Award-winning novelist Linda Chaikin brings her series to a rousing conclusion in the fast-paced trilogy with a grand finale complete with sword fighting, sea battles, and the quest for silver.
Linda Chaikin is a Christian fiction author with a focus on historical fiction. She sometimes publishes using the name L.L. Chaikin.
Linda was the youngest of 10 children and her father died shortly after she was born. She wrote her first full-length novel with pen and paper at the age of 14 - this novel was later rewritten as Wednesday's Child, part of the Day to Remember series.
She met her husband, Steve, in a Bible study, and they were married 6 months later. They both went to Multnomah School for the Bible, now known as Multnomah Bible College and Biblical Seminary in Portland, Oregon.
I was honestly just hoping for a little more from this series. It could be that I was not super interested in the historical factors of this book and there were so many history elements to it. The imagery was hard because of that. Overall, it is a good story about forgiveness but I see this story as more overarching between Bruce and Maximus (his father) and not really a love story since it doesn't really focus on the two of them.
This book was beyond amazing! I loved every moment of reading it. The story was gripping and pulled you into the intriguing world of the 1600's Spanish Main. Bruce and Devora's story is one I won't soon forget. I can't wait to read it again.
Pirates of the Caribbean! Hahaha! The third book was satisfying. The beginning of healing hearts, though in death of their parents. Bruce and Devora went through some tight, and heartbreaking, places. All is well that ends well!
This is one of my most favorite series I have ever read! Shout out to Linda Chaikin’s talents! The characters were so deep and interesting and the locations and historical backdrop were amazing! I feel like I learned so much about Spain and life in the 1600’s. I loved that they were trying to help Holland against the Spaniards. Bruce was super dreamy and his and Devora’s meeting in the second book was fantastically written. You never knew what was going to happen next in the story because there were so many twists and turns that kept you on your toes. Definitely recommend!
