Jeanine Le Ny created and edited dozens of best-selling novels for teens and young readers before becoming a full-time author.

Her latest series is Once Upon a Prom, a trilogy that follows best friends Jordan, Tara, and Nisha as they plan and scheme and shop for the most important night of their lives. Jeanine attended her own prom in the 1980s in Staten Island. "Shopping for a prom dress, my mom and I found ourselves in a tiny boutique in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn," Jeanine remembers. "The woman who owned the place wore a stiff beehive, where she would hold her reading glasses and a pencil for safe keeping. She sounded like she smoked three packs of cigs a day and called me ‘Baby Doll' the whole time I was there. The place was packed with gowns, but she would only give me three options to try on: the ‘hot vixen look,' the ‘princess look,' and the ‘glamor look.' I chose glamor, of course."

Jeanine Le Ny currently lives with her husband in Staten Island.

A+ series, absolutely cute, and would totally read again. These were just so cute and light hearted and airy. I did feel anxious at times when they confronted their problems but that's a given. I loved all of the main characters and a bunch of the side characters as well.

Jordan and Shane: I adored this couple mostly because they were two polar opposites who came together despite being so different and embraced that other person's uniqueness. I'm a sucker for the soft hearted rebel.

Nisha and Brian: I hope in this book universe they get married and live happily ever after, because Brian stood the test of time with Nisha, he waited until she was ready to tell him what was bothering her and when they finally had to face Nisha's parents he didn't back down. I'm glad that she didn't end up with an arranged marriage because I love the idea that her parents were going to learn about both sides of her. Her story was truly touching.

Tara and Victor: I LOVE THIS COUPLE!! DO YOU HEAR ME??! Victor is my precious cinnamon roll and he must be protected. I wasn't a fan of Tara at first because I thought all she cared about was getting a date and nothing about Victor, but she does and I can not explain how many times this couple had me squealing. Even when Tara was being nasty from stress over prom committee Victor cheered her up. I'm an even bigger sucker for a hot nerd. I want a whole spin off novel of them being cute together.

Nate: I disliked Nate at first but you just grow to be disgusted with him as the books progress, you don't even really feel hatred as much as disgust. That's all I have to say about Nate

Raj: I thought he was cute and I hope, like Nisha, he is allowed to be himself

Kali: I loved how Kali was always there for her sister. It was just a heartwarming addition

These books deserve to have more people read them, they aren't deep or philosophical in the least bit, but they are entertaining and they make you feel giddy while reading them.

It's four minutes since we left DRESS. There is one week and six days left until the Prom. And so much has to happen in such a short time! Nisha is still stuck in the middle of the fight between Tara and Jordan. If things aren't sorted out soon, then the three girls will definitely not be attending the Prom together.

For Nisha, she still has not told her parents that she would rather go to the Prom with her boyfriend, Brian, than Raj, the son of an acceptable Indian family. And Brian has put pressure on her to meet her parents. He has told her that if he doesn't get to meet them, then the two of them won't be going to Prom as a couple. The only bright note in Nisha's life is that her sister and brother-in-law have flown in from England to be there for Nisha's graduation. Nisha and Kali are very close, and maybe Kali can tell Nisha what to do with the crazy things going on in her life.

Tara is full-steam ahead with her Prom Queen campaign. She figures if Jordan really wants to be Queen, she's going to have to work for something for a change. And did Tara accidentally let it slip to Victor that she thinks of him as more than a friend? The amazing thing is that Victor may actually feel the same way about her!

And finally there's Jordan. Her dreams of going to Prom with her perfect boyfriend, Nate, and being crowded Queen has gone up in smoke. She is no longer speaking to Nate, but she now has Shane to keep her company. She has never felt so comfortable with someone and he makes her feel special. Jordan is tired of fighting with Tara, and the final is straw is when she decides to not go to Prom at all. She sells her dress to a consignment shop and withdraws her name from the competition.

However, as with the other two parts of the story, there is more going on and the ending comes as a surprise to all. Will their friendship be strong enough to overcome all the pettiness that has happened over the last few weeks? Or will Prom be an absolute disaster in the end?

Jeanine Le Ny brings the trilogy to a sweet conclusion. All is not perfect in the end, which is as it should be, but the friendship that the girls share is strong and the support they have for each other is inspiring. I would love to see a continuation of the story to find out how all of the friendships and relationships continue beyond the Prom.

Once Upon A Prom Date was the third series book written by Betty Smith, which the whole story form based upon a focus point of three senior girls who was best friends ever since they remember. However, because of a misunderstanding between two of the girls, Jordan and Tara, they happened to be fighting a week right before the very important event of their high school years- senior prom. Jordan is currently the head of the cheerleader and for sure she is pretty and popular among the boys. She overhears Tara backstabbing her by telling her boyfriend Nate that she is cheating on him. This break the bond between the girls where Nisha is force to choose between the two of them, but never giving up of trying to reunite them. This book make me think a lot about friendships and relationships and how we should handle them carefully and learned to balance them, avoiding the situation that you must force to be choose between one side or other. I personally think that friendship is more stronger than relationships, but not everybody feels the same way as I do.
What I liked about the whole book was how the ending turn up to be that the girls’ friendship are stronger than what people obviously saw. What was the most important was they also realized that there was nothing that could break the bond between them and all the memories they happened to share together for all those long years. Not all the people have the courage to admit their own mistakes and those people who have the courage are giving more valuable things in return.
I recommend this book to teenagers who felt that they having trouble making decision between friendships and relationships, this book might be the right one for you.

this book is between the stories of three girls nisha, tara, and jordan. having three different plot set up might make you think it will be hard to catch on to what is going to happen, but the author does a really good job into connecting one story to another. nisha is having problems with telling her parents with the white boyfriend she has, and tara and jordan is having a fight because they have mistaken each other in doing something. both girls are trying to reconcile and fight with eachother at the same time. and nisha is caught between these two problems adding to her own. with these three different plots crashing together the ending is really good.

i would recommend this this book to girls and boys because friendship is something that everyone should treasure and keep.
