Stephanie has been sick with the stomach flu for a while. When she comes back to school, her friends have made a new friend named Hilary. Stephanie is jealous. Also, their teacher passed out permission slips to everybody saying that if their parents signed it, they would be able to go camping. At home Stephanie's dad says she shouldn't go because he feels like she's still recovering from being sick. He is also saying that it could be really dangerous in the forest while hiking. Stephanie thinks her dad is being over-protective of her. When Stephanie is at school the next day, her teacher tells them that they will have tent mates. Stephanie hopes she'll be with Allie and Darcy. But it turns out that Allie and Darcy have been pared with Hilary. Allie said it was probably because she hadn't handed in her permission slip. When Stephanie's dad finally lets her to go on the camping trip, he says that he will be coming with her. Stephanie is disappointed. At school the next day, Stephanie find out that she is pared with Mia, an annoying student. Before the camping trip, Stephanie's dad packs her so many safely things. During the camping trip, Stephanie's dad embarrasses her by tying the laces of her ridiculous hiking boots and other stuff. ill Stephanie ever be glad that her dad had come on the camping trip and packed all those safety things for her? Read the book to find out.

I never read this one as a kid.

This was, once again, a super cute book. These just make me smile! I'm so glad I found so many of them at Half Price Books.

4.25 stars. This book's central focus is Stephanie Tanner. Stephanie eagerly anticipates the seventh-grade class field trip, a camping trip with her friends. Stephanie encounters two problems with the field trip. The first problem is that her overprotective dad, Danny, may not allow her to partake in the trip. Danny feels that Stephanie is still recovering from her bout of stomach flu. The second problem is that Stephanie's friends befriended someone new while she was out sick, leaving Stephanie feeling left out and jealous. Can Stephanie solve her problems before her camping trip turns sour?
Overall, I found this book wholesome and a delight to read. I enjoyed that the characters and their traits were similar to those of the TV show, in addition to the new characters. I also appreciated that the plot points and storyline of the book were different from the TV show. This writing style gives the stories in the series variety. I will continue the series.
