Fairly short read. Decided not to trust the book by the cover and once I start something, I cannot stop it until completion; so I read "Hello Birthday, Good-bye Friend". It was was a good book for what it was meant to accomplish. Basically, this whole book is about Stephanie, her friend Darcy and Darcy's boyfriend Alex. They become stuck in the ultimate love triangle. Darcy does not know that Alex is into Stephanie. Once Darcy found out, she was very upset, to say the least. To everyone's great surprise, that isn't even the kicker. The biggest news of all is that Alex is having multiple girlfriends at the same time and then breaks up with each of them after it's all said and done. It turns out that both Stephanie and Darcy were played by Alex. A little bit on Alex is that he's a new but popular student at John Muir and is also one of the fastest on the track team. Darcy offers Stephanie to get up early in the morning and substitute running with Alex for her. At first, Stephanie is reluctant but then takes a liking to Alex and that is when the whole nightmare begins. This book reads surprisingly well and flows smoothly.
