Got this for a dollar on the outside of Brattle Book Shop! It was really interesting. It was published in 2003 (in Singapore) but some of the ideas in it are still true today. My only wish was that the photos said where they were taken. Like its a book about Asia but is this Japan, China, and/or Singapore? Or does this include Russia or Vietnam for instance

Yes.

A beautiful book of very few words, filled with photographs of rooms with very few items in them. The simplicity is compelling.

I read this to get a feel of how to redo the office space in my home, and to do it in a manner that is simple, peaceful, and attractive. Asian design, even more so than Scandinavian/modern design, speaks that way to me.

It will take some planning and continual simplification and simultaneous enhancement of the purpose of the space. It will be worth it.

I recommend this book for design inspiration, and also for simplification of space, and life. Both are high impact moves!
