison is a bear shifter undercover detective. He works with a precinct who has an elite group of shifters. There have been bodies showing up. Every time they get close to resolving the case...another body appears. Harrison is tired and lonely. He remembers finding his mate, but he also remembers her never returning. She must hate shifters. That evening his doorbell rings. A change is eminent.
Penelope is a waitress who has a two month old son. She is approached one night by a man who wants information about her child and the father of her child. She flees and gets her child and takes him to his father for the very first time. He will protect them...right? It was only one night...would he even remember her name?
Harrison James, bear shifter and detective, is alone. The only woman that he has found that he wants to spend the rest of his life with, Penny, a waitress, evidently didn't feel the same. Sure, it was just one night, but she didn't even stay the whole night. He figured she didn't like that he was shifter. Almost a year later she shows up on his doorstep with a surprise. She and her son are being hunted. Now Harrison has so much more to protect.
Penny had really liked Harrison. She just didn't think that she was good enough for him, or that he was ready to be a father. She choose to take care of her son, Camden, by herself. Until a man shows up at the diner wanting her to allow them to do testing on Camden. She knows they won't take no for answer, so she goes to the only person she thinks will protect her and Camden, Harrison, Camden's father.....he just doesn't know it.....yet.
It's awesome!Bear shifter, Detective James Harrison's life is about to change drastically. Penelope is back with a bonus, Camden his son. His family is being targeted. Now, it's personal.
Read and discover Harrison and Penelope's well deserved HEA. This family of three get their second chance to happiness.
Loved this story but the writing does not flow the way I like. I would stumble over the wording in places. It has an excellent storyline and I liked the characters. Harrison the police detective, Penny a hot lonely waitress, boom, Camden, now Penny has nowhere to turn, she will do anything to protect her baby, even approach the father who does not know he is a father! I received this for a free review.
Warm hearted story. This is a very family oriented story. Harrison and Penny start out this new undercover police shifter series. It will be interesting to learn about the other shifters in this police squad and to learn about the other characters involved. Great start to this new series.
This was an interesting concept, but sort of fell flat. It is listed as a romance, but was more intrigue and drama than romance. It seemed like the romance aspect was secondary to the conflict. The conflict was a unique twist on shifter intolerance, but seemed a bit too rushed.
He is trying to solve the murders when she comes back to him for safety, together with their son he didn't know about. He goes undercover and he feels it is going to easy, tsss, why not listen to that feeling? This is more about solving the murders and who is kidnapping the shifters, the romance between them is more a side story.
Penny had a one night stand with Harrison almost a year ago and has a beautiful baby boy. She is approached by a man who wants her and her son to go to a facility where they will run tests on Camden and put a large amount of money in her account. She tells them no and runs to Harrison. Really exciting read.
The writing is too jarring. Half the time I had to write the rest of the scenes in my head to figure out what was going on. Not much build up of the relationship. The H was just magically in love and happy with everything. Not great. It could have been awesome.
Needs more cowbell. Which is to say my love for conspiracies was disappointed. I liked the plot but I never quite understood why she thought he was too good for her or whatever. Which seems small but seemed kinda like a big deal to me in context.
Great second chance love, He wanted her but she thought he didn't want her . A misunderstanding has kept them apart but she runs to him after someone wants her and her son which is his son as well. Pretty interesting and that will keep on going with each cop shifter.
Undercover Bear Harrison by Terra Wolf, Meredith Clarke is a good read. I just would have liked it better if longer. The end did leave an opening so another story could continue. Had a good ending, with room for more.
I read this and then proceeded to get the box set, a thoughrally enjoyed the book from start to finish, it's a good paranormal shifter romance. if you like shifter find their mates I recommend this book and all books in the series.
