Lo dicho, lástima que sea un manga de solo dos tomos, porque la historia daba para muuuuuuuchos tomos.
En esta trama futurista, la humanidad está siendo atacada por los miméticos, unos alienígenas que quieren extinguir la raza humana. Keiji, soldado novato, se enfrenta a su primer combate contra estos seres. Al morir, entrará en un buclé que le hará volver a la mañana del día anterior. Y hasta aquí cuento.
Me ha gustado mucho la trama, me parece original y bien llevada. Los personajes geniales también. Sobre todo Rita. Me hubiera gustado conseguir más de ella. Pero no puedo ponerle la nota máxima, porque es demasiado corto. Necesito reposo en las historias. Me gustan que crezcan poco a poco, no rápidamente. Aún así, un manga muy recomendable <3

Second volume and conclusion of the story. Here, Keiji meets Rita, who is the best soldier (and an endearing character) and with whom he discovers a shared connection, which brings them closer and together, they plan how to put an end to the Mimics. The reason behind the time loop is explained, and it includes a decent plot twist. The ending is one of my favorite types of endings for a manga: a bit cheesy, rather bittersweet, like an invitation to have a cup of coffee that can never be (if you read it, you’ll understand the reference).
As a curiosity, I knew the art felt familiar, but being absent-minded, I hadn’t noticed that it’s by the same artist as Death Note. Furthermore, the manga is an adaptation of a light novel, which I hope to get soon.

The second instalment was even worse than the first instalment and I honestly don't wanna talk about. I explained my major gripes with the series in my review for book 1, and all there is to add here is that this was even worse than expected:
1) more tits and more asses; the writers of these series don't seem to realise that we are in a fucking WAR ZONE with a raging war at our doorstep, for some reason all the female characters have nothing better to do that run around in a thong ... can't relate
2) the writing was goddamn awful: "She didn't cry. Angels don't cry." WHAT IS THIS??? A RUPI KAUR POEM?
3) the whole plot line was so fucking predictable and it made me mad because of how bad it was; it made no damn sense for Full Metal Bitch (yes, that's the girl's name) to fall in love with Keiji since she only knew him FOR A SINGLE DAY ... and somehow they still ended up fucking?? and the writers truly expected me to feel for that big Romeo and Juliet plot twist at the end?? No, hun. I wanted both of them to die and that's just the tea.
4) So at the end of the day, I'm just left wondering what the purpose of this clusterfuck was? The world building was lacklustre, there was no bigger meaning behind the plot and all of the characters were just laughable. I wish I could say I was entertained by the stupidity, but no, I want my brain cells back.

The second volume of All You Need is Kill is even better than the first!
Rita Vratasky, another time looper like Kieji was exposed to the Mimic's time signals. This is Rita's story and character development is quite amazing.
The plot is a bit complex as compared to the Movie The Edge of Tomorrow which is based on Vol 1 & 2, however it's convincing and lot better.
Again, Book wins over Movie! The ending was quite different too & the dialogues between Rita & Keiji were even better!
Loved it absolutely! However, the artwork was a bit confusing sometimes, finding the head or tail took some effort. Also, All you Need is kill doesn't sound too catchy, they could have come up with something better!
I'd recommend to watch the movie as well as to read All you Need is kill.

İkinci bölümde olaylar açığa çıkıyor. Rita da Keyci gibi döngüde ve bu döngüyü nasıl kıracağını öğrenmiş. Artık keyci yalnız değil, beraber mücadele edebileceği bir savaşçı buluyor. Bence ilkine göre daha iyiydi bu bölüm. Sürükleyiciydi ve bir solukta bitti. Ben mangayı beğendim, keşke daha uzun olsaymış, sadece iki kitaplık olmasını istemezdim.

Finalmente el bucle debe terminar.
Una de las cosas que me ha gustado de este tomo, es que tenemos la oportunidad de conocer a Rita, cuál es su pasado, sus motivaciones, convicciones, de dónde ha venido toda su habilidad, fuerza; así como todas las cargas que ha tenido que soportar.
Ha sido interesante saber sobre sus orígenes y darnos cuenta de que es un personaje sumamente perspicaz, quien ha raíz de la experiencia vivida, se ha dado cuenta de las posibles consecuencias y lo que muy probablemente tendrá que enfrentar pero que aún así desea poder encontrar a alguien afín con quien compartir todo lo que ha vivido con respecto a la guerra.
Después del final del primer tomo esta claro que Keiji buscará hablar con Rita, puesto que lo que tienen en común resulta inesperado y esperanzador para él. Tener finalmente con quien hablar de lo que está ocurriendo y de poder encontrar una solución, claramente es un alivio para él, puesto que solo se concentraba en seguir avanzando en la misma batalla que enfrentaba en cada bucle pero sin llegar a tener un verdadero avance y lo más importante era que no veía ninguna solución a ello.
Y es Rita quien le da la respuesta de cómo resolver ese enigma, sin embargo no resultara tan fácil, puesto que habrá un trasfondo oculto, el cual Rita ya había sopesado con anterioridad pero del cual aun no estaba del todo segura puesto que en todos estos años de batalla nunca se había encontrado a alguien como Keiji.
Y es en el último bucle donde todo empezara a tomar forma, siendo así que tendremos la oportunidad de conocer cómo se van relacionando los dos. Toda esta convivencia resulta muy emotiva, divertida y nos servirá para conocerlos más y si, es inevitable no querer que tengan un final feliz ahora que se han encontrado. Todas las conversaciones resultan diferentes para Keiji, que aunque haya tenido que experimentar más de una vez este encuentro, éste en particular resulta totalmente diferente.
Y es aquí donde ambos tendrán que enfrentar una batalla que los tomara desprevenidos y que aunque logran avanzar en su objetivo primordial para detener el bucle, la situación más difícil también se acerca.
Conforme avanzaba con la historia tenía ciertas suposiciones de que no todo podía tener un final feliz pero no tenía idea del rumbo que tomaría la historia hasta que me encontré con una escena que de cierta forma me alertó de lo que posiblemente podría pasar y aún así, no me lo esperaba lo que me encontré.
Resulta difícil de afrontar puesto que después de todas las vivencias que ha tenido Keiji y su encuentro con Rita, deseas que todo le vaya bien en todos los aspectos, pero para poder salir del bucle en el que se encuentra tendrá que enfrentarse a una ultima situación complicada, en la cual tendrá que demostrar toda su habilidad y deseos por seguir adelante.
Siendo así, a pesar de que hubiese querido un final diferente, el resultado y la manera en cómo termina este episodio para Keiji me parece justo y adecuado, si, es difícil para él pero al mismo tiempo logra mantener una actitud positiva y mostrar que todo lo que ha vivido lo impulsará a seguir adelante.
Dicho esto, quedo muy satisfecha con esta historia, he encontrado más de lo que me esperaba, las escenas de acción están espléndidamente representadas, el dibujo de Obata no defrauda en ningún momento y la historia resulta sumamente interesante, con un buen ritmo, giros inesperados, momentos divertidos, emotivos, emocionantes... en pocas palabras, una historia muy recomendable.

No siempre es bueno querer abarcar varios géneros
"No hubo ninguna lágrima, porque los demonios no lloran."
La historia comienza a confirmar lo que ya sabíamos por el Tomo 1 pero desde el punto de vista de Rita, la protagonista femenina, nos encontramos con un inicio intenso que nos da un vistazo a su vida pre-guerra.
Hasta ahí llega lo interesante.
En el resto del Manga tratan de meter unos guiños románticos en donde no es necesario,supongo que para darle un boost comercial. Eso sobra totalmente en la historia y quita páginas que podían usarse en un desarrollo y explicación más apropiado de el bucle o los mimic. Los autores tratan de rescatarlo con un giro de trama casi al final, pero no es suficiente y se queda muy corto.
Ese mismo intento de incorporar el género de romance arruina un final que pudo ser interesante, dramático o violento y lo convierte en un juego de "no, cuelga tú..."
Lo Mejor: El inicio es lo que faltaba para darle un poquito de profundidad a la protagonista.
Lo Peor: Igual que en el Número 1, no se sacó suficiente provecho del +18 años. Ni en trama ni en ilustraciones.

To coincide with the release of the movie Edge of Tomorrow, Viz Media, a major US publisher and translator of Japanese media works for the American market, decided to release the manga adaptation of Edge's source material. Based on the light novel All You Need Is Kill, this is a much more faithful rendering of the original work than the movie is. Not that this is bad, but just how it is. Sometimes to change media, elements of a story must chance, I suppose.
Anyways, the basic story is about a Japanese private named Keiji Kiriya, who serves in the in the UDF (United Defense Force) which combines the military forces the world over in a battle to defeat aliens called "mimics". Said aliens are intent on changing the eco-system in such a way that will wipe out all life on earth forever. Think of the premise of the recent Man of Steel film, but with greasy poison exuded by biological agents instead of a machine.
Something happens in a battle where Keiji dies, and he wakes up to repeat the day over and over again. Eventually he meets the best soldier on the planet, US Spec Ops member Rita Vrataski, called the Valkyrie and the Full-Metal Bitch. Having gone through loops herself before, she can guide Keiji out of his predicament and perhaps save the world. But the price may be tragically high...
The thing I liked best about this was that they portrayed the characters as they were described in the book. Yes, Rita is pretty, so far as it goes, but not extraordinarily so. She is slight, tiny, and determined. Not a super-model body like Emily Blunt (who portrays Rita in the film) in Edge.
Some elements were dropped or made more concise to accomodate the comic adaptation (in two volumes) of Kill, but overall the comic was faithful in tone, charcterization, and the ending wasn't made happier at all, like in the movie. Yes, it is suggested that humanity may know how to win now, but we can only assume and hope for the characters. It is a melancholy ending, but still hopeful and fitting, one that the film should have kept.

Review untuk jilid 1-2 END.
Begitu buka bukunya dan "ketemu" gambar Mimic, si Gie langsung: JIJIK!!! Gitu deh. Aliennya menjijikkan. Sebelas-duabelas sama kejijikkan monster yang kemarin saya liat di Hunter x Hunter 33. Saya gak suka gambar-gambar monster menjijikkan. Jijik.
Saya masih tahan dengan gore. Gambar-gambar organ tubuh manusia masih bisa lebih saya tahan dibandingkan monster jijik. Saya bahkan langsung membuang komik Parasyte gara-gara alien cacingnya bikin jijik, apalagi masuk-masuk telinga manusia. Super jijik.
Terus, saya pada dasarnya emang kurang suka sci-fi. Apalagi yang alien-alienan. Mana aliennya bikin jijik pula. Bulet berduri-duri dan bergigi-gigi dan BERLENDIR. Super jijik. SUPER JIJIK.
Biasanya saya masih mau baca/nonton sci-fi dengan alien-alienan, tapi yang kayak E.T. atau semacamnya. Yang manis atau lucu ceritanya. Bukan yang sadis-sadisan dan penuh keputusasaan kayak gini.
Saya juga pada dasarnya kurang suka cerita peperangan. Kecuali yang semacam Altair. Perang yang historikal. Bukan yang futuristik. Yang dengan kuda dan panahan. Bukan dengan pesawat tempur, bom, dan robot canggih.
Biasanya saya masih bisa suka cerita robot-robotan. Tapi yang bentuknya bagus dan enak diliat. Yang robotnya keren. Semacam Gundam. Bukan robot yang cuma sekadar armor/jacket dengan bentuk seadanya begini.
Jadi.... eeeer.... intinya, All You Need is Kill ini merupakan kumpulan poin-poin yang tidak saya sukai. Iya, ini subyektif banget emang. Tapi, tiap orang punya selera yang gak bisa diapa-apain. Jadi, saya gak suka buku ini. Beraaaaat banget buat saya baca ini pada awalnya.
Yang membuat saya bertahan membacanya adalah gambar Takeshi Obata serta plot.
Plot tentang time loop di buku ini memikat saya. Membuat saya gak menyerah di jilid 1 dan berhasil membaca hingga tamat juga membuat saya bersedia berbaik hati memberikan 3 bintang.
Mungkin--mungkin lho--saya akan sedikiiit lebih menyukai buku ini kalau-kalau happy ending. Sayangnya, ending-nya pun masih diliputi keputusasaan dengan perang yang belum kunjung usai.
Bodohnya, saya membaca buku ini sebelum tidur yang berakibat membawa mimpi buruk, tidur gak nyenyak, dan bangun-bangun kesal.

Bu cilt ilk cilde göre daha güzeldi ve yine bir çırpıda okudum. Zaman döngüsü konusundan hoşlanmıyorum o yüzden harikaydı diyemem ama güzel bir mangaydı. Kısa olmasını da ayrıca beğendim.

Manga. Level comics. Completed. Book 2 of 2.
Sudah pernah baca versi light novel original-nya (yg buagus bgt) dan nonton holiwut movienya (yg kacrut n sok hepi en sampe kehilangan poin2 penting cerita ini). Jadi scr grs besar cerita sdh tahu. Yg bikin penasaran adalah sbrp setia versi ini pd cerita aslinya, dan tentu saja, artwork Obata-sensei terlepas dari Ohba-sensei yg biasa jd partner berceritanya.
Daaaan.... -long story short- dua2nya sama sekali gak mengecewakan. Artwork yg superb. Obata-sensei mampu menangkap esensi cerita dan mengubahnya dalam bentuk gambar. Enak diikuti, dengan sedikit variasi2 kecil dr versi novel. Bagian klimaksnya... adegan ironis dan mengenaskan diilustrasikan dengan sangat real. Seeep lah.

I read through this in like 2 hours. It's a very good follow up to part 1.
All You Need Is Kill is based on the novel of the same name, so I don't know what comes from the novel and what's new in the manga. That said, let's talk about the whole thing (parts 1 and 2). All You Need Is Kill is extremely entertaining and it keeps you thrilled from first page to last. It's science-fiction but more fiction than science I guess. It introduces very clever and interesting concepts regarding time loops, time travel and evolution (if you look closer).
The way of telling the story is very nice, from different perspectives and rationing the pieces of information smartly. And the art is just astounding, SUPER dynamic. AYNIK sometimes falls into stereotypical backstories and personality traits but that's not necessarily bad, but helps convey the message more easily.
There's not much more to say without spoiling it, but I can safely say that besides being frenetic, interesting and action-packed, it's also a beautiful story about bonds and humanity as a whole. And it empowers women! Like literally, giving them 250kg axes!
I would not say All You Need Is Kill is a sci-fi masterpiece or that it tries to be extremely trascendental, but it's entertaining, clever and cute and it's very well worth the read. If manga is not your cup of tea, don't worry, you'll like this one (I'm not a manga reader either). If you're still reluctant, you can always give the original novel of the same name a go. Or if you DON'T READ at all (and I don't understand why you would be on this social medium) you can watch the 2014 film based on the book, Edge of Tomorrow featuring TOM CRUISE as Keiji Kiriya. Or whatever name they gave the protagonist, since it seems they whitewashed all the characters.
All You Need Is Kill is based on the novel of the same name, so I don't know what comes from the novel and what's new in the manga. That said, let's talk about the whole thing (parts 1 and 2). All You Need Is Kill is extremely entertaining and it keeps you thrilled from first page to last. It's science-fiction but more fiction than science I guess. It introduces very clever and interesting concepts regarding time loops, time travel and evolution (if you look closer).
The way of telling the story is very nice, from different perspectives and rationing the pieces of information smartly. And the art is just astounding, SUPER dynamic. AYNIK sometimes falls into stereotypical backstories and personality traits but that's not necessarily bad, but helps convey the message more easily.

oh my god, that ending, I never tough it will end like that.
now I really liked the story, it was so cool, it had lots of things anguish, drama, romance and war, it was a perfect change of pace for me and since I loved the edge of tomorrow that was inspire by the graphic novel just like the manga, it was like wao just adore it.
I don't want to give away the ending so all I will say it's that if you like edgy readings this one is definitely for you.

I love Rita! She's such a super cool and tough heroine. Overall, the story is more complex and the character development is well-handled compared to the movie. However, I think I'll never get over that ending, I don't mind, though. I can't think of any better ending to the story. If you love Edge of Tomorrow, please consider to read this manga series which the movie is based on.

Hmmm, I liked this but didn’t love it. I wish we had more time with Rita, and the pacing overall in the series felt a bit off. I do think it’s a good manga for if you’re looking for something short and action packed.

Ya que el sistema de Goodreads de solo cinco estrellas en vez de por ejemplo diez no permite ser sutil opinaré en el comentario que puntúo un poco por debajo este volumen en comparación con el primero. Y es que aunque este añada la perspectiva de Rita y nos lleve a un final frenético e inesperado, para mí, igual que en la película, no hay nada como el proceso del primero por el que el protagonista descubre el meollo del asunto, flipa como en un mal viaje, decide afrontarlo, la caga "mortalmente", aprende de ello, la vuelve a cagar y así sucesivamente...
Eso no quiere decir que el momento en que no sea una cosa tremendamente emotiva por muy machote que uno se crea.

Adaptación al manga de la novela homónima, muy buenos dibujos, atractivos, sobrios y dinámicos, la historia es tal cual con muy pocas licencias creativas, se centra mucho más en nuestro personajes sin profundizar tanto en los demás, me agradó bastante.
Muy recomendable para conocer la novela, disfrutar este manga e interesar al público en leer la fuente original y quizá ver la película y creo tendrá una innecesaria secuela con actores veteranos cuando la historia es de dos jóvenes adolescentes, pero en fin, hollywood.

Honestly, I read this series because I kept getting recommendations for it so I wanted to see if it was good enough for me to have to see it in my recommendations for years now. All in all, it was a pretty good series! I'm not a particularly huge fan of war-themed series, but I love a good time-loop/time-travel series so I definitely enjoyed that aspect of the series. I really enjoyed the story itself and of course, the art is by Takeshi Obata and that was absolutely phenomenal.

مدت ها و سال های زیادی هست که از وجود این مانگا با خبرم
مانگایی از اون اقتباس سینمایی بی نظیری به اسم لبه فردا با بازی تام کروز ساخته شد
و بالاخره بعد از همه این سال ها فرصتی شد و خوندمش
باید بگم فقدان یک انیمه وفادار به این مانگا به شدت حس میشه
واقعا دوست دارم این دو جلد رو توی آرشیوم داشته باشم
شاید روزی شد..

I didn't like the end and the movie explored it better. But otherwise it was great. Loved Rita's backstory, I think the movie had missed that, don't remember.
There are loopholes but otherwise a good one time read. I loved the quotes at the end of each chapter.

I enjoyed this volume more than the first one. At first I did not think it would be that way but the love story made it so much better in my opinion. It really gave the story a humane way to approach the futuristic setting since love has no boundaries. Its unfortunate that its such a short manga but it is totally worth it.😍

Since both volumes were there I just read both. I do think this is good, though I am not a big fan of the ending. I feel like the mechanic of the mimics is also a bit fuzzy at times. But overall this kept me buzzy when I needed it.
